This is not true. I have Gb net and running 2 ms latency and I have computers that won't download it. Currently, I only have 1 computer that will run it and do work and 1 that will run it occasionally yet does no actual work out of 16 computers total.

Everything else works no prob.

Any of y'all tried running bandwidth sharing on the raspberry pi? Not sure if it even works on Linux wine but if it does it basically saves a shit ton of money due to them being very cheap to power

yes, I agree with you from a win-win standpoint( dunno if that's a real standpoint but ok) but that generally does mean that ur pc is less efficient, again I'm not saying your taking an L from getting heat from ur pc while gaining money, but my laptop consumes 65 watts of electricity directly from the wall as I've set a limit on my battery charge limit, it doesn't really heat up a big ass room as mine

infact I lose heat faster than I gain from the laptop

and salad is so slow as of today it doesn't even seem like waiting

that's why I kept asking for help on the situation

and gas is cheaper than electricity so for me heating with gas is cheaper than relying on a 500-1000w pc to heat up my room

I think they ran out of workloads for the time being and are distributing what they have until they get more and come out of beta. I don't think they anticipated how many people would be using as well as multiple rigs. Just my opinion based on what little knowledge we have.

I think they just did what they really should have from the beginning - only allowing one device per IP. Having more than one device on the same IP would share the same amount of bandwidth, but could also be seen as artificially increasing the amount of shared resources you have.
Salad assumes that each device is running on a different connection, so assumes each device can handle the speeds acquired from the infrequent bandwidth tests they run, within a margin of error.
Now, if multiple devices are running Bandwidth Sharing on the same network, their effective maximum speed will be 1 / {Number of devices running Bandwidth Sharing}. You can see how this can be an issue; They expect certain speeds, so jobs befitting of those provided speeds are given to you. Though as soon as those jobs begin, each Bandwidth Sharing device begins competing with eachother for bandwidth - both download and upload of course.
This results in the customer not receiving their expected speeds, which can very easily become a big issue for Salad.
In this case, it makes perfect sense to me for Salad to restrict Bandwidth Sharing to one device per IP.

If a person has 1 or 2 Gb bandwidth and you are only sharing 20 mb worth of data then you should be allowed to share more. A person with only 50 or 100 Mb sharing off 10 computers would be a different story.

The issue with this thinking is that you are assuming that Salad only uses a small amount of your bandwidth - This is very rarely the case, if at all. Salad will try to use as much of your bandwidth as it can, from what I've seen myself.

If I recall correctly, you're in the US, right? Compared to the other supported countries, there are much fewer bandwidth sharing jobs over there, unfortunately. I had forgotten this was the case, so it wasn't factored into my message.

I know how it works, I have been monitoring it for three months. What's your point? Bandwidth was only using 200Mb/s at most when I had 15 rigs running. Now, It may get somewhere around 7-10Mb/s but usually stays at 1 or less. I work from home, so I have been here to actually pay attention.
