Because this thing is weaker than a g3 ship and even at lvl 60 its no where near the power or ability of a factions ship. I was excited for this ship to come out, only to be completely let down. Also fsep systems have been glitched since the very beginning. You can't really see new nodes spawning correctly, you have to do workarounds to be able to guess where they are. This new bug is just the cherry on top

Scopely slows down progress in all areas while pushing more and more primes.

If you planned well you had the chance to:

• score in Material Spend SLB and SMS
• get up to Milestone 2 in Syndicate Advancement SMS (with Elite BP)
• score even in bad brackets SLB (not in the worst 51+ up to 70)

We lost all of these chances in the last 3 months.
And it's getting worse with every month.

The balancing is totally out of control but there is no official statement that these issues are not ignored.
It looks like everythings developing as intented.
And that's a shame.

Working as intended, Scopy answered with “buy more packs”. This is all intended. They are closing the player found gaps in their pay wall. They are sending a very clear, and very loud message that if you don’t drop mad cash, you don’t matter, just sit back, shut up (Or don’t, but they aren’t listening here anyway) and take what you are given.

If it wasn't for the community in our alliance I probably would have stopped playing by now. Which is a shame because I actually enjoy the game. But as F2P I am just increasingly frustrated that I can't progress any more.

What exactly is going on here that things are still broken and we've been compensated directly for two things that went wrong TC and dailies but not for the literal hundreds of errors that happen every hour to every player on your servers. You stopped updating us you stopped apparently trying to fix it. You realize the next step is that people stop spending money and leave your game? The value of (mostly) F2P-players is clearly shown in Scopelys reaction to all the reported bugs, to the frustration spread by decreased opportunities to reach Milestones (let alone complete events) or not working / scoring events in general: NOTHING.
There was no official announcement lately, support is not responding contemporary.
And the last official announcements were like ‘yeah, everything is pretty fine, we celebrate, bla bla we look through rose-colored glasses, this arc is gorgeous’. It’s a shame.

I agree with some of the vids I've seen, regarding the Borg Cube. The cutting beam, needs re-working, huge. It should make no difference the level of player hitting for damage. As it stands, larger players can use it effectively against smaller players, but not reverse. Also it is far too weak when charged up to one shot hostiles of significant level. Having to go back and forth from a higher system to charge it efficiently, to a smaller system to one shot a hostile, is a huge waste of time. The cutting beam should have its own gear slot, and damage increases as it levels up, including the level of hostile or player it can be used on.

So, just got the cube, starting the loop. killing reds in the same system as those you can 1 shot is seriously unpleasant.
Going to a system to kill reds that charge the beam fast and whittling down a reds health isnt possible due to an immunity to the cutter?

It is high priority, but no ETA. You can still mine, the nodes are there. It's usually easier to see if you exit to galaxy view, then pop back into system view and don't drag the screen around.

The Borg cube grind is poorly designed. To kill something with the beam I am forced to hit level 20 mobs. In order to charge that beam I would have to kill 20 of those same mobs. That is a waste of time and a useless grind. In order to get enough for a triple refine I would need to do that entire cycle 10-20 times. All these mobs are significantly below my dailies level or my faction requirements. The cube doesn’t have the warp range to hit other useful hostiles like jemhadar etc. This is a terrible design. Please make the beam useful by increasing its damage value significantly.

The Borg Cube looks great, looks cool. But I don't see how this will ever be the strongest ship in the game. It cannot be used for your dailies (not for me). I don't see when it can be used.

I'm level 47 - I have to defeat level 48/52 enemy ships. This is not possible with the Borg Cube, even if I upgrade the Borg Cube to tier 6, it just won't work

A: must get much better ship statuses (hull, shield, dmg, warp range and protection) - parallel to 46 ships
B: Special Borg Cube research (Cube only) trees from which you had to choose which one you wanted to do for your type of gameplay (you cannot choose everything) This way everyone gets a unique and Borg Cube in the game, which completely suits you, how you want to play this game

Okay, took the cube out for a spin, popping between Frysta and Thama for some double taps, did a full pull and have enough for tomorrows full pull. Thoughts, it’s tedious. Not impressed. And that I cannot even tier it yet just annoyed me further. The gun is weak. Having to charge in one system, fly to another was another thing that totally took me out of the grind. This will be a ship that gets brought out strictly to farm for research mats. Glad I didn’t buy it out the gate, and definitely NOT wasting any event store cred on further ones. It is a solid D, maybe a D+ if the research comes along, but at the moment, it seems as slow as ex-Borg, so not to excited there either. All in all, with everything that has gone on so far, this arc is an F.

Cutting beam does need a buff. It should be able to kill all types of FKR hostiles of corresponding level with one shot. This means about a 50 to 55 percent buff to PVE damage. It does not need a buff to PVP damage IMO.

Ok, got the cube yesterday and was bored after swapping systems 3 times. It virtually has no beneficial gameplay, you need to kill 2 hostiles in a 38 systems then go to a 28 systems to use the beam - rinse repeat 10 times for the 3x refine. In between empty the cargo... This feels not good. Not good at all. If we could at least charge the beam to 1000% and use it 10 times or sth like that.

If you can find a swarm system it kills in, you can do it in one, and potentially shorter warp run than a 38->28 distance.

This ‘diminishing returns’ business with the Cube’s Cutting Beam in PvP dealing less dmg vs higher Ops players, is total bs and needs to go. The Cube itself has been maybe the lone bright spot of this month so far, but it will only stay that way if you remove ‘diminishing returns’ from the Cutting Beam. This is very similar to the ‘Amalgam Tax’ nonsense Scopely tried to lay on us when the Amalgam first came out

More screen time is an important metric they track. More time on stfc means less time in anything else, which means there is a tipping point where you start viewing those $99 packs as a decent cost given the amount of time you are in game.

Their psychological manipulation budget is 10x the development budget.

A lot of hate on the cube here. Ops lvl 59 with a Tier 11 borg cube. Kill lvl 55-57 and can charge the beam in 6 hits then beam a 55. The research is good for all your ships. I dont like the fact I need to get a 60 ship (Rotarran) to tier 4 in order to upgrade the cube. Some of these specialty ships are not about the ship but more about the factory and/or research it opens up. Hate the grinding for multiple materials and you need to be a full time player to max it all out. No the game designers do not listen to us when it comes to grinding multiple resources so focus on one or two. No the game designers have horrible beta testers and tend to take a looooong time to fix bugs and continue to put out new content that creates more bugs. It is a game and as long as we keep it in perspective then we can enjoy aspects of the game like being social, certain events that are fun....I only like Incursion for the raiding and replenishing my RSS but I also like it as it brings alliances together for a singular purpose.....it is a game

What benefit does the Cube add to the game? All I can see so far is it kinda replaces the need for a faction battleship once it reaches max tier for a players’ level for a less resources. But even then, a faction battleship is superior and only lacks the ability to cowardly one-shoot players 10x ops levels lower without actually getting into battle. Dumb idea and I don’t see the hype around this or how it amends so much disappointment in the game, esp. over last several arcs. Mine can rot, I’m not engaging in this nonsense!

I believe the idea behind the cube is for a ship similar in power to a lower tier of your current ship for solo-armadas ... high up you will only be able to tunnel 1 rep (g6 race) and therefore as a future precaution for those who are racing to catch up (28-42?) and those going beyond 60, a ship was needed to fulfil:
fkr + cube + specialty = solo armada composition
we are fortunate that the cube is actually useful, instead of being a support ship like a cer/tit/disc/etc

Dear Scopley, The last three arcs have been so badly launched, with so many bugs and with crappy event rewards that any time I think of making a purchase I don’t. Why reward a company for poor performance, poor customer service and terrible communication. I get you need to make money but the prices you charge are insane and I am frankly surprised that people still pay it. I have made purchases in the years I been here but very few due to the stupid prices you charge. Lately I have almost pulled the trigger on a couple battle pass but with the disastrous patches and terrible communication, pay to win mechanics, grind after grind getting added I have decided not to each time. I know the cash is rolling in these days but if you don’t do better that gravy train will stop. I know that while you don’t make money directly off free to play remember if your whales don’t have anyone to beat up on they will get board and move on. At this point I think the main reason I even log on as much as I do is for the people in my fleet. I know lately I come on and complain a lot but that has directly to do with each new update being more and more broken with more and more grinds. The sad part is you clearly don’t care .

How can the borg cube be marketed as "The Borg Cube is formidable and will be on par (or better) with your faction ship’s power.", but at ops 40 compared to a t7 aug and the cube being maxed for a g3 epic (t5), the cube is less than 1/3 the power of the aug. Seems like bad marketing or scaling really needs to be reworked.

It doesn't compare in anything other than the warp range. Hostile farming, pvp, and armadas there is no comparison between the cube and g3 epics. The cubes will sit in dry dock and I problem won't touch them again as I won't be taking an unc g4 to t6 as it's a waste of mats you can use for a rare.

You are not in their target demographic. You say they don't care... and you are correct. A player who might buy a few battle passes just doesn't matter at all to them. Players who play for a few years, spend $200 and then quit in disgust do not make or break their game or profits. Those kind of players come and go, but as long as the whales keep whaling (and they are) their business plan is working and they will change nothing.

When you guys think a grinding loop was poorly thought out, when you think the time it takes to complete tasks is crazy long, when you think things need tweaks to be usable... these are not accidents. Long grinds/bad sourcing/poor return/performance = spending from impatience, future primes, new ships/mechanics to improve things, etc. They sell you the problem to solve, then sell you solutions, then sell you better performance for those solutions. Its ingenious really, being able to profit from every part of the cycle instead of just the solution part. Diabolically evil, but still ingenious.

The answer is not to get the whales to stop whaling. (If/when that happens, they'll just shut down the game and make a new one.) The answer is not to keep complaining. There is no answer to improve things, because this is their plan working. Whales spending money, non-whales playing or quitting (they don't care which! lol), rinse and repeat. Some games are designed by gamers who want a fun game, and price things to cover costs + make some profits. Other games (like stfc) are designed from the ground up to make a crap ton of money, and if there are fun aspects in there too, well... sure. Happy accident. But its never the main goal.

If you want off the ride, take it from those who quit already; there are other games out there. Sunk cost fallacy is a heck of a thing, but the time you spent in this game already has nothing to do with the time you do or don't spend today or in the future in it.

Try aug space. The chasers give a ridiculous amount of charge per kill, then nuke a guy in the same system. T5 move to dominion space. Also, card space is decent. Carassia ,the system, is one of the only systems that can spawn a lvl 31 with sub 36k hull health.

I'll be at lvl31 indefinitely. Beam with the cube at tier 1 is about 23k. Cardi requires 2 beams= about 16 hostiles. Too many other players to hit a target twice there. Aug space requires enough traveling to make it as slow as most other systems/ combo of systems. Almost a day and a half of moving and experamenting and I can't find anything better than what I described above.

I'm not even sure this is true. Its entirely possible the most profitable course of action for them is to milk the whales by catering to them as long they can, then just dump the game and make a new one once it starts petering out. They know nothing lasts forever, and they really couldn't care less if the game dies and they have to make a new one. A new game is potentially more whale money at the start anyway. This has been the pattern with other fremium games, including others from Scopely.

Whales WILL try new games (whatever motivates them to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a mobile game isn't just going to go away if their current game dies), and once they develop relationships with people who work at a gaming company they are more likely to choose a game from that company again in the future. They're treated like high-rollers at a casino... and casinos WILL burn half their casino to the ground if it means entertainment for a giant whale for a weekend.

We really want to believe that an active ecosystem of players is essential to the whales being happy, but the evidence shows otherwise. Player after player leaves, and still the whales spend. Because whaling is all about the whale, not the health of the ocean... and there's always another ocean to be royalty in.

There was once a pack on sale which was actually uninteresting, but there was a lot of tritanium in it, many of my alliance had bought it, the next day, the tritanium was gone. Many people demanded their money back, and there was a lot of stress with scopely's lousy support about it. But in the end they got it back. One player quit as a result - level 56. So always keep an eye on your inventory! Scopely has done this without notice.

Scopely it’s getting beyond a joke now, the game performance is terrible, for me (and I’m sure many others) half the time I change ship the game crashes on me. I didn’t pay for extra docks to be able to actively use one ship at a time.

Please fix the cutting beam damage. You have fixed values that are literally just short of the hull health of the target and your scan doesn’t show that detail.

It’s a joke that I need to go completely one level down because of 150 extra health on the hull.
Other tiers are the same at t3 cube I had a hostile with 400 hull more then the cutting beam.
Seems like an easy fix if the beam damage was even 1k more each tier these hostiles wouldn’t be an issue.

@digital bridge Major improvements needed on officer sourcing but it is continuing to be ignored. Over a year since DS9 arcs started, yet we still have zero sourcing for Kira, Julian, Odo and Jadzia.
Voyager arcs are done, zero sourcing for Neelix and 7. The sourcing on the other officers is terrible, but available.
Strike Team officers. Zero sourcing outside of incursions and YOU DONT RUN THEM CONSISTENTLY ENOUGH to make it viable sourcing.
Multiple other officers are ignored for sourcing as well with zero or convoluted sourcing.

The treasury mechanic is the greatest f2p to spend converter they've ever made. The most intense FOMO generator.

You need to spend like 75 dolla total to get to the 100 dolla key. 5 dolla key, 20 dolla key, 50 dolla key. The next key will be locked at 100 and then you can f2p open the 100 dolla key in perpetuity.

It's a common misconception that pack spend has to do with key level. When the treasury first came out, it was based on your pack spend. But I bought several 100 dolla packs after it came out and my key was always cheap key. You need to buy the key itself to unlock the next key spend level

So- I received notification in game for a compensation gift... It appeared as a Bonus Elite Daily Reward Pack (70 tokens). I was expecting the tokens to add to the total tokens that I already have for purchasing the November pack... This does not appear to be the case. After claiming this morning I had 170 tokens left. I expected that adding 70 should have brought the total up to 240- or 230 after I claimed the first one. Currently I have 160- simply a reduction of 10 instead of an increase of 60.

This research was bugged when it was introduced and only worked on mantis when it released. A couple months ago it was fixed to work with all ships as described. The arc patch rolled back the fix, among all the other stuff that got rolled back. This is allegedly on the radar of the devs and hopefully to be fixed soon

Why it seems like upgrading the borg cube is more on the lines of down grading it ? It now takes twice as much to time to power up cutting beam to have to use it 2 -3 more times against the lvl 31’s despite having upgraded the cube and cube specifically tech as well as officer tech and officer just to have the same lvl ships cost more time and more number of hits . For a powerful ship it sucks when by the time you can get beam to kill 1 your cargo is already full . When it was t1 lvl1-10 I kill 2 lvl 38s and beam is charged and it took 2 hits on lvl 31 to destroy now it’s t2/3 almost 3/4 and it takes twice as much to charge and almost twice as much to destroy lvl31 . What piece of junk since upgrading it and tech doesn’t improve charge time or damage it does

Territory is being reset following a server merge. The fresh scramble for territory against unknown people doesn't leave room for a Diplo angle. By the time new territory is decided you've already lost out too much, even with the 'gift' of points received for Scopely breaking territory TO this month

Yes, but not the new one. That is still locked on a fixed time.
For example. Claiming the syndicate stuff right after event reset gives you the option to claim it next day before event reset. Thats an advantage for the syndicate xp event.
If the claim is locked at a fix time, you probably cant do this and have to wait. Same for free event tickets that are not claimable until event reset. So you can only claim 20 instead of 30

You are correct in one thing, it IS super weak. However, I can tell you that you are using it incorrectly. The Borg Cube T3 cutting beam will easily destroy L33 hostiles in one hit, assuming you target the correct hostiles. Spoiler alert, surveys are NOT the correct hostiles. Good luck!

This game is as unstable and buggy as it ever has been. With crashes multiple times per day due to the ‘quality of my internet connection’ which coincidentally my fellow alliance members have at the same time, game freezes when you open chests, invisible Anomaly mines, ships in systems not properly synced so not being displayed in the correct position, pink mines, ships that have warped being displayed in the origin system until they reach their destination etc.. There are so many UI and user experience bugs and annoyances that have crept in over the recent months that you have to wonder whether any testing is done at all before release. I work for a software development company and I do understand that testing is both time consuming and difficult but that is not a reason to not do it or not do it well.

Scopely my suggestion is simple create beta servers to test new content released to the public before releasing to address problems. Recruit from your player base by offering pay in packs to test. On another note do a prolonged maintenance to address the many issues in the game with a compensation chest that actually covers what players would have been able to earn during maintenance. Finally when you have a great idea like the collect all button ( which should of been added as normal feature for all players) don’t lock it reputation in an attempt to milk even more money from the player base for syndicate packs to earn it. With respect I no longer make purchases in game due to the quality of the game, that said I’m not alone, please increase the quality fix the game and I bet your profits would improve and you could quit trying to persuade players to buy things by locking it behind rep.

Would’ve been nice if the November “Bonus” pack were an actual bonus (you know, for the holidays?). Should’ve been called an Acceleration Pack because it’s not giving a bonus anything, it just burns through the limited tokens faster. An actual bonus pack would’ve been awesome!

—Especially after all the disruptions we endured through this arc launch, the roughest ever, that actually prevented us from playing parts of the game for over a week.

I mean I get it. You had a huge backlog of issues to resolve and there’s no way to rush that.

But showing some real consideration for the players in situations like this would go a long long way towards cultivating goodwill and some extra joy in the game (and maybe even keep more of the good active players who quit playing).

A year or so ago, after a rough launch, you gave a compensation chest that included a month’s worth of Elite tokens. We heard the generous amount was a mistake, but it was appreciated!

I wonder: How did pack sales go that month? I’m guessing there was a spike. There’s nothing like feeling appreciated and having hope to inspire a loosening of the purse strings.

Speaking for myself, I’m much more open to making an investment in fun when I’m feeling happy and hopeful that it will last, but not when that fun thing is unreliable and the vendor seems indifferent.

They do sort it out (eventually) and never give anyone any type of compensation, because scopy is stingy and miserly, and they have conditioned their player base to “take it like a champ”. For the borg cube supposedly being the strongest ship why does it continue to suck as you upgrade it? I have mines at t4 and it still can’t destroy a lvl 31 in one shot what junk. I’ve upgraded everything I’m highly disappointed in it. At least with all the other new ships as I upgraded them I could see improvements as for cube the more I upgrade it the worse it seems to get. Even with its tech upgrades.

You're hunting in the wrong systems then KaDrago. You can one shot level 36s with a tier 4 in systems like Vanir. Scan the 31s you're hitting and check the hull health, then compare that to the cutting beam power in the ship management menu.

Why can I not use higher level ship parts in place of lower level ones when upgrading ship components? I'm swimming in 5* parts but need 4* to tier specialty ships - making me grind 4* hostiles to get broken parts for the refinery is such a big waste of time. I have to say that I've been excited to build the borg cube but that has worn off now...

The reason for that is I cannot upgrade the cube from T5 to T6 because I need to have the faction ships (Valdore, Kelvin, K'T'Inga) to T6.

Now, I have to ask, based on what have the above requirements been set??

How many OPS 42 players have a T6 4* grade faction ship???? Mine is only T4 and I don't see myself going to T6 anytime soon...

So I have a T5 Cube, ~ 4M power, with a astonishing 164000 dmg beam...at OPS 42 and it doesn't matter that I have the ENT/AUGUR/D4 maxed and still faction ships..

Who did think this will be fun??

Also, second note to ignore, 4th Apex event has finished a few days back and still no changes - same 2 limit on spending the credits and no addition to the Apex store! So no way to get rid of the 39K of contraband credits!!

And last thing, as I've seen the latest store additions - be prepared for a wave of complaints from all those who will buy upgrade packages for the cube and realize they can't....

I have played STFC for awhile the one thing that has always frustrated me the most is having to return to base to change crew even if all crew is already on the ship. So why without going back to base can Kirk say to Spock or Picard to Riker take the bridge in this version it take us home then you can take the helm. Why if the crew is on the ship should you not, without going back to base, change positions of crew if they are on an open slot in the ship.

First of all - the successful destroyed hostile with the beam gives you these resources, you need for research and developing the cube itself. It quite the same logic of grinding ressources as for other ships but in another way.
You could also make some fireworks with your whole alliance in a system, if you have fun with it. That's your funny choice to have a good time with your friends. With the Stella, Voyager or Talios, you could not do the same nice fireworks. 🥳🍻

As the milestone for the Borg cube is T6 of the faction ship, we need a way to source the Rare ship parts. First remember this is a Heroic for a reason. But second it is 15 per Directive used and you need 200 to call a Rare and 500 for an Epic. So you get 3,000 Points per call and thatr means based on needing 93750 points to completed you need 34 Rare if my math is correct.

The more complex they make the Events or the more Events they run side by side, the more the lag. Every. Single. Time. Work on the efficiency of the Events and how they work in the background code before you try things like the current Neelix's Grand Banquet. Your servers just can't handle the load Scopely.

Hope you had a Scopely accound then. Get through the Tutorial, get access to the options screen and login to your account again. Should be there if it's the normal "Lag removed your account details from the client" bug that usually hits whenever there's Epic Lag

I had been reset to the beginning and I'm on Server 97. When I learned it was working, I started the app, went to settings, logged into scopely and chose "NO" on the game settings question. I'm back, but there were a bunch of officers (all of em) saying "new" that I had to cycle through to quit getting them to alert. Other than that, I'm back where I was this morning before the glitch.

has anyone else had their Voyager, Defiant and Cerritos special abilities freeze? cooldown reaches 00s and never resets (for a few hours at least) restarting game and computer, clearing cache, switching docks...nothing fixes it except waiting a few hours for it to fix itself.

This is a known issue that 'I' keep telling ppl who constantly ignore me: shax is useless.
He is useless because he wont start until round 2 (given burning from laan in round 1).
And Freeman starts off the bat.

So whilst IST iso and EST iso have natural benefits from working in round 1 (like freeman), BST iso does not.

Are there any plans to fix the frequent crashes? About ever 5-10 minutes I get either... a confirmation that internet has crashed and need to restart... boot straight back to the iOS home screen, a spinny waiting icon... or a confirmation that I've done something but there is no buttons to continue so I have to restart the app again. Or my favorite, the rapid flashing refresh!

Even if it wasn't true, no one could stop a 63+ on a server full of 40s and 50s, because Scopley refuses to give us any possible way of punching up, only down. They won't fix PvP banding, so 60s can still hit 40s. Realta burn? Gone. Mantis sting? Titan-A. Pon? Prime Station Delay. Cube for instant kill at range? Only works if they are weaker than you. It's disgusting how much whale-pandering goes on, and they refuse to acknowledge that if they drive all the smaller "prey" from the game, they'll have no one left to fight but each other...and god forbid they are presented with an actual challenge they can't throw money at to win.

What get's me about computer programming is the fact that programmers have no idea how much one missed keystroke can cause too much chaos. I learned back in the early 1990's when I was in college for Computer Science was that when it comes to Computer Programming, one thing still rings true even more today, and that is, "Keep everything simple." Instead of one long program which takes tens of thousands of pages to write, make the main program into a series of function calls which divides up everything into shorter, easier to manage programs. Why try to find a missed keystroke in a sea of paper when you can find it easier in one of many smaller piles of paper. DUH.

Game works extremely well on my iPad, can play for hours without major issues. I think i’ve had it crash once, but otherwise none of the issues some people keep reporting. I have no idea why either.
