But when you actually have dictators in charge, like with Saudi Arabia or North Korea, you get dumb nonsense. They want big projects to serve their ego and their friends, and since labor laws don't exist they put people in danger and inject as little money as possible into the economy to make them.

The story I have devised with Palworld goes liker this:
The Pal Tamer is actually a benevolent character, capturing pals who have something odd about them (personalities that don't fit them, ideals against the grain of their own species, physical traits that are problematic being out in the wild, etc). The name I have given her is Yukiko Kishimoto.
Her foster father is a false pal I call a "Gryphaeon", a species of extremely rare and equally powerful white griffins with a ring of power around their waist, granting them the ability to control time and space. Unfortunately for this one (whose name is Castle), he lost his during the time of the Calamity, an event he does not speak about much. He took her in after she washed up on the shores of the Plateau of beginnings. Since then, they founded a secret pal-based society hiding out on a remote island surrounded by towering cliffs. She is the only human in it.

When Yukiko goes out, she takes with her a handful of expedition pals and rides out on an alpha suzaku called Sirius (named after a star in the night sky), who also acts as the team's "eye in the sky" once they reach their destination. Castle remains back at the secret island fulfilling the role of tactical strategist, watching through the eyes of Sirius and listening to the radio chatter in the area (as well as a couple of other things I can't think of right now). The world government has labeled Yukiko as a poacher, but they don't know about her intentions or who else is working with her. For quite a while, they try catching her, but she always finds a way to escape, usually completing whatever objective she had for the mission.

When the story truly begins (I.E., the debut of the series), Yukiko is in one of the sanctuaries and has a run-in with an anubis. His name is "Iron Fist", and he is a cranky individual with a short temper. He also has weak knees that leaves him jumping up to the same height as the average human, can only run as fast, and can leave him winded if he is forced to run some distance, so his only real strength is his fists. The two have a short confrontation before a fight breaks out between them, and Iron Fist almost won, but Yukiko's companion, a little chillet called "Chilly" blasts him in the face with an ice breath attack while he had her by the neck, allowing her to knock him out with a bean bag bullet to the head, and thus capturing him. The commotion alerted the PIDF guards stationed on-site, so she had to jump aboard Sirius and make their escape.

After being brought back to the society and treated for his wounds (which is a funny involving a well-behaved lovander called "Valerie"), he was put into a few jobs around the island, but most don't go very well. The factory block only worsened his temper, and another brawling incident involving a trio of lamballs called "the Three Screwballs" did not help in the matter. He was put into construction, but his weak knees prevented him from helping much, and also did not help his temper. Mining was still no better, and it only got worse after a cave-in trapping some pals in a section of the mine. However, instead of just standing by, he ended up jumping to help removing the debris, and it prompted Yukiko to send Iron Fist over to the Expedition Corps, and little did he know, it turned out he would like it there the best.

The expedition group was stationed in a three-story building where they would help out with a few odd jobs around the society. The members are as follows:
Thunder Drum: A grizzbolt who is a big teddy bear with a jolly attitude. His weapon of choice is a minigun (surprise, surprise) charged with his own electric powers, and he likes to joke it it "always has a whole lotta love to serve the bad-guys."
Charcoal: An incineram who loves to cook for his teammates. He has a sarcastic personality and likes to watch the somewhat frequent brawls between his peers from the sidelines. He is best friends with Thunder Drum. His weapon of choice is a pair of long daggers he can superheat with his own fiery powers.
Renzushi: A bushi who was added to the group literally yesterday, and he quickly becomes rivals with Iron Fist (both equal in strength in their own ways, and they end up training in the hopes of 1-upping the other, which turns out to be surprisingly hard in practice). He has a pessimistic personality and does not really like the other members much, especially after Blaze sent him through one of the house's walls after upsetting her. His weapon of choice is, of course, a samurai sword, one that happens to be his late grandfather, and he can speak to him when he meditates.
Tank: A warsect with incredible strength and toughness, but mostly keeps to himself. He also has a bad sense of situational awareness, and it often leads to his comrades getting knocked down by any tree he is carrying back to the house. His weapon of choice is a handheld battering ram.
Iceberg: As one of the more unusual cases of oddity pals, he is a penking who has an almost uncontrollable urge to watch things burn. At the base, he ends up blowing himself up almost once every week. In fact, he does it when Iron Fist first arrives to his new home. His weapon of choice is a pair of flame sticks.

Blaze: A little rooby with some of the most frightening powers over fire, abilities a pal of her type really shouldn't have. She can't speak, but she understands what is being said. She also hates being touched, and it led to an instance with Renzushi getting kicked through a wall after grabbing her by the neck. She helps Charcoal with food preparation.
Cabbage: A verdash who has some powerful kicks and incredible speed, but has a humble personality. He was assigned to watch Iron Fist and Renzushi, and often lectures both when the two get in trouble with one another.
