I have 2 PCs with identical hardware. Both PCs are connected to Salad with the same account. Problem is, both have the same machine ID in the Salad App and also in the Earning History. Even if both PCs are farming, I only get paid for 1. I also have the feeling, both are starting jobs the same time and stopping the same time.
How can I get a different machine ID for my second PC?

No. But both Windows has the same Username.

machine ID is based on the windows uuid, something set when installing windows
to have the same machine ID on two machines, you need the same windows uuid

real installation. refreshing will not change the uuid because many apps rely on it staying the same

you get the ID when the machine earns for the first time
maybe that's why it didn't show for the last 2 attempts

I checked the ID in Windows too, so it was 2 times the same. But the 3rd time it worked, I got a different ID and both PCs now working separately as intended 🙂

interesting. did you do a refresh rather than a reinstall? or like an in-place upgrade without deleting files?

Everytime a real installation, not just refreshing. The first try I did it with internet connected, so I had to login with my Microsoft Account. And I got the same ID as before. Second try I did without internet connection. After the install was done, I connected to the internet and logged in with my Microsoft Account. Same ID again. 3rd try I did the same as the second try, but now I got a different ID. Dunno why, I did nothing different.
So. If you have same hardware and already the same windows ID, it can be tricky with the reinstall...
