Had an interesting idea for Copper Pressure Plates. Instead of sending out a pulse while stood on, they send out a pulse when stepped off of.

Can be used for simple landmines as seen in the video below, but I'm interested to hear from others (specifically those who use Redstone) on what else this mechanic may be used for. Let me know what you think!

New Redstone component: Copper Pressure Plates. They activate when stepping off them, so you can create landmines and stuff like that.

Compact pressure plate + redstone torch?

It looks like you created a pressure plate that deactivates a redstone torch, compacting it into one block

Yeah it would deactivate a redstone torch for a moment, as long as the setup is correct

It seems like a replacement for a not gate and a pulse setter (? Shortener and extender).

#

Which I imagine would be quite big if it weren't for this

@hollow walrus if you needed/wanted a waxed variation, the unwaxed could cut the pulse short when stepped on while it's already on, and the waxed would not cut the pulse short.

#

I think it's a cool component

also i think there should be a sound for when you step onto the pressure plate

the jargon is always fun

#

why is the edge falling and why is it one stable (mono = one) and not two or three

frank arch

compare a bistable circuit like a redstone torch; it has two stable states.

no because one needs input and the other doesnt (off requires input)

#

a bistable circuit would be a lever

also i do agree it would need a sound for stepping on, i was thinking that during testing lol

Yes, but a decent amount of space. Remember, the copper bulb was just a t flip-flop in one block, but redstoners loved it

it is maybe something that gets lost in translation between electrical engineering and redstone, but i think something like a d flip flop would still be considered bistable even though it requires constant power to give a high output. with redstone it gets messy because there’s no distinction between power input and signal input except in very special cases
