how do people make mods?
What type of mods
Like are you trying to create a whole new model

uhh so with the mesh it a bit like weird
what do you do if mita has a bunch of stuff moka is missing
do you just skip it
like take the hair for example
mita has like 20 different vertexes and moka has 2
and also what do i do for stuff like this since mita is wearing some weird shirt it cuts off but moka has a collar do i just delete to collar stuff or do i just imagine that mita has it

Is the mod getting loaded in the first place? check the Melon console
theres two ways you can do this, re weight paint the neck region of the base body to match collar. Use body bones to influence the collar more to bend properly.
Just play around with bone influences until it stops clipping
Im using BepInEx - but true, its not even loading ..
Check if the files are in the correct place, can't help you much outside of that because i use Melonloader myself

yeah you need to paint it to match the articulation.
im not a great teacher, all i can do is tell ya what you need to do. Theres tutorials online on weight painting

you need to select the skeleton in object mode, then select pose or edit to see it in more detail, you are already in wire frame mode which helps see the bones
those black triangles on the first picture are bones
which they looked really fudged btw

duplicate the base mita bones your replacing the mesh with, and use that entire skeleton
Thats the best way, but youll have to re rig the entire mesh

Yep, i spent 2 or 3 days rigging, re rigging, adjusting scale, bones animations and it still was pretty okay
its not an easy process, but if you do it right first, you don't have to do it again

that whole collection, just duplicate it, and delete meshes out of it, all you want in the skeleton
then line up your new mesh to the skeleton using scale and apply scale to all mesh/scaled objects

Yes
Scale your mesh to match bones, ctrl+p to parent them together with automatic weights if your lazy, and then edit until it bends properly

Yes your supposed to, you make a duplicate of all the mesh parts, then merge them together so you can rig one entire part, then re seperate

Well I really wanted to make a mod but I don't even know where to start. Is there any kind soul who can help me?
to make a mod you need:
- download and install BepInEx/MelonLoader that will allow mods to run
- enough experience in C# programming language to write your own mod
- download dnSpy and Cpp2IL to look at the game's code so you know what you can change or do with your mods
- use UnityExplorer and some asset ripper if you need models from the game
these are minimal requirements

i dont know how to get this mod to work
u need asset loader and also the bepinex thing asset loader is linked on the website and bebinex on the asset loader website
u put the bepinex into the miside folder
then the assetloader into the bepinex plugin folder
then u put the assimp.dll from the assetloader into the MiSide folder
then u put the ddlc mod into the asset foalder in the assetloader
(the one for all dokis)
the mod for the singular dokis goes into the MiSide/Data/Custom folder
i havent gotten the Monika sprite for the 2d Mita version running yet if someone knows how to install that one pls let me know
What do you guys do if your custom model is smaller than the bones (i.e. smaller arm span)

I couldn't find a way to do that cuz each boob bone is responsible for just the mesh on one side
when I tried to do both sides at once using symmetrize I ended up binding both legs to the same bone
but someone smarter than me probably knows a way

it took me basically all day starting rusty, these things helped tho:
separate by loose parts so you can work on a single part at a time
use high weight and low strength to paint
use keyframes to test joints without having to tab out and reposition each time
use automatic weights, you'll have to do cleanup but its faster in the end
you can edit mita's rig by moving/rotating bones to fit your characters mesh
i have no clue how to do any of that my man
