Body type a and b were changes made that in general I dont like that comes from what feels like an invasion in the gaming sphere. These changes seem not nescessary. Imo i would be fine if male and female were kept and they added extra options for inbetween or neither for example.. so I never really understood why game development just removed alll of it instead replacing it with body types. Doing it the other way would of should of made all parties happy, instead of dectracting from one to appease only the other.

Best example is Warcraft. What it was then (a serious fantasy war game) vs what it is now (trying to become a colourful slice of life sim).

critter cove uses body type/pronouns, but it actually works. for example, in hyenas its the females who are considered the big strong ones, so it makes sense for the female characters to use the muscly builds. and robots dont really have a sex to assign pronouns too. plus there's the argument over whether lizards should have boobs. having body type and pronouns as options makes perfect sense there.

but then you get a game like dragon qust 3 remaster using body type when the characters are clearly male/female to the point where even several armours in the game make specific mention of females

You're not reading the discussion my dude. In a movie, you're not meant to assert your identity onto a character. That'd be quite difficult given that they have to be acted. Gaming is very different, as it introduces player agency. This lets you create a blank protagonist and still have them be characterized.

I'll say it, and I'll definitely be shit on for it, but if you design a game that has to rely on multiplayer/live service to be fun/sustainable, then you don't have a good game.

A good game doesn't need a battlepass/multiple people to be good. PLENTY of games have released and succeeded without relying on either of these aspects.
