#backport to 1.20.1 of the modern waystone mode
45 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
have you checked out fabric-waystones (renamed to wraith waystones) https://modrinth.com/mod/fwaystones/versions?g=1.20.1 ?
yes but i dont like the style of those waystones
have you received permission from the mod author for the port? (the mod is ARR and any modification will require explicit permission from the mod developer)
did not know that
also it doesnt say that on the modrinth page
they do
it literally says "ARR" in the license
when you want to copy things or make derivitive works, you have to check the license, legally
TLDR: this mod is licensed under an All rights reserved. aka, you dont have any copy rights
ARR is the tldr
not everyone is going to click on every little detail on the page
is what im saying
its literally just "scroll down"
scroll, see ARR, thats the tldr
if you want more details than that, you can read about it
not everyone knows what a fuckin arr is
so the tldr was too short, then you click the link for more L
when you have the label license next to it it sounds like its gunna be a whole bunch of legal mumbo jumbo
which next to nobody is going to read
nobody is going to cater to every person's idea of what TL is. ARR is a well known acronym for folks dealing with licensing.
and the link doesnt have a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo either lol
yes, PEOPLE THAT PORT MODS
lol
no point getting upset that you didnt look, its fine. you know now.
well you're acting like im a fuckin dumbass for not clicking a random link on a page
whatever the case, i would be happy to port those additional things over provided that you have explicit permission from the dev
Ngl backreading this, it’s a you problem here. It’s a modder’s job to know/deal with legality of touching/modifying someone’s work. Yes, ignorance does not excuse you, in case you are going to say “not everyone knows x, y, z”. That’s just how laws work.
The majority of users maybe, the majority of devs know what licenses are lol
ARR is also the default for everything
Pretty common sense that you can’t touch someone’s stuff unless they give you permission
thats the point, they arent a dev and were frustrated when a dev pointed out the issue. i think overall it was just a misinterpretation of tone due to internet lacking the verbal cues
