Saying that Palworld is Pokémon with guns (see note 1) is far too oversimplified and not doing either of the two justice.

  • Pokémon is more of a creature capturing game with pretty much a fixed story path with very little, if any, base building mechanics.
  • Palworld is more of an action-survival game with base building along with creature capturing added to the mix.

In other words (TL;DR): Palworld is far more closer to the video games ARK: Survival Evolved or Rust than it is to Pokémon.

I've always wanted to make games, but I'm mostly just good at writing, and learning programming, at least one art form, and sound design before I can start fumbling around blindly is a bit daunting.

Aside from their surprise hit HD2 which sold primarily on PC, the single player games have mostly sold a fraction on PC and the game community used the simple fact that they’re willing to release multi-platform games against them.
