Fair question. — e4mc is genuinely simpler for joiners today since they don't need the mod. Voxel Port's current advantage is the room code UX and the fully in-game flow (no external apps or copy-pasting IP strings). The Discord
- membership requirement exists to gate relay abuse rather than lock people into an ecosystem, but I acknowledge that's still friction. The longer-term goal is to remove the joiner-side mod requirement so only the host needs it —
- similar to e4mc's model — while keeping the code-based UX. Right now it's best suited for communities that already use Discord together.
