Decided to reimplement fireflies for my scrapped content mod! They are nowhere near done but for a still screenshot they look great.

(BSL shaders, ss doesnt really make it clear but they have LambDynamicLights support)

screenshot kinda makes it look like they are 1 pixel. trust me, they are 2 pixels, just like in mclive

considering making them have a 10-25% chance to poison frogs that eat them. what do yall think?

Never understood why they decided not to add them because they're so scared of people getting the wrong idea with frogs. Can't add fireflies but modern minecraft effectively encourages villager slavery to maximize profits

now we just have to send frogs, a species that needs a lot of moisture, to literal hell.

yeah the mangrove swamp was def designed with fireflies in mind

I'm not sure if you did this but is the black pixel really black black, cuz it seems like it isn't and that's why it's so difficult to see i think
