I think it's the order that vertices of the triangle are sent to the GPU.
If you mess it up, the best case is that the triangle just doesn't render (because it is facing away from you instead of towards you).

I just started an OpenGL class, so I don't know much; we've barely touched on the basics of this.
I have a feeling I'm going to have a lot more experience with these matters in the next few months.
I'm prob gonna have to self-learn OpenGL ðŸ˜
