Greetings, my lords!

AGOT Nobility of Westeros is a small immersion submod for CK3 AGOT, that changes Westerosi noble titles and ranks so they match the lore more closely.

CHANGES:

  • Knightly Houses: barons and counts are addressed as "Ser" instead of "Lord".
  • Masterly Houses: barons and counts of the Old Gods are addressed as "Master," reflecting the cultural distinction of Northern non-knightly nobility.
  • The Iron Islands: barons and counts are now addressed as "Captain" rather than "Lord."
  • Dynamic Faith Checks: The "Ser" title is dynamically gated and only appears for characters with the Knight trait.
  • Dynamic Special Contract Checks: Lordship rights can be acquired with castellan and palatinate special contracts.
  • The Night’s Watch: The kingdom and empire-level titles previously called "The Wall" have been renamed to "The Night’s Watch" for better immersion.
  • Easier requirements for "Buy Knighthood" decision, so that landed knights become more common.

DECISIONS:

  • Custom Lordship: create and expand your own lordship inside the Seven Kingdoms.
  • Adopt personal COA as Title COA.

GAME-RULES:

  • Flavour Game Rules: Don´t like some of these changes? No worries, this submod allows for some customization with game-rules!

WORK IN PROGRESS:

  • Map rebalancing.
  • Vale Mountain Clans mechanics.
  • Bracken-Blackwood struggle.

All good here, AGOT NOW only changes barony, county and duchy titles. You might be using an outdated submod, maybe Red Keep withou the fix?

Hey bud the last update did a lot changes to titles and localization so this will need an update I believe.

Updated! Now working with the latest AGOT build

basically every baron, count, duke and king title tier now have the adress title loc "lord_non_paramount" in the main mod. Before only "kings" like the Hightowers or some "Emperors" like the lannisters had it.

I just hijacked the "lord_non_paramount" loc to run this submod custom_loc

hmm... is that what this issue is here? I didn't start a new save when the hotfix was applied so maybe it has to be a new game for it to be fixed truly, but just in case, I noticed the tooltip still says "lord" but the in game stuff says the proper title on the left here

@lime kiln no, some women (usually grandmothers of lords) were called Duchess instead of Lady because they got the default title.

But I became aware of this tooltip mismatch, I just didn't have time to fix it

WORK IN PROGRESS - THE NORTH

Reworked de jure map from baronies to kingdoms. Tried to match frontiers with terrain and natural borders (mountains, rivers,...)
Houses Bolton, Umber, Karstark, Glover and Dustin promoted to kingdom-tier.
Some Minor Houses - Stout, Forrester, Whitehill, Moss, Ironsmith, Woolfield, Marsh, Overton, Lightfoot, canon Northern clans and canon Skagosi clans - promoted to duchy-tier.
House Reed demoted to duchy-tier.
Houses Tallhart and Fisher demoted to county-tier.

The hegemony update did some interesting stuff since you can have a king tier within the iron throne and all. Which is cool cause then it means they can use a royal court.

I know theirs mods that add royal courts to duchy titles but I always never liked them because I just feel it wouldn’t work right with the AI and all

Updated! Expanded the code logic to king and emperor-tier titles. Some title tootilp mismatches and some spouse titles have been fixed.

Some princesses (see Daenarys Targaryen, daughter of Aegon IV), married to lords were downgrading to "Lady" (this happens in AGOT main mod). This is fixed and they now stay as Princesses!

Updated! The title localization method is now the same as the main mod. Dead characters titles fixed. Added King Consort title.

in 00_agot_title_triggers, is line 151 meant to reference "title:c_king_s_landing" or is that a typo? i kept crashing on the same dates but once i changed it over to " title:c_kings_landing", it seemed to have stopped 🤔

these are the riverlands with 6 new titles, created to adjust de jure borders at the kingdom-tier level

@sand oracle hey, thank you 🙂 I just finished reworking the Iron Islands and the Riverlands, I just need to update history files. I also promoted the Freys to king-level and relocate House Charlton to the new duchy of Ironwater (as you did). Next will be the Westerlands and the Reach!

short answer: as a general rule, a mod that changes titles and their history this much isn’t compatible with a savegame. it probably won’t crash, but it simply won’t load.

long answer: you need to open your save file with 7zip and extract the gamestate, then delete the gamestate from the zip. once extracted, open it with your preferred text editor. now go to the mod and find the keys in the files that modify the titles, copy them and paste them into your gamestate after all the existing title entries, which start with a number, for example:

if you look closely, you’ll see the numbers are sequential. you’ll need to create the corresponding entry without breaking this system for each title the mod adds. you’ll also need to find the ones the mod overwrites and replace them with their corresponding versions, and then match the title history of the title with the one that overwrites it, including rulers after the mod’s start dates, meaning the ones that have progressed in your playthrough.

once that’s done, save the gamestate and add it back into the same zip you took it from, and if you prayed hard enough during the whole process and the game doesn’t corrupt, you will have successfully added a mod to your savegame.

Hello guys! I’m excited to finally announce a beta version of AGOT NOW (version 1.2), with the most recent de jure map rework, by me and @sand oracle. This is an early version, so expect some bugs and balance issues, but it’s fully playable and ready for you to jump in. As always your feedback is incredibly important to us.

This update completely reworks the de jure hierarchy across the Nine Kingdoms of Westeros, based on canon and semi-canon ASOIAF sources, with the goal of making Westeros’ feudal structure more lore-accurate.
