Soluction restart pc . Unresolved Problem
I have this same situation with 7800x3d and 4060 ti 16gb. uninstalled/reinstalled salad, restarted multiple times.
use your integrated graphics on cpu to output video to monitor, then restart. make sure to exit any game launchers that start on startup. then start salad
thats the easiest way to ensure nothing is using ur gpu/vram
I've done that, still getting the error though
did u restart after switching the cable?
try downgrading the nvidea drivers to 555.85 . it worked here and for some others. use DDU uninstall to remove the drivers .
552.44
you can also try just dropping your screen resolution to 1080. it's worked for me and others. very annoying, but it's a working temporary fix
Thanks, that worked. Makes sense because several weeks ago I was using a DVI to HDMI adapter that limited my resolution to 1080p automatically, and then when I switched to pure HDMI to my tv, thats when the errors started. I have two 7800x3ds, the one with the 4060 ti at 4K was getting constant errors, but the other with a 4080 Super at 4k mostly runs fine unless I am watching Youtube, then it gives me errors once in a while. Makes me suspect the VRAM check is just too demanding, depending on the card and the resolution. Need to have a little more breathing room.
I resolved
Me to. nothing else running. 3060/7950x3D/32ram
monitor running on integrated gpu and still errors. if happen no error there is still just calculating. does not work. Work only if my mining is on.
glad it worked. 🙂 you are correct, support openly told me they lowered the threshold for those errors to trigger and i've also personally noticed that gpu containers are spiking up to 10-11 gb on my 4070 (12 gb) when they never went that high previously. i've talked about this with people who've had this issue with 4090s even (24 gb vram) running nothing else and leaving their pc idle. as long as i keep my resolution down to 1080, i can watch netflix or youtube with no issues. not ideal, but i can live with it for now. hopefully they don't keep it this way.
Reboot computer, try a Nvidia driver from the pro line, reboot again, and see if that helps. Make sure to select manual install and check the box that says uninstall current or wipe current driver. Current stable build for Nvidia drivers from professional drivers seems to be 560.70
My gpu is integrated gpu from amd cpu and my gpu only have 512mb of vram and is that good or not? I only have 1 gpu
@fair magnet Salad only supports Nvidia GPU cards. AMD hardware for graphics is not supported. Even if it was, sadly integrated graphics chipsets do not have the power necessary to do workloads. I believe Salad will allow you to crypto mine on that configuration, but you will not get the container workloads at all.
I have got it from 512 mob of vram to 4gb of vram and now I have 12gb of ram left on my laptop
I believe you have some ideas crossed. Vram is dedicated video memory. That usually is part of a standalone video card. System RAM is the memory your computer uses for daily work and tasks, Hard drive space is where things are stored. Sometimes in a laptop they do install discrete GPU graphics in the laptop itself. However, it sounds as though your laptop has integrated graphics off the cpu. Sometimes AMD refers to this as an APU. You do not have 512gb of video memory. If you have discreet graphics in the laptop it's likely to be 4 to 6gb. If you don't, your CPU is allocating some of your System ram to the integrated GPU. The 512GB is likely referring to your hard disk space. Not that any of this matters anyway. AMD graphics will not work on salad
You have to have Dedicated Nvidia based graphics cards for Salad. You can use AMD processors but the graphics must be NVIDA. Discreet graphics cards are found in laptops, but it sounds like yours is not. So, no salad for you on that machine sadly.
