Well, folks... I saw this Star Trek Fleet Command stream last night with a fellow named Rev Deuce. He looked like the captain of the S.S. Disappointment.

Scopely is running this game like a Vegas casino with a bad attitude. You pull in, you drop a few bucks, and suddenly they're charging you just to breathe the recycled air on your own starship!

These players are furious. One guy said he's been playing since 2019, eight to twelve hours a day. That's not a hobby, that's a hostage situation! He's got a baby account now. "Honey, the pixels are crying again, quick, beam down some more money!"

They're trying to start these big armadas, but nobody can join because everyone's too busy writing angry comments.

It's like trying to get the band back together, except the band is on fire and the drummer wants a $99.99 battle pass.

The bugs? Oh my. One player tried the classic Picard Maneuver, ship froze solid. That's not a glitch, folks... that's the game saying, "Make it so... I disappear."

Rev's out there pleading with the developers for fixes. Good luck, pal. The last time a company listened to its players this much, they invented microtransactions and called it "progress."

I tell ya... it's rough out there in space.

I was banned for three days, my next comment was removed. There is no point in banging my head against the wall here. Progressing past ops 72 at a decent pace requires commited spending. There is no noticable difference in progression at ops 72 if I buy the battlepasses or not. I am freezing all spending for this game. I have spend at least $10,000.00 over the years on this game. I have the receipts. It was fun. I can spend that money somewhere else in the future.

<@&509690795536941056> When I'm making use of a combat buff on a ship that lasts 5 minutes, and there's combat lag such that a ship remains stuck in combat for 20-30 seconds rather than the typical 5 seconds, that kind of interruption goes beyond mere nuisance or testing playerbase patience. Same goes for when this happens when a player is in waves. And must hit a certain # of hostiles in a short period of time.

I understand that you hear this community complain about lag a lot, and it may be something you grow to tune out. Nevertheless- this player asks you to prioritize having this game function normally >98% of the time.

I watched Rev Deuce, the biggest voice in Star Trek Fleet Command, drop the act completely. No jokes, no gameplay, just a raw open letter to the two bosses, Walter and Javier. “Please come save us.” That’s not regular content. That’s a man on his knees begging the company not to squeeze the life out of the game he loves.

These executives talk about “players are our boss” and grand vision. Meanwhile, the game feels like it’s saying, “Pay up or your pixels suffer.” Players aren’t in charge, they’re leaving in droves after years of grinding and daily pressure. It stopped feeling like Star Trek. It became a treadmill with Klingon wallpaper.

Rev says he hears from more players than anyone at the company. He’s watching loyal fans quit, turning down easy money because he actually cares. **The real glue holding it together isn’t the mechanics, it’s the community. People who found friendship flying starships together. ** And right now, that community is fading.

So here’s the plain message, Walter and Javier: Step into the game. Stop talking about player love and start showing it before the last warp core goes cold. Your Star Trek Fleet Command is circling the drain, and the only ones left are the ones too hooked to leave.

As I've asked, god knows how many times, when can we have a scrap/exchange for useless items that are never going to be spent?

Lets do a little math Scopely.
There are between 40 and 100 million star trek fans on the planet. 37% of people in America are fans.
If just 1% of the average (say 70 million people) are gamers that's 700,000 potential customers.
If just 10% of them actually joined the game that's 70,000 new players.
If they enjoy it they would tell their friends and get them to join.
So here is where the rubber meets the road.
If those 70,000 new players were added to the rolls and they enjoyed the game enough to make a $20 purchase each month that is and additional 1.4 million a month revenue.
The answer is simple. Make the game playable and compelling so people join and have fun playing. Keep it Star Trek and keep it fun. Don't try to force folks to spend to progress. Let it happen organically. If you do a good job the players will respond.

I have a windows box as well, I prefer linux, there are several interfaces you can use, GNOME and KDE are two popular ones. Many distros come with multiple versions so you can pick the one you like best. GNOME is probably the most popular and oldest, KDE is newer and probably #2

I need a really good one so I can also run cubyz I am not 100% sure what Linux versions cubyz runs on but I do know it can run on Linux mint as it's built on Linux mint windows 11 just prevents it from being at max performance

Mint uses the Ubuntu kernel, so I would look in that family of builds. Different Distros can use different kernel versions. For example Debian is slower to release updates, and focuses on long term stability. Ubuntu will have several releases, a more cutting edge version, and also have a long term support version with a slightly older kernel

I am encouraged by the news from RevDeuce, but I refuse to have blind hope. We have been lied to repeatedly and been given vague promises of "we care" and "we will do better" from the upper echelon. The words are worth less than used Kleenex. Now, once we start seeing actual improvements, that may change, but seeing is believing.

Ultimately an entire culture shift is going to have to take place within the staff of STFC, one where the players are not the vile opposition, but the consumer. Case in point, we still have no answer on why Arcfall is being delayed. And contrary to what we may have thought, there was no promise or suggestion that they would. However, playing things close to the chest to hide them is exactly what has helped to engender hostility from players to the company, which causes a recursive loop in that the company believes that they need to hide information from the players lest we become more agitated.

Please do not get me wrong, I am happy that any notice went out at all about the change in Arcfall date. But would it have hurt to add something along the lines of " Due to the performance of this past month, we wanted a few extra days to more thoroughly test the arc to better ensure a quality release" Now maybe the delay has nothing to do with testing, maybe it is because someone forgot to push the code to Apple and it will take a few extra days for the iOS approval, but with a continued series of let downs and broken promises explanations help.

Yes there may be heat for some of the explanations, but much like when a child fesses up to breaking the vase in the hallway, there will be repercussions, but in the end a stronger relationship is built.

NONE of them are worth spending a cent on for higher level players, Territory research is completed, making the entire pass useless. Wave defense pass is pretty much a self supporting loop that offers very little value, plus it does nothing but lock up and fail wasting the directives. Outpost is pretty much the same as waves very little value.

It depends on the event. Some FC events list specific commanders. Not sure which one your talking about, but id double-check the points marker to conform hes listed... or its generalized like... spend FC points. If not, id put a ticket in.

The same problem with your counters in the game (ex help button ) even if you have clicked the button always 1 is remaining. If you have on the events tab a 2 please show where these 2 items are located that require the players attention, only to find out that there a not 2 but 10 items waiting for you? Do i need to continue? Even a 2 year old can fix these kind of things. And in case you didn’t know AI is mighty good in finding problems within your code and scripts you only have to instruct it to do so instead of instructing it to generatie more bugs and cashflow generation

So I just had a private chat by a player from the rival server. They claimed that the scoring isn't contributing if I'm using a special ship and not a normal ship. But to score in the event you have to raid and gain resources, defend your server or raid the other server. It doesn't say what ships you can't use to contribute to the Incursion scoring.

It's quite incredible how obviously connected Incursions and other Events that "merge" different Servers are to serious Bugs and Lags in the Game... Yet $copely insists on running these broken Events again and again and everyone just seems to accept it and so many even just keep spending.

Episode 1: I think episode one was the video Captain's Log with Domen (1 year ago) giving the ambitious goal to have content up to end of 2024 archived by the end of 2025 and reducing the number of active loops to 5. If you wonder what the content up to end of 2024 was: The last ship introduced in 2024 was the Revenant. The first ship introduced in 2025 was the Relativity. If you wonder how many active loops there are (by ship - used for events or to farm for refinery): Discovery, Stella, Reliant, Cerritos, Serene Squall, Relativity, Vindicator, Borg Cube, Revenant, Defiant, Protector, Gorn, GS-31, Titan-A, Dauntless, NX-01, Excelsior, Borg Sphere, and Vengence. That is 19 active loops (not all consuming the same effort but all active). On top there are some refinery or shop based loops not bound to a specific ship Academy, Outpost, all kinds of armadas (Cardassian, fraction up to lvl 60, fraction solo, formation armadas, Open armadas), scout message exchange, dailies (hazard particle, loyality badges, etc.), arena, incursion. Let's take them for 10 loop points. Makes some 29 active loops. I guess aiming at 5 was too ambitious. Adding to 29 is not ambitious enough.

Episode 2: I think was Our GM Speaks: The Future of Star Trek Fleet Command (9 months ago) promising to listen to the community and focusing on stabilizing the system instead of new features. Fair enough not to promise a date to reach a stable system. Not making any visible progress (or even worsening the situation) in 9 months is not good enough. And with respect to the new features/concepts: Prototype Tech, Dauntless (automatic ship), G7 (joined area Veil), Surges, Outposts, redesigned invasion, redesigned battle pass, re-redesigned incursion, general support buffs (Excelsior), redesigned ascension event, redesigned emergency rations, redesigned alliance tournaments, Duo Waves, and G5 scrapping. Each one introducing problems on rollout and most still causing problems today.
And with respect to community feedback I think battle pass redesign, alliance tournament redesign, and in particular G5 scrapping stand for themselves. Redesigns were almost each design decision was made against players' interest.

Now my request for Episode 3: Please make a video with a member of the test team where she/or explains how function and consistence of main game features in general and changed and new content in particular is maintained by regirous testing. I am sure that the video will age well like Episodes 1 and 2 and become more hilarious over time.

The lag during incursions is absolutely unacceptable. I wasn’t even aware I was being attacked or that I had sustained damage until after the third attack on my station had occurred. Then I was prompted with multiple errors because the ships I was using were apparently destroyed and I couldn’t tell.

See, I beamed up to this fancy starship, but every time I want to do anything fun, zoom around, fight Klingons, or even scrape the barnacles off the hull, Scopely says, "That'll be three coconuts... I mean, $49.99 please!" It's like the Howells charging me rent for sitting under my own palm tree!

We tried starting a big Armada the other day. Everybody showed up excited... then the whole thing froze solid like Mary Ann's coconut cream pie on a bad day. The Professor says it's a "bug." I say it's the same bug that always sinks our raft!

Players have been grinding since way back, some since 2019! That's longer than we've been on this island. Now half of 'em are packing up their tricorders and leaving. The Skipper keeps yelling at the radio for help, but the devs just say, "Player love!" and then... nothing. No rescue. Just more battle passes.

It's like our show, Skipper! We almost get off the island every week, but something always goes wrong. In STFC, we almost have fun... then bam! Another paywall. Another broken story arc. Another "sorry, try spending more dilithium!"

I'm Gilligan... and somehow I managed to get us all marooned in space. Sorry about that, Skipper.

Just chiming in to agree with how underwhelming this compensation was. ESPECIALLY given that there was semi-official advice provided (in #known-issues) that we NOT try to collect rewards. That put all of the collection timers out of whack, which is especially problematic for challenge track, cbsa directives, and other finely time-gated events/time-windowed, which have been increasingly released recently.

(n.b., I've been intending to call out how problematic these loops are already, but the delayed ability to claim puts an additional spotlight on the issue.)

we are tired of having to attack ships twice, sometimes three times to get our ships to move.
we are tired of our points in events and dailies not counting and/or taking 20+ minutes to catch up.

we're tired of literally, every aspect of the game being broken on a consistent daily basis.
we are tired of our other games running flawlessly when they are way more graphically intensive and have a higher server dependency, only to log on STFC and play the ageless game of "what has Scopely broken today."
we are tired of "Opps our bad, here is some compensation gift with two officer shards that nobody wants" when you and we both know the only compensation we want is Lat and for you to fix the dang issues.

General feedback: I’m sure this has been mentioned many many times, but in lieu of actually spending the time required to fix bugs, just switch to a tick/tick release schedule. Instead of blasting out new content every cycle, do a bug fix cycle and a content cycle. Show us some actual progress on bugs to placate our desire to grab the torches and pitchforks. I don’t give a rats behind about new characters, ships, buildings, or other content if it doesn’t actually work. I think the absolute failure of not getting items for Incursion or other purchases yesterday was a breaking point for a lot of players. It really showed how much Scopely is not invested in our enjoyment of the game. There should have been an immediate announcement and plan for dealing with that yet all we got was silence for far too long. Show us the real effort not crappy compensation packages. A tick/tok cycle would help convince us you care rather than just want our credit cards.

To try to promote the new ship, you said it would have "long term value". We can't trust you on that anymore because you have detonated a nuke in the middle of your integrity. You recently made a change to the game, turning off his ability and crippling him, and even had the audacity to outright admit that the reason you were doing it was because you noticed people were using him more.

I am writing to file a formal complaint about the absolute outrage that is Update 91 and the arrival of the U.S.S. Athena. You people have gone too far this time.

How am I supposed to maintain any semblance of a normal life when you drop a gorgeous Ops 61+ starship specifically engineered for Academy Space and Duo Wave Defense? The sheer audacity! My poor wallet was just sitting there minding its own business and now it’s trembling in fear from how badly it wants to throw itself at this ship.

The Athena’s abilities are completely ridiculous. Healing allied ships? Strengthening the Apex Barrier? Countering the Venari Ral’s Programmable Matter like it’s personal? This is disgusting levels of thoughtful game design. I’m offended by how strategically satisfying this all sounds. My other ships are now looking at me with jealousy, wondering why they weren’t built this fabulous.

And don’t even get me started on the exclusive Research Tree, the massively expanded Academy Refinery rewards, and the major Academy Space progression systems. You’ve given players actual meaningful long-term value? With powerful combat bonuses? The nerve! The gall! Most game companies just take our money and run, but no, not Scopely. You had to go and make a ship that’s genuinely exciting and feels like a real investment. This kind of quality should be illegal.

I’m absolutely furious at how much I’m looking forward to mastering Duo Wave Defense now. My sleep schedule is ruined. My responsibilities are neglected. All because you released something this good.

In short: Fix this immediately. Release more incredible content like the Athena so I can continue being completely powerless to resist spending money on your ridiculously well made game.

The biggest issue with this ship is it's not 'just' a hundred bucks. Since it's 61+ it's g6 and will have 15 to 18 tiers while being COMPLETELY useless under t10 or so.

The initial cost for a basic semi-useful ship will be the ship plus at least 5-10 packs to level it. For waves. Which already had a dedicated ship, the GS31.

Dear Scopely, Please bring back the Swarm raiding ASAP!!! Since as long as I can remember, Swarm raiding has been a thing in this game. Having a bunch of players ganging up on 1 base to drain the RSS as fast as possible with the double and sometimes triple scoops was fun.
You've already killed raiding with the Introduction of Sigma which is pretty much unraidable unless you spend 6-8 hours raiding a base to get rid of the regular RSS to finally get to the Sigma... and that was with the Swarm raiding.... Now without Swarm raiding it's even worse and pretty much frustrating since you can't even try to time your attempt to scoop with the graphics because of the normal lag of the game. Not sure WHY you got rid of Swarm raiding, Not sure WHO's idea it was but 1 thing is sure, Players don't like it. It was already ridiculous but now it's even worse how you don't listen to what players want or like in this game and pretty much do the exact opposite and it's ruining the game. Right now, the only reason why I'm still playing it is because of the group of people I play with.... and if things keep going that way, it won't be long until we all find another game we can play together, have fun and spend money cause let's be realistic here, any other game won't be as broken as this one and it will feel like spending money is worth it again..... You’re not making it clear what the bonuses (if any) there are for the new ship against the currently completely impossible hostile grind. 1. many whales that bought trash have left, leaving slightly more educated players behind (though this is debatable given we are still playing).

2. the introduce an arc with problem, and subsequent release of second arc and solution isnt working now. what happens is: introducing a problem noone can participate in so arc is forgotten, subsequent arc solution sale doesnt sell because noones participating.

It's becoming increasingly evident that the individuals behind the STFC brand have only ever been interested in and engaging with players who have the highest in-game spending.

In addition you should figure out how many compensation chests you are giving out on a yearly basis (where each compensation chest is due to your developers badly coding) and you would be surprised about the results of this( I think you are already passing more then 200 a year and then I’m being pessimistic ) which means that your developers messen up 200 times. For arguments sake let’s say out of the 200 chests there where actually 100 chests with real value (not starting about the 5 speedups chests) calculated at 99,99 EURO per box 9999 EURO times your complete userbase let’s say for argument sake 100K people if you are lucky equals 999.900.000 EURO you are throwing into the bin to keep your players happy.
You should have used this money to improve your code quality instead of throwing in patch after patch.

As an ops 70 player, I have to collect 95k loot for one chest pull from the refinery. Given that i can collect about 1000 loot per run, it's going to take about 3 months for one chest pull. How am I expected to upgrade the academy building, let alone unlock the new ship using the same currencies? It's going to take literally YEARS to unlock it f2p. A better solution would have been to scale the loot required to pull building chests based on the building level, not ops level & have it scale as your building does - that way everyone would have been able to progress the building from day 1.

Oh come now! You want a ship that unlocks a research tree and is good for a single duo wave defense completion!! Get your spend on. Then in a month prepare for FT/CT and other junk to build on the content no one asked for, won’t engage with, and Scopley doubles down on….. again.

You have a point, maybe steer the entire game into ships no one wants to use, but they have as it has solitary feature that requires you to have or you can't progress deeper into the game without using. BUT make it take a year to get AND it syphons away your materials, parts, lat, OH and attaches to your bank account and steals money away everyday you don't have the ship and its really cool, blood sucking, soul crushing feature.

60 per shard is not 1:1 exchange rate. Even ignoring that, you give the Admiral's tickets in sets of 500 (500/1000/1500/3000) - why on Earth is it 60:1 and not 50:1? There will certainly be some left over unless we had the full 3k.

Starbase research bits for a G6 SLB??? The only way anyone will be excited about that is if you have an expansion coming soon that will require huge amounts of them. Nevermind, even that doesn't sound exciting, but it should've been announced too if that's the plan.
Also, Day 5 will be so unfulfilling and empty without an option to defeat hostiles. 🥺

Just popping over after reading the announcement, the rewards for 61-70 ops range look pretty worthless overall at first glance. The meta rewards seem like OK run of the mill stuff, if unexciting. The ALB rewards aren't worth chasing but are perhaps nice to have I guess; but I'm not going to change the community of friends of playing with to chase some some ALB and I'm not going to spend time micromanaging others to boost an ALB result, so its a lame gameplay mechanic, may as well just be a Monday Supply drop - I'll get the rewards I get 🤷‍♂️ won't make progression easier or the game more fun or more engaging than it is today.

As someone who hoards resources for certain SLBs, it feels really bad pulling the gacha lever rather than being able to select the handful of absolutely necessary officers. I'm ops 69 so have a very solid base but g4 and G5 players are going to just have a brutal slog. And they will feel like they can never catch up. Because they can't.
