The talk about new patents and a 'fast-tracked' lawsuit is where the real business war is happening. The suit probably isn't about Palworld as much as it is about setting a legal precedent for the monster-taming genre moving forward. If they can successfully sue (or even just get a settlement) over a 'creature with a gun' game, it puts a massive chilling effect on any other ambitious competitors who want to try a new take on their core formula.
