Does the AI still not have rights, does the rights fall to the person who made the final bits or do the rights just vanish?

What happens then when the AI used the copyright type content? And follows the same process?

The law on it's own is incredibly fragile and isn't capable of handling these situations

Look up the artwork "A Slice of American Cheese" to learn more about AI and copyright with human involvement, the law is still in the very early stages.

Why would the AI using copyrighted material change the output when the training is inherently the most transformative possible use and has already been declared as a fair use action by the courts?

The law is only fragile as you put it because it's based on an ethically inconsistent framework that arbitrarily decides what ideas can or cannot be owned, superseding property rights in the process.

New abilities don't matter if you don't have a reason to use them or if they're comparable to the kit you get early in the game. See Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, which technically give you new skills after the tutorial, but their use cases are so specific or limited that they don't actually change how you play even when you're actively using them for how convenient they are.

Decent story doesn't matter if everything noteworthy has been sanded out of it in a desperate effort to polish it to a mirror sheen.

BotW wasn't forgotten in a week, but it and TotK share a similar place in my heart for me finishing most of them then getting bored before the final boss after their respective gimmicks wore out their welcome.

I can't justify the price of a game system to myself, especially when none of the games will work after so much time.

As long as I have a working system, my old games work. If I don't have that guarantee, then I don't want them.

And before someone mentions Steam, that scares me half to death bc if they go under, there is a good chance the games are kaput. But until then, my games through them will work for as long as I have a working computer

So, got the laptop.

I set my desktop back up bc we updated my partners computer and I put their old parts into mine
