Prior to the latest update, I was able to mine using another application (Kryptex), and when Salad had a container job available, it would simply takeover GPU priority until the job was finished. Now, I get "the insufficient VRAM" message popup, even though my GPU is a 4080 Super. It seems it can no longer distinguish that the GPU is simply being used by another program.

The mining on Kryptex would reduce to a trickle or stop completely while the container job was working

I'm not aware of a mechanism by which Salad would take over another miner/game/something using GPU.
Unless Kryptex has some auto-stop mechanism, it's probably like a regular miner it would simply slows both sides to a crawl, effectively not providing promised performance to Salad.
Also miners often take 8-16GB of VRAM so if new salad jobs announced recently take another 8-16GB it would explain insufficient VRAM (maybe before you had smaller containers and/or kryptex miners)
Anyway, I would not suggest you do that. You risk getting disabled/warned by Salad as they are starting to monitor that stuff more.

also your gpu can make up to $7/day with Salad, and you can use the money from that to buy more bitcoin than you’ll get from mining

When Salad pays $1.2 I agree. but if Salad pays >$4 (which should be regular with a 4080, you could buy $2 worth of BTC from that still make more in the end. But you do you.
