Mod for ingame capes and cosmetics for a new project!

Hello, I'm looking for someone to help code a mod for our project.

We're creating a service where people can choose from a catalog of free-to-use capes and even upload their own. To do this, we're using OptiFine to add capes and cosmetics. Sadly, no one uses OptiFine anymore, and we'd need someone to code us a mod to import the capes and cosmetics into the game to show up on every one of our users' accounts with either the mod or OptiFine installed. We're currently working on the website, already have capes and cosmetics working in-game (with OptiFine), have a catalog of amazing-looking free capes and cosmetics (made by professional pixel artists), and a working Microsoft login with account switching.

Obviously everything is a work in progress and me and a friend are designing and coding this in our free time, but we believe that this has a lot of potential, as there is no mod / service out there which delivers a high quality curated cape catalog for free with the ability of users to upload their own capes and share them.
We have about 3 years of experience in the field and have worked for several projects such as Mantle, Cloaks+ or LunarClient and think that we'll be able to create something great!

There's a version of Optifine for Fabric?

yes but there are a couple of problems with optifine:

1. no animation possible
2. it's slow
3. everyone's moving to sodium

Awesome textures, I wish there as an in-game version of this like the mod https://modrinth.com/mod/craftablecapes does it, maybe not craftable in the Crafting Table, but still as items, would be cool to give them out as rewards in quests or from chest loot-bags.

I wonder if since almost everything is becoming data driven now, maybe soon you'll be able to make an item wearable as a cape, so it will be animated as such. Though on second thought that may not happen since capes aren't items but instead player cosmetic features

yeah, but we're not trying to create a server, we're trying to create a mod with a web portal

Yeah, I just thought it would be a very fun addition to Modpacks

If anything, the ability to make your own capes as custom items

Of course you would have to specify no one is allowed to charge money for access to a cape made with your tools

What kind of cosmetics would be involved? Capes are relatively simple since they already exist in the game, but arbitrary cosmetics would need more thought

in this direction, but probably even a little simpler, a friend of mine had these made and I still feel like the angels don't rlly fit in minecraft (of the angel wings)

the butterfly wings and jetpack are perfect

So animated capes and animated cosmetics, if you (or someone) is able to code that for us, would be amazing

Oh those aren't meant to be elytra replacement textures

those are just cosmetics the player can have

(and we can maybe add an option that if clicked removes the normal elytra texture so just the model is visible)

Yeah the wings would be much more minecraft-esque if they were 2 dimensional sort of like the vex wings

But then again, the ender dragon exists

thats actually a really good idea, ive been using cloaks+ for a long time but its annoying to go to discord and wait for its approval everytime you change your cape so an ingame gui would be great

also the max file size is annoying with cloaks+ i had to compensate (i think its called? english isnt my first language) on a website 4 times for it to be below the cap

yeah that’s why we‘re making this project. We just need someone with experience in minecraft development, cuz we can code the website ourselves and basically everything except for the mod
