#port flat colored blocks to 1.21.11 fabric (i actually need this one a lot)

It's probably on 1.21.1 because the author is a neoforge maintainer and that is their unofficial lts
is there no way to atleast port the functionality only? i only need the block itself with the possibility to change its color based on hex to chisel out the bit needed for what i'm doing, can't it be done without the common lib?
Oh it's 100% possible to port as a hard fork
That would just be a bit disrespectful if you know that the author is maintaining it
I'm not saying it can't be done. It's probably a 2 hour port if you just strip the multiloader bs
last upload was march of 2025, so he's prob not maintaining it, as it also only has less than a page of versions, plus, it has an MIT license so it can be modified and redistributed without any issues just keeping the same license
Well yes
Neo authors annoyingly believe that 1.21.1 is the version of Minecraft
I'm hoping 26.1 will change thzt
As for licence, sure, but I've found that authors don't think of it that way
I've had authors make their mod arr because I ported it lol
Which does nothing to an existing port, but better not to burn bridges with maintainers of modloaders
But whatever lol
It's not that big a deal. I'll take a look at a port when I get home
ok, one thing, 1) you'll be credited as the maker of the port (the og author will get credited for the mod), 2) you'll be credited in all my maps, as this will be the single most used mod outside of terrain stuff as recreating a 1:1 replica of the first generation planetary engine from gt not leisure in minecraft 1.21.11 is gonna need very specific colors
anyways, thx in advance
No need for that. Just credit the original author and remind people not to report issues from the port back to them
will still credit for the port and will 100% remind people to not report issues with the port to the mod author
i'll just tell people to report issues with it in my discord then i'll let you know
I did notice that there is a lot of stuff in the client that depends on that library
No promises I'll fix them, but sure whatever
alr
i will test the mod myself first anyway as it's needed for my maps so i'll let you know as soon as i find any major bug
yeah, looking at this closer, I think it would be better to wait for the author to port it, or request a port
literally every facet of this depends on their libraries, so it's like a 6 mod port
isn't it atleast possible to recreate it into a single mod?
it's kinda stupid, as there is no need for it to depends on those libraries, but that is what they chose to do
sure, by rewriting it to be not based on those libraries
the actual mod doesn't touch any modloader apis, and instead calls out to their 4 included libraries, so it would mean copy+pasting their libraries inline into the mod
which isn't fun to do
makes sense
oof
why did the creator have to use extra libssssss
port flat colored blocks to 1.21.11 fabric (i actually need this one a lot)
changing to mod update because a fabric version exists https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/flat-colored-blocks-fabric
If possible, I would need this pretty soon, like, i can wait a month with no problem but I need this
