here are some subtopics for a debate i can think of if thats what ur asking for:

  • suffering : animals can feel pain ( elaborate )
  • your responsibility on what we can do : your responsibility and power as a human ( elaborate )
  • its impact : ( elaborate )
  • where animal cruelty is found often : for profits ( elaborate )
  • what it could bring to some weak willed people : ( trauma/distress/emotional behaviour ) ( elaborate)
  • sentience of animals : ( elaborate on how they can feel emotions too )
  • impact on ecosystem ( elaborate on how imbalanced it'd be )
  • science : ( elaborate on how science can provide more humane ways instead of animal cruelty )
#

Idk if it's still ok
but huh
Here's smt from my fried brain

Animal cruelty is unethical
The use of animals: food and science (meds and others, cosmetics - basically what will be given to humans + pets
Can also discuss "why it's considered normal" (animal kingdom, stronger over weaker, why should it matter for us, and why should we act differently -> morals and ethics
Why is it unethical: using smt only for our own goals, questioning about feeling/thinking/living (which level should we consider), respect and justice, the notion of pain (we should not inflict pain to others (humans or animals
Alternative: different food regimes, and 3R rules in science, giving up on certain things
