#supper slow down and increased reward prices.

I was hoping to finally get a 4060 12gb for salad as I'm pretty much 24/7 but this last week I've earned like 13c, with two machines on 24/7. It's the lowest earnings ever, I've also noticed all the rewards cost more now aswell.

Would getting a 4060 just to dedicate to this be worth my while or will I have moments where I'm literally paying to give you my compute power?

You'd wanna run some calculations on the profitability of that, considering electricity costs, the initial cost of the gpu, the likelihood of getting an underpaying job, and subtracting salad's storefront markups.

#

There is no 4060 12gb, do you mean the 3060 12gb? or 4060ti 16gb?

#

The 3060 would likely earn between $1.20 to $1.80 a day, whereas the 4060ti can earn up to a couple dollars a day - though of course can still get underpaying jobs.

I wouldn’t call them underpaying jobs per se, just workloads that aren’t worth as much

similar to how I almost always have a good container with the 4070tiS and some people go for days without a single container with the same hardware

My daily cycle : $4+ failing container >> $2.3 100% GPU Load container >> $1.8 High RAM container >> no job until i unregister/reinstall salad
End up at $2/day earning. My other 4060ti rarely got any job.

must be on salad's side since i made a full reinstall and still have the same issue

man the amount of misinformation…

gusty quarry
# midnight basin It's due to lack of customers so salad has to give discounts

bulk discounts incentivize customers to run more container workloads, the discounts are not there to get customers in the first place

the lower container values are because of the different types of containers. for example, let’s say I’m a customer and I just want to run SDXL but don’t care what GPU I get. I’ll choose the “stable diffusion ready” option and that is a fixed price per hour, it doesn’t matter which card it is run on. if a better workload is available (and there is an open system that can run the stable diffusion workload) then your device will switch to the higher-paying workload.

#

this is a screenshot from the customer side. the stable diffusion compatible workloads are about ~$1.92/day before any bulk discounts are applied, it could possibly drop lower if the customer makes enough replicas

#

Legacy GPU would explain the $1.20 containers

do you have the Adult Workloads available in your region (sorry if I already asked)

you can check by going to workload preferences and scrolling down to workload types and clicking “let me choose”. if is is grayed out, then you don’t have access
