Unfortunately, Salad has discontinued support for Mac / Linux, and newer versions of Salad won't support them.
While some old versions may still work, we cannot make any guarantees that it will, and Salad will not be able to provide any support should you encounter an issue.

Mac / Linux users only made up a very small percentage of Salad's userbase, while taking up a significant amount of Salad's resources to maintain said versions of the app.
For the time being, it'd unfortunately just be financial suicide if Salad were to pursue maintaining Mac / Linux versions of the app, rather than working on the new container workloads and bandwidth sharing for the majority of its userbase - People running Windows 10/11.

well we don't know that it's never coming back, just unlikely in the foreseeable future
i'm sure they're not opposed to the idea if something big happens
