A friendly reminder to NEVER download minecraft mods from dms, ask them to upload it to github, run it through a virus scanner. Yesterday i download a mod from dms that i thought was connected to my request, but it was a virus and now they have my family information and my childhood photos. Please be careful on the internet.

I still think that's overestimating the average discord user but if you really believe in the idea, better to request in #discord-suggestions that a mod makes a post, they won't likely pin one made by a relatively random person

you know, after thinking about it for .005 more seconds, its kinda insane to think that discord will just let you download jars/exes from random people without even giving you a warning
like theyll warn you that clicking on a link that says github.com will indeed take you to github.com, but downloading an executable from their own cdn isnt worth a popup lol i fell for the bait award 🏅
