whereas youve got characters like venti and xiao who have a fully developed story, a reason that they are the way they are, and solid character development both with their relationship with the traveler and just them in themselves, ei's story arc is literally just one day she's trying to kill you and the next she's your best friend
yes i understand the shogun and ei are not the same person
but from inazuma's omnipresence over mortals where the traveler actually almost died THREE TIMES because of her to her first story quest, there's no development nor explanation
like even if ei has little clue what happened and it was technically the shogun who almost killed us 2/3 times, shouldnt the traveler be at least a little like "wait a sec, you scare me"
like paimon freaks out for a minute and then everything's fine

i get ei is really horrified at reality due to makoto's death and she has every right to be
it just makes no sense how it was done
there needed to be an interlude like all senses clear all existence void (where we get all of scaramouche's past) or SOMETHING
because her story is horrifically done even though, if it was done well, it would have been one of if not THE best in the game
it's just not satisfying how her character was changed from the fierce shogun to the happy go lucky boomer girl, and it pains me that she was so horribly written

Idk the fact that ppl from Inazuma seemed to bounce back quickly after the Vision Hunt Decree throws me off too because her citizens literally died to change overthrow the decree…and they just brushed it off so quickly 😭

That pissed me off too, like everyone is just cool with her after all the shit she/her puppet did and she has done nothing we've seen to even attempt to make amends. By the time her quest was done I went from being neutral to having a character I actually hate.

She is absolutely the WORST archon in Teyvet, I'm calling that RIGHT NOW. Her actions are forgiven immediately by the people of Inazuma as if she was an absent fucking dictator for their entire lives. She left a defective puppet to take care of all of them who doesn't even know how to humanly make her people feel safe. She's stuck in her stupid backwards logic of "eternity" and faced absolutely zero repercussion for the Vision Hunt Decree. Ei herself is a garbage character who's only purpose is to get sales because now she falls into "oh so precious and oh so ditzy!!" character troupe. Don't even get me started on what she did to Scaramouche.
At least it's confirmed the Tsaritsa still loves her people 😒
