it works like when you transfer a file from a device from a different one using a wire, let me explain, so imagine you are doing that and in the middle of the transfering you disconect it, the file will corrupt and no longer work, in the game's case, that is a perma death for the player, but if the process of sending the file from device 1 to device 2 is finished and you disconnect it, the file will now be in the device 2, in this case, the REAL you is device 1, and the cartridge is device 2, so in the end of the game we don't get killed, we just get in coma probably

Crazy Mita didn't killed us because all the data was already in the cartridge, 100%, there was nothing to damage so it was safe to take the cartridge out, leading us probably to a Coma, but if we do it, in both situations when the progress bar is not full yet, we are basically interrupting the transfering, making us die, like a corrupted file, if we took our cartridge at 100% instead of dying something like the end of the game could have happened, slowly lagging
