#Any guesses on how much CPU Containers will get us?

no one knows
hence the guesses part
Personal guesses warning. Not confirmed info whatsoever. Can be completely wrong.
I'm personally thinking that most people won't earn over $1 a day with just CPU Containers, maybe some people could make more if they have a good CPU, or get lucky.
I feel like GPU Containers will earn us much more - at least, the people with decent GPUs. Decent GPUs being maybe 2070's and higher.
id say at most 1$-1.5$ per day if you have a beast of a cpu
earnings will also depend if salad has customers, and probably what kind of work the customers want salad's containers to run
beast of a CPU as in what?
Like a 12/16+ core CPU released within the past few years, imo
id imagine a server cpu like a ryzen epyc
ah well yeah that'd be an absolute beast of a CPU
just asking to have a bit of an idea of how much earnings will be lol
my gpu is an AMD Radeon HD 7900 which is not supported for cryptomining so
for example i have a r7 3750h, i would be guessing ill be making 20-30ish cents per day maybe?
like i consider my cpu to be kinda mid tier
my cpu is a intel core i3 9th gen
If you take like 20-30% off the estimated cost (for Salad's cut), https://salad.com/pricing could be used as a very rough earnings "calculator" - with many grains of salt.
vCPUs are basically threads on your CPU
my i7 12 gen has 20 threads zz
noice
but laptop
lapop
and RAM wouldn't be total system RAM, it'd be how much is available for it to use, after other applications have yoinked some
i wonder if itll be possible to both cryptomine and use containers lol
hmm
well if there isn't any container workloads currently running, it could be mining
tru
what if u dont want it to mine
but run containers
but I don't think that Salad's logic is smart enough to smartly limit the mining usage, leaving enough for the container workload(s)
salad will loose a lot of members then ig
I am hoping that they'll separate mining and containers in the full release - or even the next update ;-;
yeah i hope too
It's not even that difficult to separate them
if they only want the sweet sweet 1$/24h yea
if they do then ill run it on my main laptop since i dont really want it mining
i mean mining temps are around 72c so gud
thats just temporary
yea
lol I want it so im tellin
Anyway tysm for the answers
oh yeah it's definitely possible :)
they've already distinguished GPU mining and CPU mining, whereas before it was just CPU and GPU
true
I hope they have a different workload for like different tiers of cpus
like different for dual cores, different for quad cores and depending on the new 12th gen architecture that it only uses efficiency cores, but uses more of them compared to just hogging 4 p cores out of 6...
maybe mine would be around 10 cents a day since I have a i3 3217u which is a really bad cpu
Well they won't exactly have a different workload specifically for each of those differences, but they will take those differences into consideration when assigning you workloads. Like if you have a bunch of cores, you could be assigned a couple workloads that use multiple cores. And if you don't have as many cores, you could be assigned probably a single workload that doesn't use as many cores.
Maybe.
Little 10 year olds with hella rich parents: dad, I can earn 3 dollars a day with my threadripper!
Wait, its guaraanted around 10 cents a day with THAT cpu?
Theyre rich, why would they need it anyways
"maybe"
i am talking about containers bruh
for when it will be released
oh
me earning about 92 cents a day with vmnem using about 40% cpu
because youre supposed to earn around that in the beta
yes that's what you asked
no
92 cents
