+when salad detects the pc has switched to battery it auto stops. and when its back to plugged in it auto restarts. this will be especially useful for people who mine on a laptop. since a power outage midnight + salad running will drain battery (plus. my laptop at full speed lasts only a hour on battery) and shutdown the computer. and if power comes back after that I might be losing a couple of hours of mining time.

+how about a "intelligent autostart" basically when salad detects that you are not really afk but not using your gpu (lets say you are watching youtube idk) in most cases your dgpu is left alone salad can mine on that gpu. when it detects a load on dgpu/a drop in hashrate it can autostop. would be pretty useful.

+a modular design. salad page could have options to install modules for your miner. this will allow people to customize their miner according to their liking. the modules can be either proprietary or community made. the modules might help people with different needs. for example a user might never need the ideas mentioned above. modules will be open source.

Hello, feature requests are done on the reddit what is linked in #salad-feedback-old , if they are done on the discord the salad team doesn't see them and they will get ignored.

wait why do we have the feature request flair here then thonkang

The first two ideas sound nice - though the third one likely won't happen, as Salad is now optimising which miners are chosen on a per-GPU basis (rather than based on the VRAM size / manufacturer), which should mean that everybody is absolutely mining the most profitable coin. No need to change miner if it's already the best weSmart

Also with salad cloud coming out within this year or the next we wont be mining but sharing our compute power to newer workloads that are normally done on aws or azure

Salad intentionally doesn't have overclocking features - or even really recommend it. If there were a super rare case where damage were to be caused as a result of a really bad overclock profile, Salad doesn't want to be held accountable for it.

heres the thing. overclocking breaks stuff for me

#

games i play crash more often for some reason after overclock

void mist
#

that's a pretty good sign that your overclock profile is too extreme

Well the first problem is that you're trying to max out sliders dogkek

fiery lotus

the above screenshot is a joke. this is my usual overclock profile

What card is that? Unless it has really bad boost tables, +200 core may be the issue

So true!

Take it on ln2 and make it go brrr

#

Without having any hands on time with it, I'd suspect that the core clock might be the problem

fiery lotus
#

150 should be good?

#

however core voltages just dont exist

brittle citrus
#

Find a voltage, ctrl + l, move the plot point at that voltage to the core clock you want. And provided that clock + voltage combination doesn't exceed some limit on the card (most likely power limit) you should be golden
