How can I tell my parents that I wanna be a streamer, not an engineer?😭 they expecting me to be an ai engineer, but I actually prefer being a streamer instead of that (btw I'm in the middle of a noisy wedding while I'm writing this-)

I mean, not great advice but do you have to tell them? Like not to lie and what not but at the end of the day its your life, not thiers and what makes you happy is what makes you happy. Their opinion im sure matters but again, its your life at the end of it

These are just my thoughts. Firstly, hope you enjoyed the wedding. I think it’s okay to not tell them. Rather wait for a time when it’s clear to anyone the benefits like when your raking in money from streaming, that would make it obvious that it’s beneficial.

In my opinion, parents only request big jobs like that because they’ll know that it will sustain you for your life. I’d even go as far to assume if you became an engineer and do streaming on the side and then go to streaming once it becomes a stronger job for you (income wise), that they’d be okay with it. Though I can imagine they’d likely be reluctant at first since the idea of streaming and living from it isn’t really old enough.

It is your life and like the above person said. What make you happy is what makes you happy. Just my personal thought is that the skills would be useful to have but if it doesn’t make you happy, it’s meh.
