do we know if this is in-game censorship yet or just storefront
But is it true? I’d like to know.
because it might be a tsukihime situation where only the store assets were censored
They removed the option to turn off the censor in game. PS5 and PC have that switch.
Seems a bunch of people preordered without knowing this version was gonna be censored. Oof.
but yeah, the two issues i have with that post;
-customer support are not a concrete source; you're just going to get the stock responses. they won't be privy to the information.
-the more i look at it, the more it honestly feels like a digital assistant (Nintendo have used these before; Nikki was the digital assistant on the EU site at least).
"does the assistant understand the point?"
understood
"identify the category"
consumer feedback; run consumer feedback response
"identify the issue"
game content. run game content response, [insert publisher]
Previously I assumed it was because of Nintendo but now I’m not sure. Adhoc I guess didn’t make it clear it wasn’t going to be the same on Switch.
in EU at least, you can refund. this is something that should definitely be disclosed though, yeah.
Whether it was hand written or a bot, the situation is still the same. we don’t know of Nintendo demanded the changes or not.
yeah, a random customer support enquiry is not a reliable source
Articles from earlier confirmed the US version was censored, dunno of it’s global.
hm. doing some digging and someone brought up CERO; at first, it's uncensored on ps, so didn't make sense but i keep forgetting ps is American now
Nintendo is primarily Japanese; it might be a CERO v ESRB issue
but then, tsukihime kinda subverts that
The ESRB rating didn’t change.
that's not the issue;
ps and steam are American, so their stores have to comply with ESRB.
Nintendo is Japanese so it's Storefront has to comply with CERO
Steam doesn’t even use ESRB half the time.
yes but it's American
it's about enforcement
And Cyberpunk has full frontal and is on Switch
never mind all the hentai slop in the eshop
lol, i feel shovelware usually slips through cause no-one cares
yeah, cyberpunk kinda counters that and makes things confusing again.
at that point makes be wonder if it's simply a "big enough to say nah" situation lol
small games and shovelware no-one cares about, and big games can do what they want; so there's a middle ground where they can be asked, but arent big enough to stand up to it
Watch this ends up turning into another one of those activists censorship situations
lol. i can't rule it out sadly, but you'd think they'd push for it on all platforms
https://gonintendo.com/contents/57043-nintendo-s-censorship-of-dispatch-is-cause-for-serious-concern
Dang, rawmeatcowboy is big mad.
He’s really into superhero stories so yeah.
adhoc "cannot comment at this time" and the European eshop wasnt censored? I wonder if the eu game is uncensored too
The EU key art was unchanged, don’t know about the actual game.
The fact that they can only even acknowledge the situation in places most players are never going to see it is very strange.
Funny how they allowed MK1 to pass.
MK1 has nudity?

@novel sun @daring mauve @plush marsh @unborn mauve @sacred mango
The gore.
mk1 looks so bad on switch that probably couldn't tell
well i can confirm they did optimise the game, without the generative frame, i did a hunt in the forest area, i stay at 60-55 fps
couldn't even reach 60 without the fps option

Rockula, the garlic crusher

Everyone knows of Nessie, very few know of Rockula
Amazing
I think artists should really look into that brand. They make artist's ideas a reality and take a fee, but you own it.
(According to when I last read their page)
And the fee comes out of the sales of the itme
I didn’t think crushing garlic would make things better for the vampire
I think of it as a stress relief for Rockula.
Crushing the enemy :p
At the expense of breaking out in hives or whatever happens to vampires in such encounters
Rockula
But you aren't supposed to smash garlic... You're supposed to mince it
You rock it over and it is supposed to mince
@AndrewBlackrose @DemoRed22 @DarklingGaymer I want to clear things up here. Both the NA & EU versions of Dispatch on Switch 1 & 2 are censored the same. We confirmed the American censorship and our friends at @nintendolife confirmed the European censorship. You can see the pertinent info from their review in the image.

Ooof. None of my software wants to play nice today... Guess I get the day off...?
France's Video Game Worker's Union has unanimously called for a Ubisoft employee strike, pointing to "management's obsession with penny-pinching and worsening our working conditions." https://t.co/LOVB3601eP
17,000 employees is way too many no matter how you slice it. Even if you had 300 person teams, 10 teams would be 3,000.
I honestly can't even comprehend how there is 17,000 employees. 20 teams for 6,000, and okay, add in Janitors, people working on game engines, localizations, etc. How do you possibly exceed 8,000? Especially when Voice Actors would mostly be Per Gig contractors.
I guess they got 9,000 Pams, who get copy paper, coffee, and donuts.
Nintendo of Japan, only has 3,000 employees.
They used to have more than that.
most of the good games i played were developed by less than 20 people XD
how the heck do you have 17000 people...
i wonder if 15k of them are middle management managing eachother and got employed as favors.
Well even by N64 days, there was apparently 40 to 50 people who worked on OOT.
But sure, got games like Stardew Valley and Atlyss made by 1 person.
Ubisoft is (was?) a huge publisher with a bunch of studios all over the world, but the headcount is still crazy.
i am quite certain a lot of them are doing application programming for industrial machinery and such too
Each year, in the past decade, there are only 15 to 30 noteworthy games. There's a limit to how many games it makes sense to put out each year. It ain't the 90's and 00's anymore, where there was boat loads of games coming out like torrential rain.
it's also called count gracula
That one is the roller I believe
I read Guacula first. xD
Now I want a breakfast burrito... Thanks God!
that still happens, but not from the same publishers
indies are shitting out thousands of games yearly and very few are noticed because of how quickly they are buried by other releases

No. I haven't been a fan of anime since it went mainstream.
one piece is older than anime becoming main stream lol
Lol I mean old school anime: Gundam, Bebop, X from the earliest 2000s
All down hill from there
that is very I don't even know how to call that kind of view.

there's so many great anime coming out each season, not finding anything that you enjoy is very hard.

It's fun, adorable and brought me to tears several times over. The season 2 has started now and the new OP is also super good at making me tear up.
https://x.com/shitpostrock/status/2016748138326077559?s=46 Between that and the non-binary nonsense, Nintendo’s starting this year out rough. I just want to play Pokemon Champions…
I did see that, but this is blaming NoA for decisions coming out of Japan (at least as it pertains to Nintendo’s own games).
Tired of seeing headlines of how many players Highguard has lost. Like, sure, you can argue that's putting facts out there, but I cant escape the feeling there's just this "celebration" of a game doing badly and just putting out negative headlines for the sake of it. Shouldnt us game devs even try?
People are hateful little shits
Yeah sure, make a game like that, you have to search on social media what players want

Why does someone have to pay attention to something?
I’ll squint at it later, but I’m not taking it from a single rando.
You don't have to, it's the same situation with Nintendo and the hands holding the Mario plush
Yeah, she has some long thumbs but it was real.
If I did a rare trick, some of the world would think it was AI
It does look weird, but "floating" is an exaggeration. It was more like "picking up a slice by pinching two or three fingers at a distance." The slice wiggling after it's picked up looks weirder to me

One-third of U.S. video game industry workers were laid off in 2025, GDC study reveals.
︀︀
︀︀Per the report, “Those at AAA studios were highly likely to have experienced layoffs at their companies; two-thirds of respondents at AAA studios said their companies had layoffs. One-third of people working at indie studios reported the same.”

"just don't click the option, idiot"
though admittedly (unironically?) i find the Japanese version more "inclusive" as it kinda covers everything else
It'll do fine. Fans actually wanted more inclusivity.
If someone doesn't like it, they don't have to play the game or they can avoid having same-sex relationships or a non-binary character.
it's definitely getting an 18 in some countries though; miitopia got an 18+ in Russia because two miis could go "on an outing" and that game didn't even have genders lol
Speaking of ratings I should see if Dispatch is on Japanese PSN…
i found a random Reddit post claiming it's the same as the switch version; is cyberpunk censored in Japan?
D is their M
They have Cero Z
I'm PEGI here so not 100% on the conversation rates (3,7,12,16,18)
The Japanese version on PlayStation only came out yesterday
So it might have the same restrictions as the Switch.
Cyberpunk on Switch 2 is Cero Z
so you think they made a censored ps5 version for Japan, then made that censored version the international version for switch?
i wonder if the art style has something to do with it? 'realistic' nudity versus 'cartoon' nudity
Or the japanese playstation release was just a result of the switch release
I was confused because I originally thought it was available earlier than that (since I played it), but apparently not in Japan
So that’s a very good question about Cyberpunk if it’s any different (even with a Z rating)
pc>ps5>censored ps5>censored switch would make sense
like I said it was yesterday’s date
Is Dispatch available on Steam in Japan? I don’t think cero is on that.
What still bothers me is why is Adhoc so cagy about this?
"so i just finished making the switch port, and made sure to use the latest version"
"... you mean the heavily censored one?"
"... was that bad?"
Like when they were taking preorders it shouldn’t come at a surprise that there’s differences when it launches to anyone that hasn’t read every obscure interview

I have a question if gog exist then steam is not monopolizing right?
Theres a clear competitor
Steam has not been declared a monopoly.
But the case didn’t get thrown out despite that
So I guess their status is on the line
Idk about the UK.
It likely is to determine that.
The allegations don’t seem that strong to me.
But if publishers say it’s trivial to be able to connect dlc from one store to a game bought from another store, that might help their suit.
I think game companies believe Steam is too buyer focused and don’t like it
Because they’re all greedy jerks
It’s not what they’re alleging
What exactly are the allegations?
From the UK? Pretty sure they’re claiming steam has a monopoly, but I don’t think they’re realise the reason steam has a monopoly is because it’s the only tolerable game store
ok but like if steam isn't a monopoly then standard oil wasn't a monopoly
🤨
That's a bit of a stretch. The former is "most people choose this over other options that are present because they like what it offers" and the latter was, at its height, "we financially starved the competition into nonexistence through short term losses and paying politicians"
They’re arguing that Steam is ripping off UK gamers, with how they price things there while (also allegedly) restricting publishers in alleviating that with other options by agreement.
Like a new game will be $60 on Steam and $60 on Epic. The choice of Epic is there
Or so was reported
And that's just one example
I haven’t seem the actual language
ok well the way I see it
If steam decided that everything on the store would be marked up 10%
For most games and gamers there is simply nowhere else to go for what they want
Epic has like zero features so no users really want to go there, GoG has strict policies against DRM so many publishers will avoid it, and after that the options only get worse
Steam has immense control and power over the PC gaming space because the alternatives are so inferior that the only reason anyone would use them is if steam did something beyond even cartoon villain levels of malicious
That's a huge assumption. So many people would jump ship if Steam alone decided that all games costed almost $10 more. It also highlights the disconnect with the oil comparison because buyers couldn't easily download a different launcher, they're stuck paying the gas pumps available to them
And for publishers it's even worse
If you want players, you want to be on steam
Using any other platform (for PC anyway) is an instant shot to the foot of whatever game you're making
The graveyard of Ubsioft, EA, and other AA publishers trying to make their own competitor is testament to how ineffective competition is
Yeah because it almost always sucks
This is also due to the fact that most of the companies make mediocre games and substandard software, but even if they have a good launcher people will still overwhelmingly prefer steam
What Steam competitor didn’t destroy itself with bad market performance due to micro transactions and the like
and making a good launcher is outrageously expensive, hence why EA and Ubisoft keep making crap ones
Because it's too expensive to make a good one
But that just proves the point
even with EA or Ubisoft levels of marketing, you need beyond an "ok" game to get people to move platforms
In traditional economic theory, steam is not a monopoly because if you simply present a good deal, people will go there and buy it
But this economic theory is ignorant of human nature and especially the nature of video games as a commodity
Why would you go to another platform for bad exclusives
Steam is a monopoly because people will magnetize towards each other on the social subplatform of steam community/workshop/etc features, and will be stubborn about moving for ANY reason
The only reason Nintendo is still as big as it is is because so many big name titles like Mario, Zelda and Pokemon are specifically exclusive to their consoles.
Steam has to actively push people away for them to even really consider "shopping" for alternatives
Meanwhile most other companies have moved to PC gaming, which makes Steam the go to option that people trust
Granted this isn't like standard oil where they can do horrible things and then send a hitman to prevent any competition but they literally have 0 competition
and short of sabotaging steam from within there is no way to change that
And even if they don't have oil magnate levels of power they do have a lot of power, and their wise decision to not abuse that power does not mean it isn't there
Lol, bullied out of existence
So the only reason we don't call steam a monopoly is because we as consumers (and frankly, as regulators) enjoy this current arrangement and if we declare steam a monopoly then that would mandate change which could ruin what we have
-# personally even I would prefer things stay as they are, even if it is technically a monopoly
my read on this lawsuit is that someone in the UK believes that them being benevolent isn't an excuse, and that whatever change an anti-monopoly suit would bring is a change for the better
ooooooooor they are claiming that position because they hope to personally benefit from the fiasco they are starting
It only benefits losing platforms like the one amazon was pushing
and actually do not give a single crap about any gamers anywhere
I wouldn't be surprised if they or some other failed corp was behind it
Which is most likely as simply smashing steam into a hundred tiny pieces will result in actual, malicious monopolies filling in the gaps
most of the people trying to compete with steam have in fact been actively malicious companies that had no interest in the fair competition we expect, rather they wanted to make their own monopoly to extort players
GoG likely remains competitive simply because that isn't their objective
And Epic is still relevant probably exclusively because of fortnite, free games, and being well known (because of fortnite)
Although calling it "competitive" is a misleading term because very few people actually use either of those in replacement of steam
Steam isnt a monopoly
I love that they never filed some lawsuit on Epic when it bought out some exclusive release deals for many games, which it basically held hostage to it's own platform
it took several years for kingdom hearts to release onto steam.
and some assholes are trying to defend that practice by saying that "by the time it hits steam it will be bug-free" yeah that didn't happen.
According to economic theories of like, 1950, yeah, it isn't
But this is not 1950
This is 2026, and we know how social anythings work
Similar to Anno 1800 it was available on steam for a few days on initial launch, but then they made a deal with epic games which held that game hostage on it for several years too.
Steam has reached a critical mass that they are basically a magnet, anyone entering the space is instantly pulled to them
I look on GOG first for my games. If not on GOG, then I buy on Steam
and getting a large mass off of them is extremely difficult
people can release their games on itch io the japanese market is unaffected by steam (they generally complain about the insane prices of games on there), but they have like dmm fanza and other sites which I think are adult sites but those are the only ones I remember of the top of my head.
Everyone saying it is a monopoly is just the corporations that hate Steam for being objectively better
yeah you can pull iron filings off a magnet, one by one, but getting the whole cloud of iron filings off is basically impossible unless you either get a bigger magnet, or demagnetize the first one
also nothing on steam I think says you can't sell your game on other platforms too does it?
just because it isn't 100% steam 0% anyone else doesn't make it not a monopoly because like
There were other oil companies in the US in standard's prime
just you can't resell STEAM KEYS cheaper
These corpos would rather strangle Steam than ever give customers things like actual ownership
There were railroads not under direct control of the railroad magnates, and the railroad magnates were technically competitors
It's something they call a "natural monopoly" and social platforms are the pinnacle of the concept
These companies only want to squeeze more money out of customers, and they hate Steam for getting in the way
once you reach a certain mass of users and in this case publishers, you become a black hole that just pulls everything into it
Gamers go where the games are, publishers go where the gamers are
Steam is at a point where both of those principals lead you directly to them
The only reason I still use Steam anymore is because Palworld and Craftopia arent on GOG
Let me reiterate
Just because there is an alternative to YOU does not mean there is no monopoly
GOG is the only decent competitor to Steam because they dont allow DRMs
For the purposes of whether a company is a monopoly that should be scrutinized as such, "almost all" is the same as "all"
You own games on GOG, which is the one thing gamers dont have on Steam
The idea that 100% control is necessary to be a monopoly is why monopolies like google, microsoft, and apple are almost never regulated and get to do whatever they want
Apple can just say "screw you, our phones won't work with other chargers" and the population has to accept this
more people are switching back to windows 10 and windows 7 a recent data polling showed lowering the people on windows 11 back do less than 50%
Steam could hypothetically say "screw you, you need a subscription to play most online titles" and most people would have to accept it
Fuck that, I only use Linux
yeah a lot of people would jump because their games conveniently exist on other accessible platforms, but a lot of people play games that simply do not exist in a way they can play, except through steam
wasn't there a lawsuit because of that whole charging port deal?
A $600 console to dodge a monthly subscription ain't worth it
you have to pay to access your internet connection with modern consoles
Yeah, the EU slapped them for it, actually forced them to switch to standardized plugs
I dont buy anything I dont own
They still made the phones soft reject non-apple chargers, and the EU is backing down on the standardization requirement
Im not paying shit for subscription and licenses
The EU is the only place these companies face any legal repercussions for their behavior because only the EU has broad general regulation, the US only has a hammer for total monopolies
We call that our nuclear option
But total monopolies don't exist anymore, the corporations are smart enough to avoid that
Because we say where Im from, the best thing government can do with a free market, is to keep their filthy hands off of it
and going by the "they send thugs to beat up competitors" definition is delusional
Steam is an extremely powerful monopoly and the second that power ends up in the hands of someone more malicious than gabe, we're ALL going to be sorry
This is how standard oil got their monopoly and used it to extort the average american and especially the average oil worker out of any notion of a fair deal
That mentality is how you have to actively seek out an option to own your games, rather than that being the standard
Scariest words in the English language are “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”
Why
blue?
-# The corporations taught you this so you'd oppose regulation against their interests
I dyed it.
Although tbh if someone those exact words I would be a little uneasy because that's not a normal way to introduce yourself
No, that was spoken by Ronald Reagan
Ronald Reagan, the guy who gave the elite a major tax break
a tax break which primarily benefitted, the corporations
I listen to him before any leftist
you know for someone who considers himself above "the propaganda" you sure do seem to believe an awful lot of propaganda
🏛️
I'm definitely late here cause y know, it's 3am and i can't sleep
in the UK legal definition at least, a monopoly has little to do with dominance, and more with control. you can be a monopoly with as little as 25%. the deciding factor is market authority
the reason steam is being accused of a monopoly is under the CMA; the allegations are they control the market through practices such as price manipulation (requiring Devs to secure the lowest price is always an option on steam for example)
yeah steam should just cut of the UK from accessing steam at that point
why deal with a country that arbitrarily makes you a monopoly based on it's own standards
again, isn't that ONLY for steam keys?
i mean they already have restrictions in the UK =p
like say, they sell the game for 20 bucks on steam but 15 bucks on nintendo switch is that against the rules?
the allegations are that steam require Devs to always give steam the best offer available which is market manipulation under the CMA if true
and no to the other point; the market is PC gaming, not gaming as a whole
i mean, you can argue the standards of non UK are just too lenient to the point of allowing monopolies to occur
most of the UK's laws on trade and monopolies are mirrored in the EU which is why iirc this case began there (TFEU 101/102)
in a post Brexit Britain, we now use CMA (DMCCA, not to be confused with DMCA)
the law is very new (2024) so obviously people are still trying to figure out it's best use and intentions
Steam has to my knowledge never bought exclusive rights to not allowed games to be sold for years on other platforms than Epig Games store
which to me is more monopolistic than steam just wanting price equality
it's a new act, and like with a new toy, everyone wants to try it out and courts need to test drive it. it's likely just people trying their luck while it's still new and confusing.
damn I'm reading through bill right now and you can tell it's new lmao; so much vague wording
okay yeah, I'm having to re-read section 6 like five times because it basically boils down to "it's a monopoly because we say so" lmao.
they use the term SMS (strategic market status) which can be something as simple as creating a market standard or facilitating the function of other businesses
this act is going to have some interesting cases
Very ironic of the country that created unchecked monopolies in their energy sector to start making a gustav railway cannon for blowing up monopolies
-# maybe they decided after the privatized electric grid incident that they should blow them up on sight instead of invite them into the most critical service for an advanced society
Electricity as a market is absurd to me tbh
???
UK uses a national grid though?
I read that some time ago they tried to privatize the electrical grid
made me start looking into the US grid, which is actually sort of private, but regulated or something
Truly bizarre
it's like, several companies own it now but are regulated by an overseer commission (ofgem) so they have to act in a way that remains competitive to each other (cannot conspire or cartel) with the goal being that forced competition assumedly benefits the consumer
US or the UK?
obviously nothing ever works out as written, but for the most part it works fine
UK
it used to be "the big six" until two merged, now we have "the big five"
all are overseen by a conduct authority (ofgem)
the EU shares power around across borders if one grid is lacking.
Well yeah most power grids are interconnected over a huge area
it provides a lot of stability
The energy that powers your lights is rarely from the nearest power plant, electricity just kinda goes where it pleases
unless you live in the US, where the powergrid cuts out during most major weather events.
and some even mediocre
It provides stability for the power generation and the grid as a whole
If a tree snaps a power line, then no reasonable amount of interconnection will save you
I guess if you had another, redundant line, but it would be unreasonable to run that many cables
well most power lines are not above the earth in europe
the lowest percentage are above ground
that also helps with stability a lot
The US grid is extremely old, most of it was built a long time ago
It's besides the point, the US has the same stability from its 3 WACs as Europe
the national grid UK is like, 1930s lol
I mean the us was settled before electricity was a thing, so both grids should be similarly old
Except texas, who found out why we have wide area interconnections
the cold and painful way
I personally have never experienced a power outage in my life.
That winter saw solar and wind turbines of course inoperable, nuclear power plants frozen solid, several coal plants in a similar state, and gas plants seeing exponential rise in the cost of their fuel
In theory, if they were connected to the rest of the country, then generation plants in other parts of the US could've supplemented that
Though there was a nonzero chance that no string of transmission lines would be able to handle the load
I've had power outages before but they usually last like 10 minutes tops; essentially they switch you to the underground backup powers of you ever get a fault
but with very little exception no other part of the US has ever experienced such a sweeping power outage
Not counting storms that level or submerge entire cities
it's like how you can call emergency services with no signal as long as some network has a signal they let you through
no
Europe does not get hit with hurricanes, so europe does not have to deal with the immense destruction they bring
the telephone lines have their own power
earthquakes are also rare, like select mini regions that have misfortune to be on tectonic edges
i know; i was making a comparison between emergency power lines and emergency phone lines
but yeah since europe has better governments and populations more willing to pay for nice things from those governments, they can afford to have all their power lines built with technology and methods that make them very reliable
i think the strongest earthquake weve had was like a 5.2
whereas here in the land of the free we have to make do with two sticks, two sticks and a copper wire, for the whole state!
And we have to share the copper wire
I love halo references
I would share some wires with you
Actually not long ago I was doing a volunteer highway trash collection thing and saw the evidence of someone had actually tried to saw a power line off to sell for scrap
do you not have a diesel/pyrolitic generator
I assume the power company had cut and replaced the line due to damage, but left the dead cable attached to the pole?
Or maybe they were doing it during a power outage?
Might've been a telephone line
but yeah there was a saw
Cut cable, a bag with a power tool battery
wild
At least that isn't a common occurrence here
There are parts of the world where power plants literally cannot run 24/7, and people steal entire power lines in the dead of night during periodic blackouts
The longest power outage I've had was I think a few days, following a huge storm
And very few have even come close
i have an energy provider, and as per an agreement with the national grid, you get power direct if the provider's power has a fault. add such you can only really get "true" power outages if the backup also fails. it's why blackouts are very rare, and if they do occur they don't last long
Yeah that's what im asking, 90% of apartments have a government issued generator built into the building encase of power issues
"government issued generator" sounds so funny
It's not just required or covered under some policy, the government specifically purchases and sends you one
Its provided free of charge once the building enters the housing registry
its also serviced out of people's taxes
it's not
possibly; i don't know the specifics I'm afraid. i do know we have an "emergency power" system so it might be that
crime organisations are allowed to run free.
I wouldn't wanna live in Germany, France or Norway/Sweden
Yeah that's what the IRS wants me to think so I keep paying THEM taxes instead of someone who actually gives me services in return
implying this isn't true everywhere
if tax money wasn't wasted, there wouldn't be shows on free-tv that are covering the topic of tax waste buildings and other structures.
the best country in europe in terms of infrastructure are the netherlands
Actually I think I know who wants this to be believed AND why they want to be taken as fact
wrong, that would be the Danes
But I'm not interested in getting muted
I've not heard anything from denmark in a long time.
from what i see their taxes are best utilized

Nintendo was honoring refunds cause of that, so probably good they updated the store page.
Nintendo e-shop still gonna keep posting those H games tho
this seems like nonsense… was Dispatch showing actual skin or somethin?
Adhoc removed the censor toggles from the Switch versions, they literally told gonintendo they can’t say why.
Nintendo customer service told at least one person it was the developer’s decision, but the truth could very easily be above their pay grade.

A man walking home from a bar in Montana just became $200,000 richer thanks to a moose with anger issues
︀︀
︀︀Security footage showed a massive moose charging straight into an ATM, completely destroying it and sending cash flying everywhere.
︀︀
︀︀A guy in a hoodie rushes over, scoops up the money, and disappears into the night.
︀︀
︀︀Police have no leads. The moose was found safe and uninjured. Experts believe it saw its own reflection and attacked.
︀︀
︀︀Officials are now joking the moose owes Montana $200K. Locals are calling it "the most Montana heist ever.
︀︀
︀︀"A moose just destroyed an ATM and gave a lucky man $200,000.
I mean
If he doesn't the police won't have to try very hard to find who "stole" the money
Wash it clean by buying drugs with the cash
Nah, keep paying your bills and working, buy non essentials and groceries with cash
don't go to same places a lot
Need a new tool?, pot?, cutlery?, buy with cash
Need your wylk fix? Buy with cash.
"you thought you could escape the isekai genre?"
Truck-kun on steroid
Quid canis facit?
💪🛻
Every bill is scanned and has a serial number, itl take less than a week to track down
Whole point is dealing with it as swiftly as you can
Not how it works. They need to know what the numbers are before it's stolen
So tracking people with cash like that only works when you specifically plant something there or know they're planning to steal some there
Every time a atm is filled with cash a bag is scanned that contains numbers of the bank notes
So any cash missing from the atm will just eventually run trough a system and its source tracked, its not a short process but here such things are found out within a week tops
If that is the case then yeah they could track that. Although I'm not personally privy of the specifics of how an ATM functions
They usually keep track of what bills and bill numbers that were placed in an ATM at the time of... filling, replenishment... When they put the cash in to keep it active >.>
I believe the practice is done bc of how many ATMs used to be broken into.
Yeah but in practice it also doesnt really work when stolen cause itl get pawned off in less of a week just to rid of it trough store sales n shit
Since stores wont ask for your ID, and neither will most other quick to spend money establishments
You most definitely dont want to pay bills with it or deposit it into your bank acc tho
Long gone are the days where you could just enter the casino and wash the cash
Half it into slots, and ask payouts into your bank account, pay a lil tax, problem solved
Most try to deposit it or make a big ourchase that requires their ID and are quickly caught.
Who knows, maybe the person will return it
In this economy?
Won't lie, if it happened near me, I would have scooped it all up and called authorities and waited xD
Well, that means the guy is gree to enjoy is non existent money!
was funnier in my head, sending anyways
Never do this
or at least don't stick around
If they can't account for every penny they will have you arrested for stealing
Good point 🤔
heard many stories of people returning lost cash to owners, to be accused of theft by people saying it's not all there
Its very common
You may end up an asshole, but you lose nothing claiming not everything was there
and stand to gain
The sad truth
The government trusts you with money as much as you can trust them with tax dollars
Returned a wallet once.
Belonged to some kid.
Met the kid's mom and grandma so I could return it.
They gave me a cash reward, opened the wallet, gave me all of the kid's cash.
My dad told me I was cruel taking the kid's cash and not throwing the hidden wallet condom away so the adults didn't find it xD
Returning wallets to other people is fine.

The statement:
Nintendo requires all games on its platforms to receive ratings from independent organizations and to meet our established content and platform guidelines. While we inform partners when their titles don’t meet our guidelines, Nintendo does not make changes to partner content. We also do not discuss specific content or the criteria used in making these determinations.
i wonder if this was a case of "either take the CERO Z or censor it"
depending on how their feedback was worded, it could have sounded like the censorship was a requirement.
the fact the JP ps5 version was censored too,i don't think it's solely Nintendo, and that statement calls out "ratings"
And who are these “independent organizations”?
Wtf is a CERO Z?
i think the CERO argument might be on point, and they had to choose between CERO Z and censorship
CERO, ESRB, PEGI, etc
CERO is Japan, with Z being essentially "adult only"
Cero Z still would require changes like with Cyberpunk
cyberpunk took the Z rating. dispatch didn't
But removing the censor option basically knocks it down to CERO D straight away, so it was something Adhoc already had.
Yes, but even with that, they can’t have unobstructed full frontal.
So there’s changes for just Japan
sounds like Nintendo said "it needs to be suitable for all markets on switch" or that's how adhoc understood it
cause ps censorship is regional
As is Switch Cyberpunk.
The fact that Adhoc wasn’t straight about it before (and even after) the Switch version was released makes it look like this one is pretty much on them.
obviously i can only hypothesise, but it sounds like Nintendo said it wasn't suitable for their platform as it would need to be censored under CERO, but adhoc interpreted that as "needs to be censored for all boards"
Could be, but hard to say.
whereas, like cyberpunk, it really only needed regional censorship but there were crossed wires
my brain catching me before i abbreviated cyberpunk
Cdpr has a lot of resources and probably have several direct contact at Nintendo to work with and could afford to make a bespoke version for very specific needs
As opposed to yanking the toggle on an existing function.
But it’s still very strange that Adhoc wouldn’t say they did that.
anyone here familiar with metallurgy?
Making alloys?
i knew a blacksmith a few years back but that's about it
I am puzzled by a phenomenon
Kitchen fork tines, four different forks have one bent tine, same tine on each
the force required to bend the tine of an eating fork at that angle is way beyond if used to eat, or washing them
i'd break my teeth before they bend, I can't see how it's happening
do you use a dishwasher
my first thought would be a hot environment softening the metal
rinsing in hot water a few hundred times after washing up
Maybe it has something to do with how it was manufactured.
they must be returning to non forged shape in some way
lord knows how metal can remember it's shape and revert
They end up with the same flaw in the same tine where one side of it contracts more than the other, causing the curve.
Only a guess
I wouldn't call it defective, seems like a natural state of the metal
Yes, the forks are returning to their fetal position (doubt).
If it’s a repeatable issue it’s certainly related to some procedure.
The forks are yearning to return to their infantile ore state
Sometimes when I forget to drink my tea, it settles back into a tea bag.
The phenomenon of Fork Genesis
If you bought them from Costco you can probably return them.
garbage forks are normal nowadays, i had some bend cutting hard butter
you have to buy sets in those boxes to get proper tableware nowadays
I am interested in how it happens
iron forks plated with aluminum
rather than silver plated steel
you lose hardness, and only retain the bend
so heat from washing up contorting the tines?
it can happen yes
Weird how it's the same tine on each
Industry is cutting costs everywhere
Silver is better used in tech over random every day tools
yuck
why when polished aluminum looks the same over iron
bends worse than iron tho
get me gold platinum alloy
iron doesn't bend, it just oxidizes and flakes to bits
iron bends, it loses some of that when turned into steel trough carbon
well I think I am closer to an answer, it's definetly heat over time softening and controrting it back to original shape
odd that only the same tine but that will have a reason
idk i have the same tableware used 300 years ago by some grandma found in the attic
it doesn't bend or rust
Issue with the die press lost lijely.
It probably cut that tine incorrectly but it is not visible to the naked eye. Instead, when the fork gets too hot, it bends bc it is weaker there.
Basically this
in return, here's a metal fact
Back in more primitive times, warriors would toss the bones of their defeated enemies into the mix when forging swords, believing that it would make their weapons stronger
The carbon in the bones made crude steel that was actually stronger than regular iron
Their superstition was unfounded but helpful
That’s metal in every sense of the word.
Praise be The-Allfather
That was Vikings
And they used blood too
The iron in their blood was probably better quality than the iron they dug up from bogs lmao
shark
:)
Well, teeth are not bone, but many still call them bone.
You could make a shark teeth sword and call it a bone sword, then skewer anyone that corrects you

AI trash yet again
Yeah Google really trying to ruin the gaming creativity lol
Yeah it looks flashy on the carefully curated video to watch but if you tried to play a game like this you would probably get some kind of motion sickness and vomit
Watching a surreal mushy dreamscape is one thing, trying to interact with it in a serious fashion is another
This video doesn't even show any indication of the limits, he intentionally avoids trees which suggests that the system will not handle it well and that he had to carefully record a video that not only works decently but also involves none of the horrific bugs that likely lurk outside the video
And sure, most presentations are like that
The early Palworld gameplay trailers were also probably unplayable outside of what they showed video of but the difference is that with human programming you can actually fix these bugs whether they're big or small
AI cannot, it is working to its absolute limits to produce a guy driving a car in a flat plane while a Minecraft world literally warps itself to allow him to do so
The reason investors think this will disrupt gaming is because they don't play enough video games to realize this is nothing this is a bluff
Missed opportunity.

Reanimal is the only one I’ve heard of that I’m interested in
Towerborne is the only one I haven’t seen a clip of. Gotta watch more game showcases
I'd shoot my neighbor back for that
People are crazy
If the dog was attacking, yeah i'd shoot it, otherwise just leave it alone, most dogs are chill
People who shouldn't be allowed to have any weapons, probably
I'd know the circumstances before judging
I mean it’s not the first time I’ve heard of things like that happening
Rednecks and all that.
But no details were given so w/e
Anyway
Assholes do.
We had a Rottweiler, sweetest thing. Someon came onto our property and shor her -.-"
Pretty sure that’s a crime.
wtf is his problem?
Hearing the shot and seeing just a figure running doesn't aid in finding them
wtf…
She was shot just for being a Rottweiler
Shoot back fr
Pretty sure my dad ran out there with the gun with that intent
based
They discharged a weapon on your property, they’re clearly a threat
For sure
I wasn't here for the event above, but my mentality is this, "you attempt to get in my house I will unload the entire clip into you. On my property with a weapon, clip into you."
Safety of my home and those inside come first. And by weapon, I don't mean I'm going to shoot someone walking by holding a stick xD if they start looking around suspiciously, that is another story
Someone shot a dog that got out of a garden or something
Lol, I like those signs xD
That didn't show as a gif for me until now xD
that someone deserves literally the worst prison cell on this planet
Like, we need to survey the gulags from the soviet union and find the most miserable cell in the most miserable gulag and put that someone there
So that's what Clive Barker looks like IRL

Who starts counting weeks on SUNDAY?
Calendars
Police said the woman - who stalked and sent 159,000 text messages, including some threatening ones, to a Paradise Valley, Arizona man - spoke to the media about her actions.
#arizona #jail #rawvideo #oddnews #crime #news
I think almost everyone except the US
what are you talking about
US calendars start the week on Sunday
calendars usually start with Sunday, to avoid having two S together.
it also creates an almost perfect symmetry with only M and F being non reflected around the W
everyone knows WTF stands for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
TWT looks like a crying uwu
What non-terraria game does this look like to you guys? Trying to find the secret world seed and we're thinking it might be a reference to something...
This snake structure in particular, makes me think of some kind of side-scroller, where you go through some kind of dungeon or gauntlet... any ideas?
vaguely reminds me of underground worms stages but i doubt thats it
I’ve been poking around lately trying to find anything official 3d printable for the game, but the most I’ve found are model dumps from two years ago or people selling model files. Is there anything “official” or a process to extract the models ourselves for personal use?

This is someone that’s been playing this series from the beginning
You can just tell
Unlimited texts means unlimited texts
noita
that is my first thought
Clearly noita
Nice seed
I'll forward this to my cohorts and see if we can use this info to find the seed, thank you two!
looks familiar
I think the seed name has something to do with larva
Nah that's only one of the dungeons, the other doesn't have a jungle
I feel dumb, it's terraria
No I wanted non-terraria games
We’re trying to see if it references any other games in the dungeon’s structure in case it hints towards a potential name
https://www.reddit.com/r/Terraria/comments/1qoq2ze/some_of_the_new_secret_world_seeds_rendered/
It's called dual dungeons
It is but it’s not intended, the old seed name was dualdungeons, which is accessed on console and mobile. The intended seed is unknown
Well noita is close, starbound is a spiritual successor but it sucks
We’re trying to find the intended seed because they’ll probably fix mobile and console
I don't get what you are asking
I explained it, we asked what game the terraria screenshot looks like to see if the seed name is a reference to that game
🤔
Xelsios and the Quest for the Intended Seed
I doubt it
There I made it sound cool
Seems nobody has found it, might literally be the creation of the dev and nothing more
No they are made to be found they're just difficult 'cause they're a thing you can't really reverse-engineer
They know it exists: inspection of the code reveals a function for world-gen that is called "dithering snake", which is what creates it.
However, the "password" to trigger that code on PC is unknown right now, because the game checks for a certain one-way hash.

On multiple occasions, I’ve started Bug Fables and never finished it. Born of Bread was fun but I ended up not finishing that one either. Feelsbad…
i still haven't boot up born of bread....
and its my library since 2 years
bug fables, i have like 100 hours on it
compare to a paper mario difficulty, base game is alr harder, but i did the entire game on hard mod dirrectly...
(chapter 3 boss was a pain)
Yeah that game was definitely more of a challenge
and i did brought escape from ever after
That and Outbound ghost are on my wishlist
I’m holding off until I’m really craving that kinda game again
Happy Groundhog Day!
haven't gotten too far in ever after, but seems okay so far; the main issue is the ridiculous timing windows
Oof. That’s no bueno. And missing timing for that kinda combat can make or break the experience of playing it
it does have an auto-complete setting to do it for you but then that takes away a core gameplay element
a recent patch did add in "guard feedback" so you can turn it on to tell you if your were early or late to help you learn the timing
Didn't even realize xD
Happy Groundhog day!
it doesn't fix the timing itself though. for context, ttyd is 8/60 and 3/60 for it's guards, big fables is 19(15+4)/60
no joke, ever after feels like it's literally frame perfect
the dev is still active and updating the game, for example the guard feedback setting was due to characters not reacting to a bad input
