When that happened with AA 191, the result was that it destroyed the leading edge of the wing and ripped open hydraulic lines that helped control vital moving parts on the aircraft. I am 99% sure this is what happened with UPS 2976 as well.

All the similarities between both crashes are as follows:
Both AA 191 and UPS 2975 were 3-engine jumbo jets having the third engine mounted in the tail.
Both engines that fell off were on the left wing.
It was the rear part of the engine pylon that failed.
Both engines arced themselves over the wing before flying off.
From the looks of the UPS flight, it appears the engine's dismount destroyed the leading edge of the wing and broke hydraulic lines just like in AA 191's case.
The loss of this one engine and the damage sustained from it resulted in both aircraft crashing in just a few moments after takeoff.
We will have to wait and see if the reason for this failure was just because the MD-11F serving as UPS 2976 was old or if there were maintenance shortcuts being taken that damaged the engine pylon like in AA 191's case. However, no matter how you look at it, the elements of the accidents between both AA 191 and UPS 2976 bears an uncanny resemblance.

If they're so inclined to do so, maybe downloading The Fixes mod could be a good idea for them. Also, keep in mind the game crashes when the texture quality is set to high on certain maps since they were never optimized for that graphics setting.
