Those are two significantly different numbers
Their stuff is massively overpriced nowadays
If they can charge $100 for an alarm clock, they for sure can charge $150 for a tamagotchi
Tamagotchi still exist?
I got my sister one for christmas haha
Maybe even $200

50 bucks per line
Damn, Hanoi got 11 moons
more moon plz
I'm a firm believer that opinions can absolutely be wrong, and the statement "It's just my opinion" is in only copium. That being said, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is probably the greatest game that will come out this decade, it will be GOTY this year, with the runner-up being Silksong, and even that will be leagues ahead of anything else that will be nominated. If you disagree, you're just wrong.
real funny way of saying "Lunaris is best pal" but yeah sure
Silksomg is still Leagues ahead of Tainted Grail, that being said, I will pick that up because it does look good.
Are you sure you are a firm believer that opinions can be wrong?
my city didn't get mooned 😔

Who’s gonna lock up Geoff?
Ah yes, Palworld at TGA
Modded Hardware, a company that sold modified Switch consoles, pirated games, and piracy-enabling devices such as the MIG Switch.
Wait… why the heck did he try to defend that?

Well, everyone likes to fight for their rights but they end up in a hole
I see the gray area on just the devices but selling pirated games? Is that accurate or did IGN just throw that in there?
That doesn’t include actual selling pirated games.
Just all the items to enable that.
Either way, pretty hard to defend if they ever endorsed that use case.
nintendo really dose like ruining pepoles lives huh?
yeah i really doubt this guy has ever seen 2 million dollars even like, in a hypothetical cumulation of all his income before any expenses
Depends how well his business did.
I think what happened to that Bowser fella is pretty much modern day slavery.
Corpos can be disgusting and vile.

Are there any good corpos left?
I can only hope so, OverProtector.
The triple "A" is collectively freaking out about silksong and it's hilarious
They getting mad that a good game is released at a fair price, is well made, and sold millions of copies
are they though?
All gaming dev linkedin and socials has been glowing praise
I'm not seeing any of the anger at all...
Kind of smells like Twitter enjoyers fishing for drama
screeching is mostly coming from game journalists
That Strife person isn't even a dev according to their bio
The only actual drama around Silksong right now is the localization issue. Everything else seems pretty made up.
They are mad that silksong released a full game for the same price as their microtransactions for horse armor
Who is

This isn't AAA though
It's 1 journalist and a couple indies on bluesky

I think the leaks from the Chinese translator are pretty serious
but I don't know anyone who was upset about the launch timing or pricing
everyone dev I've spoken to or seen post about it has been so positive
Yeah, the positivity is overshadowing the seething

I wonder, would a Dune Collab be weird? Dint know what chat to use
I think it would be pretty hard to thematically fit it into Palworld…
and likewise, pretty tough to make it fit in Dune. So probably a no both ways.
Yeah, I just thougth because I remember a cattiva getting chased by those worms
In a image
I think palworld will not get a lot of collabs, I still wonder if we get dimesions in the future
Because of the tree being based on yggdrasil
Two way collabs take a lot of time and effort
I’d be open to exploring more one way stuff maybe in future
But it’s still a lot of work
I can see marcus dryden having a field day with a dune collab if that somehow happened lmao
Were it canon I could see him being a fan of it tbh
Whos Marcus dryden

Oh okay, He probably would use the Worms to threatened the whole palpagos into submission

Amazing. But I didn't even finish Hacker's Memory yet (almost on chapter 16)
But at least I will be able to jump up as soon as I am done

Does TemTem count and is it still a thing?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBXR85fjCHg
@prime agate freshly baked!
Lost Kingdoms if you're ok with them not being out all the time, collecting their cards, and it's from GC but still 3D if non pixel is what you meant. Sadly I wouldn't really describe it as cozy
Beyond that probably only temtem like kyran said, or knock off palworld/pokemon clones.
Maybe one of the newer dragon quest monsters but still not super cozy.
Monster Hunter Stories?
Heads-up everyone: Our channel has been hacked (yes, again...) The livestream happening now is not from us. We are working with YouTube to hopefully resolve this quickly. Thank you your patience and understanding
personally I'd be fine with smaller collabs, like pal skins or one-off items (felbat silksong mask, Minecraft diamond pickaxe)

funny thing is
its just a stick figure...
and yet
Nah it's just a stick figure 🫠
And YET……..
The stick figure makes it easier
this is neat. a pin?
That would make a nice fridge magnet
Stellar Blade ain’t got squat.
Nah Stellar Blade is great 🤤
But compared to Hornet?
I always wanted a game where you play as a living English ice bag.
Who's the ice bag?
from silksong
yeah...its a no match...
you can turn into a fridge in Banjo Kazooie
I'm talking about Silksong.
was there a fridge in kazooie? i thought it was a washing machine
you can be a fridge in Kirby 64
Washing Machine shows up briefly, as a mumbo making a mistake
It was in the horror lvl
And only the first time
oh damn, Im misremembering, youre right.
there was a long ass code I would input too to play as the Washing Machine
The washing machine would make a return in banjo tooie, as an official transformation
But it locked you out of certain areas.
For Grunty Industries
you can play as a washing machine in kazooie through a cheat code unlocked by playing the photo minigame
"wishywashybanjo"
yeah it was painful and took forever. but a fun novelty.
should I play Tooie? a lot of people told me to skip it because its too bloated compared to the first.
Tooie is good
Highly recommend especially if you have an Xbox to play the Xbox arcade version
There's no reason to skip Tooie
The Xbox arcade versions of kazooie and tooie run better than the N64 and have a few other improvements
Nintendo online recreates the original N64 experience and I'm pretty sure that includes tooie running like a slideshow in hailfire peaks
tooie is good, but it's a lot messier as levels aren't linear. you often have to go to level 3 to unlock a thing in level 1 to get an item for level 5 to grab a jiggy in 4....
That's just the switch struggling
No it's my favorite one
No that would be the N64 struggling and the switch replicating it
I've not gotten that far on NSO so I don't actually know but I know the original hardware can't run it very well
the switch reserves the "correct" (loosely) amount of resources the n64 had to stay true to the original
your pc likely doesn't care
Just to get ahead of it, these numbers aren’t provided by Team Cherry but come from an analytics firm.

And here I thought Kyran was going to chime in
Skip it, end the series in a good light.
I’m always non-sequitur
I don't really mind that. My favorite rare game, Jet Force Gemini, does this on several instances.
Gives new areas to explore within familiar grounds. It can be cool progression imo.
I think Nuts & Bolts would have been better as a Sonic game centered around Tails.
"wah wah I wanted yet another action adventure game in 2009"
My only issue with Jet Force Gemini is rescuing the million tribals on every area of every planet with every character for the last ship part....
Banjo kazooie was successful for being unapologetically original and then they do a different kind of original and now you hate it???
Backwards logic
Everyone dislikes this, fair. I didn't mind it so much.
But sometimes they die before you can rescue them 😭
No, Nuts and Bolts was just a bad game
I think Rith Essa especially gave me some trouble, without a guide.
tooie is fun on a first playthrough as long as you don't try to fully clear levels as you go
I mean you could play an actual vehicle builder where you have to understand engineering
Nuts & Bolts was going to be a brand new IP and the developers were told to make it into a Banjo Kazooie game.
Or you can play nuts and bolts where you are encouraged to solve problems in creative ways
i definitely enjoyed my first playthrough more than future ones: when replaying, it's easy to lose track of what you've done and haven't
Man, I 100%ed Tooie when I was a kid, no guides, didn't speak english yet
I have no idea how I managed
I remember thinking there should be more Jiggies after getting 90....
That's kind of odd haha. I guess you already know whats ahead and you anticipate things that should come sooner?
Other than the horrendous art direction of kazooie (pictures withheld for your sanity) nuts and bolts is probably the best game in the franchise
sort of; it's like you'll go to objective B, but you haven't done objective A yet on this playthrough cause you're remembering doing it in a different run
They should remaster nuts and bolts, and the only significant change is a laundry list of annoying bugs fixed and also kazooie isn't modeled to be the most hideous bird like creature imagined by man
Perfection
I hated the swimming mechanics in Banjo Kazooie.
Sorry Prima, but the game was bad, a flop and killed the franchise.
Just like the Conker game theyr did after Live and reloaded
Even in Super Mario 64 I hated the swimming mechanics. Spyro 2 spoiled me with some of the best swimming mechanics in a platformer.
Perfect Dark is also rip
There just isn't any Rare left in Microsoft at this point
I'm so sorry the banjo kazooie fan base is a bunch of children who can't handle the idea of not getting the exact same game 3 times
Rare has recently changed their name to Well Done
It's truly a tragedy rareware was punished so harshly for trying something new
It's ironic that people scream at Nintendo and Pokemon for being unoriginal but then also scream at rare for being... original?
TF you people want?
It wasn't well done
nuts and bolts was basically the federation force of bk. if it wasn't a bk game it would have probably been ok, People were more angry they slapped the bk name on it
It was bad
Do you want the same game every time or innovation you can't seem to decide except that every time a company guesses they're wrong
You'll say that while ignoring Viva Piñata
Id like to try Nuts and Bolts myself. It seems fascinating.
From what I remember, there seems to be leftover data that indicates it was intended to be a full feature platformer before becoming vehicle mania
It was a very good game imo
It's ok to like something bad and enjoy it. Acting like everyone else is stupid for not liking it is dumb imo
Yeah not as good vehicle building as space engineers or scrap mechanic but like
You have to understand and adhere to engineering principles in those games, things most people aren't very good at
tooie and kazooie weren't the same game; tooie took what kazooie did and expanded upon it.
a third entry should have expanded upon tooie.
linear>non linear>open world
for example
A child could Intuit the mechanics of nuts and bolts
Kinda weird after they teased Threeie at the end of Tooie
I do wonder what they were thinking with the art style departure though. It's too stylistically blocky.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
The art style is at best ok and at worst an atrocity
the Devs did actually address this; it was a throwaway joke line and wasn't meant to be taken as confirmation
They had to translate N64 graphics to 7th generation graphics. That's a pretty big jump
Conker looked alright. Maybe a bit too furry, but his installment seemed in line with a next gen Rare game.
As someone who considered and still considers kazooie a role model, I cannot stress enough how dirty they did her in nuts and bolts
I used to hate nuts and bolts SOLELY based on how bad kazooie looked
And also because the Internet told me to
But then I grew up
Role model? Do you live in a big man's backpack?
And realized the Internet should not decide my opinions

No I'm just offensive and rude
Playing the N64 Dinosaur Planet was cool though
And maybe I'm biased because I love creative vehicle based gameplay but nuts and bolts is just a very fun time
It's crazy how much that game changed
And honestly a good video game
Especially if you're wanting to get into the genre of vehicle building but are intimidated by the complexity of games like scrap mechanic
even if Nuts & Bolts is a good game, it's still a bad Banjo Kazooie game.
It's less than I think it's a perfect game and more that I think the hate for it is childish and stupid
posted the conk to show that a closer art style to the original BK was possible
I understand that they probably wanted something new to stand out..but going with "Money For Nothing" wasnt the right call imo
Literally all of it amounts to either "it's buggy" or "it isn't banjo threeie"
im willing to give it a try. is my homeboy Sergant Jamjars in?
I think he skipped town unfortunately
.....Im refunding.
Butttt you can hit bottles with a car
I'm buying.
Actually you can hit everyone with a car that's like
Implicit
To the genre
If you use a few brain cells you can even hit banjo with a car
They also have funny dialogue when you hit them with a car
I actually remember crying when my cousin was playing Tooie and the spectacled one died. I'm not sure why his death moved me. 😔
I was like 6 though lol.
The main drawback of the game besides kazooie's art direction is that they unironically used comic sans as the game font
Which I dunno maybe they were always using comic sans but the compression for N64 display made it look normal
My palworld base has tons of nuts and bolts
I got nuts and bolts galore
Actually I'm pretty sure those are rivets
What difference does it make?
nuts and bolts are reversible.
Couldn't send what I wanted to say, so this will have to do.
#off-topic-memes message
how could you
What's honestly funny about this long winded discussion is that LoZ TotK is the nuts and bolts of Zelda.
But it worked for the series because it complimented instead of overriding the core gameplay.
The fact federation force was brought up was an interesting tidbit, because it was never meant to be a metroid title. It was just called Blastball before the last-minute IP change.
Which resulted in the game getting expanded beyond the blastball mode.
TotK building SUCKED
That's actually an accessibility feature, intended or not
I would rather drink water from a toilet than try to build a vehicle in tears of the kingdom
It adds a clunky headache to an otherwise perfectly functional exploration game and then repeatedly asks "🥺 pretty please use it,.,, but not too much pls it's still a zelda game"
https://vxtwitter.com/manu_burrito_/status/1965453457357524997?t=tCAfq_ZUyPdSErsTE4ow6w&s=19
Here, feel a little better Ms. Primarinabee
Yeah
I had to draw it https://t.co/a1S6YlZO8K
QRT: Sage_VALE_
Sonic Racing Crossworlds Sage rival and item dialogue
Sage vs. CharmyCrossworlds rival dialogue charmy 1/2
Sage: “Your behavioral patterns are erratic. Your statements are illogical. Why are you allowed on the Chaotix?”Charmy: “Because I'm awesome! You just can't see it! Guess you're not so smart after all! Nyah-nyah!”
Crossworlds rival dialogue charmy 2/2
Charmy: “Yay! Another kid to play with! FINALLY! Let's still be friends when I beat you in the race, okay?”Sage: “Your leaps in logic and assumptions are... incalculable. Is this actually some kind of genius psychological warfare?”
Crossworlds item dialogue charmy 1/2
Sage (Item Hit): “For you, Charmy.”…
Would you rather build a tiolet in TOTK and drink it though?
You can't build a toilet in totk
what's the limit on parts, like 12 or so per creation
why even bother put in the mechanic at that point
Damn, bad game
recently started playing TF2. it's such a cool game.
it doesnt have vehicles however. just wanted to put that out there
TF2
Extremely based
Mr. D keeps hitting
But TF2 indeed has vehicles 🤓
Nuts and Bolts let me empty the entire inventory of Super Body Parts into a single vehicle and only when I start dumping on Light Body Parts does it say "hey my guy the Xbox 360 is going to explode into a million pieces if you add any more parts"
I will Ubercharge this server.
Cooper, trust me.
and the parts were so so good
Rotate a small propeller and voila
Functional helicopter
4/10 Can build a flaming dick man, but not a tiolet.
(Probably for the best due to a certain series that is brainrotting to the kids.)
The most effective attack I could find for vehicles in ToTk was running people over with cars
all of the cannons and lasers and stuffs were programmed to suck as much as possible to make sure you didn't try to actually play nuts and bolts style
I love doing that. (I say trying not to sound like a psychopath.)
comparing the two is an insult to nuts and bolts
Driving in my car...
After having a beer.
And if you do it again I will run you over with a car powered by 4 large jets
Its still an accurate comparison in the context of genre shifts.
. . .
Sorry
Not really, because my underlying point is that Totk is still literally breath of the wild
there was no genre change because due to either system limitations or wanting to be consistent, they limited vehicle building to an incredibly insignificant sideshow
Only a couple puzzles used it, and if you were committed you could probably complete the entire main game without placing a single zonai device, possibly without even using ones already lying around
it's not even an "at its core"
On its surface, it is still the exact same kind of game as before
Palworld's Number 1 Fan, do you plan on steam, console or both?
@jaunty kraken why have you never shown me this masterpiece before
You can brute force most games without engaging in fun gameplay mechanics.
You definitely cannot beat nuts and bolts without either building cars or like engaging in an obscene number of exploits
Idk I found it on Know Your Meme once
I never found it, apologies for my failure
your execution is at sundown
Vehicle building is not a core part of tears of the kingdom
the core and majority of ToTk is link swinging a sword like a maniac and HYAA HYUP HAA HIYYAA ing his way through the demon king's army and then through the demon king himself
https://x.com/nalaa_1321/status/1964530651790791112?t=ao34w5rKhLUTYk4bMvHh6A&s=19
https://x.com/Sao_Sane/status/1961490573467996596?t=LfkTgWyvwxomsgM7POF9fQ&s=19
Is this good enough of a bailout?
That's a weird looking pal
Ok well
It's him doing that through an open world
I suppose you can live
Thanks a lot Ms. Primarinabee! 🫡
Just reducing it to the sword swinging does undermine the innovations of breath of the wild
but there wasn't a very big shift in design between the two games
whereas Nuts and Bolts only superficially resembles its predecessors
if you replaced the characters and items it would be completely unrecognizable
if you did the same in tears of the kingdom you'd say "wow, this is one weird breath of the wild clone"
*for today

This actually happens to animals that eat overripe fruit...

Me when no news regarding the Palworld lawsuit: 🧘♂️
Me when some article comes out whenever Nintendo/TPC does something regarding patents that could relate to the lawsuit:

Me when Bucky tells us not to fall for the rage bait:
See the trick is to just not read gamunh journalism
The only gaming articles I've read in probably years is the one by IGN about the glider restoration mod
And only for narcissistic reasons
some people seem to be spreading rumors about the next Palworld update, and I can say that they are all real.
We're getting a racecar bed??
even the part with the racecar driver and the pirate ship?
What rumors
all of them
you will be able to make your own racing ship car
no way undertale crossover? We're getting a papyrus pal?!
this is a pretty decent idea
What rumors
Nintendo has seriously lost their minds.
Next step: They will claim the ownership of being able to press a button to make a character move.
they should patent walking in video games
Or patent the human ability of turning on a vídeo game.
I'm just surprised how on earth no one on the patenting side ever checked how practical this patent is on the larger context.
Bribery goes far in the US, they call it "Lobbying"
Wait till the other AAA developers come banging on their door.
Activision-Blizzard and Bethesda being one.
Or even Bandai Namco.
And Microsoft and Hoyoverse.
Same thoughts.
It sucks being a Nintendo fan. You love their games and franchices but they pull shit like this for the other games you like...
At this stage they would lose a lot of their casuals or average gamers if this news explode into mainstream coverage.
I think you have that backwards
their casual fans don't care, they're like
"wow that sucks for those guys" and then click pre-order
Nintendo v Pocket Pair “drama” isn’t gonna stop me from gaming on my Switch and continuing to play first party IP’s. Imagine letting something like this sway you from playing what you wanna play
One cannot be for certain if this article is confirmed or not.
We can only speculate each possible outcome to this.
They threw it away and burned it when shit hit the fan.
2 things:
-
Nothing on the switch 2 actually is swaying me into wanting to play it
-
I should also exercise my right to decide where my money goes. The lawsuit is one thing, sure, but there’s many other reasons to not want to give a certain company my money, the lawsuit was just the breaking point. I’m not gonna get into that laundry list, but I especially don’t want to reward the behavior of a certain company (there’s multiple companies this can apply to) with my hard earned money
They go full on unmasked unhinged mode.
True. Won't deny that.
The most disturbing dirty tactic is Nintendo may go after indie games that can't fight back while letting big corpos get away.
Basically bullying the weak.
I'm sorry, how can normal people relate to that as being fine?
They made an expensive clock, they patent miniscule game mechanics, they overprice their stuff, and they friend zoned the plumber, as well as other things during this decade. They have became stubborn and spiteful. That's all I have to say. It's getting late for me.
Not to mention the diabolical ToS of owning a Switch 2 like them bricking your console for minor infraction. Like using a third party control dock.
Don't forget trying to sue a Central American convenience store for it's name.
That too. I’d like to own the products I purchase please (Nintendo isn’t the only one guilty of this)
Tbf that's before Nintendo.
Stupid Ubisoft.
Wanna see something funny? (Okay, maybe that's not funny.)
https://www.suedbynintendo.com/
According to the website, they played this game 84 times.
There's literally a website keeping track of this BS.
Even the most evil fictional organization isn't this petty.
This should be a template for one.
Yep, and I laughed my ass off while reading them.
Don't forget the facepalm.
Laughing and facepalming at the same time
If their characters were real and living, they'd probably have some say in this. Or maybe not, and their creators would have them at gunpoint and force them to be silent. Which honestly sounds like a story for a dystopian film.
Imagine trying to own something that is considered flesh and blood. That has to be a step too far in terms of legality. That's basically slave owning at that point.

People who water cool PCs are batshit insane!
Whatta mean
Didn’t we all learn for 20-30 years not to mix water with electronics?
Water kills electronics
In theory it makes sense. Water is one of the best absorbers of heat. Also I'm pretty sure water cooled PCs (1) use distilled water, which means build up of unwanted microscopic materials is less likely, and (2) the electronics aren't actually making contact with the water, instead its some kind of heat sink that is simply built into the water loop instead of to a fan
True but water is also a hella good conductor of heat, which is why water cooling makes alot of sense. the All-In-One design has made water cooling (at least the CPU) pretty easy and painless
You gotta have the best leak protection money can buy
If you're going for just cooling your CPU, all ya need is a AIO kit that's decent quality, which almost all modern mid range AIOs are
Yea, Ive never had the nerve or money to even consider water cooling
Water is actually an extremely poor conductor, and pure distilled water just does not conduct electricity
I barely afforded my $1500 discount gaming PC
The reason water conducts electricity is because it usually has things dissolved in it. Salt, for example, makes it a pretty good conductor
Sugar too
However, water is amazing at conducting thermal energy, far better than air
The searing heat of a processor quite readily jumps into a tube of flowing water, which can then dump it into a radiator into the air over a much larger area, and it can do this with a completely sealed system that never has any fluid or solid enter or exit the stream for its entire operational life
Really the main problem is that it's completely overkill for most systems
Except when it leaks
it doesn't.
there's no valves or seals or openings that can decay and leak
A space shuttle is going to lose air to outer space faster than a liquid cooling system is going to leak liquid onto the system
and if it gets damaged, well, I can't imagine anything that would damage ONLY the cooling system and not physically damage other components with the direct damage
Water is actually important to electronics
They build up static charge that can discharge and fry the system, but water vapor swipes that static charge before it can build up. Servers are intentionally kept in slightly humid environments for this reason
and if you're going to service electronics, you should do it during summer months when the air is wetter
it reduces the possibility that you or your computer has a residual static charge that will fry it while you're working
Again, we learned for 20-30 years not to mix water and electronics
I mean, if you're servicing electronics you should have a lot more things protecting against static discharge than water vapor, but as long as it isn't at a concentration that it falls out of solution and condenses as a liquid, water vapor will further reduce the risks
Source: i am partially certified to service electronics.
You're not mixing water and electronics, you're using water as part of a cooling system, something that has been tried and tested for hundreds of years
The two items are quite separated
I mean, there are definitely worse things to put physically near each other, like hypergolic rocket fuels
They're nintendo, they can do whatever the hell they want
Imagine my shock
yeah the other day they beat me up and stole my lunch money
I don't even have lunch money, I eat homemade lunch, and they somehow stole my lunch money anyway
What a bunch of mfers
Patent is one thing , they gonna have to challenge the legallity of it when it come to the court , so it is not a true I WIN button for nintendo .
I do wish big studio start to show support for Palworld and pocketpair instead of staying on the sideline and watch how thing unfold , that patent is too vague you could say all Druid and Mage class are lawsuit waiting to happen .
So is palworld cooked, how will the devs change that?
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company received a U.S. patent on summoning a character and letting it fight another
Nintendo has recently acquired a new patent for summoning a character and letting it fight another, as its Palworld lawsuit continues.
During this Nintendo v Palworld lawsuit, we have seen the former acquire and modify several patents. In July 2025, one of its patent claims regarding smooth switching between flying and riding objects was modified. Nintendo had also acquired two more anti-Palworld patents a few months before this.
—- Nintendo’s New Patent Could Impact Every Game that Features Summoning Characters and Letting Them Fight Each Other
Spotted by GameRant, Games Fray’s new report reveals that Nintendo now owns U.S. Patent No. 12,409,387, which is related to “smooth switching or riding objects.” Additionally, a week ago, Nintendo was granted U.S. Patent No. 12,403,397, which is related to summoning characters and allowing them to engage in combat against one another. The first patent could impact Pocketpair if they win the lawsuit against Nintendo in Japan and want to revert to their previous smooth switching of the riding feature, as the patent would be in effect in the United States.
The company was able to acquire it without any hiccups. It was applied for in March 2023, granted in July 2025, and issued last week. The new patent that Nintendo has acquired could pose a problem not only for Palworld but also for any other game that features or will feature character summons that fight each other. Nintendo’s new patent comprises six claims; check them out below:
-
The first one states that there should be a PC, console, or any other computing device for the game to run on.
-
Secondly, players should be able to move a character in a virtual space.
-
The subsequent claim states that the first character should be able to summon a sub-character, similar to how Pokémon are summoned.
I might as well buy the game now, since I feel like it might get unlisted on steam. (Was saving for pvz remark but this seems dire)
-
The fourth claim talks about summoning this sub-character in a space where there is another character, and they are instructed to fight.
-
The fifth claim describes a different scenario in which the player can summon a sub-character in a space with no enemy characters to fight.
-
The final claim talks about an automatic battle being triggered when the sub-character walks in the direction of another character

It's really unfortunate that Nintendo doesn't want a competition, otherwise they would make great games.
What is unfortunate that other studio not raising their eyebrow after reading such vague patent.
I mean I don't think people who accepting those patents really care in the US
On other news , Urahara the horse just recently die , man everytime i wake up the world gone crappy ....
Ok the game is currently on 25 off, should I get it or wait for better sales again I'm doing this just in case the game gets delisted
I don't think it's going to get delisted but palworld is unlikely to go on sale for much cheaper anytime soon
Maybe 33% off?
another soul lost to the fog
What happens when there's no competition.
You get slop after slop after slop.
@daring yoke ping here if you have any questions
The game is delayed rn you can probably guess why

I know what's their damn intention.
And they should not have any direct business in video games when there are other industries also using them.
Exactly, this is a clear power grab and they want further control... Their audacity really shows, after all that debacle of them meddling with how storefronts like Steam and itch io operates, now they're doing this...
What a bunch of hypocrites
In my country Steam was mysteriously labeled as fraudulent by my bank's fraud team to the point my card would get blocked for adding funds.
Curiously this wasn't the case before.
Ur bank should get sued, Steam operates legally and have wide catalogues of legal games, and even adult games
Point out where in their business policies they're allowed to police what people can use the card for.
Exactly. I'm definitely planning to write in to my bank.
All banks should be doing is giving u ur money or storing them. What u do with ur money has nothing to do with them anymore
Yes, there are worst businesses to cut ties with than with games.
Also, in one of Visa's (1200-1400 pages rules) they say they're allowed to meddle and get storefronts remove things they deem to be "Lacking in Artistic value"
What's this? They're now arbiters of what counts as artistic content? What a load of bs
So they can literally block a world class artist and their portrait of colour splashes because they can't see the art.
Agreed, every days just get worse as time goes by with all those lunatics running rampant trying to control people's lives and businesses
You would be laughed out if you try something like this in the past decade.
Visa, Mastercard and other payment processors are unregulated, that's why they're very much on a power-trip
But I hate slop 😭
Not to the Nintendo shills.
Yea and the public have more power, now politicians seem to forget they're public servants and businesses should all be regulated, especially payment processors
Why does Sonic crossword looks better than Mario kart world?
Me rn playing palworld vs me playing none patent palworld a year ago:
In before this site get C&Ded.
At what point will it simply become cost advantageous for Pocketpair to create a legal division with the express purpose of attacking Nintendo’s patents?
It’s pretty clear Nintendo’s intention is to pin them down on the defensive in perpetuity.

I found the best way to actually own the games you buy. Buy physical games only
This looks sick
And it's a rare case of public domain being used for something that ISN'T horror slop
Remember that even if you get physical games, you need a physical system that won’t be bricked on you if you try to use said physical game
Alright, how bout my Linux PC
And an external disc drive
And this was in the US! That’s it, I have no hope this will go well
There’s so much prior art, this is literally just to waste everyone’s time.
Pocketpair surely has no interest in becoming a proactive to fight these things but at what point…
who know
Not exactly.
Just prove that they did not invent this mechanic by showing other games with similar gameplay.
No guarantee but there's a chance.
Not to mention possible argument of biasness if proven.
Especially with the ride mechanics.
Since Digimon and Nexus Anima has similar mechanics.
If Nintendo is serious, they'd sue both too.
Counterpoint: American legal system is absolutely corrupt and if they were paid enough money, they’ll hypocritically stand by this patent
If they're not, this only proves anticompetitive bias.
They’re gonna sue everybody if they somehow win that.
Industry over
In other words, Nintendo is proving to be corrupt Darth Sidious style.
And their family friendly image is all just a masquerade.
They were probably bribed to approve it in the first place.
Which is literally what everyone is afraid. Pocketpair is basically indie game's only hope to stay alive.
Pretty much, lol
Literally that scenario.
And Nintendo as the Galactic Empire fits perfectly too.
Except even the Empire isn't this petty.
It would be nice to see someone go on the offensive and start suing Nintendo and the patent office to get these disingenuous patents revoked, but who’s gonna do that?
The situation would have to get REALLY severe for anyone to do that.
You could do a Luigi on them
Well, Nintendo is going to get rid of every single game that violates its patents, which is most of them
Including ark, shin megami tensei, ark, digimon, yugioh, and of course this game
And we can’t do anything to stop it
Im gonna take a look at open source games
Basically, Pokémon will become the only monster catcher because Nintendo hates competition
well we idk if Nintendo is going get rid of every single game
They will never stop until they have a monopoly again
Nintendo’s very existence is a threat to every gamer
They will
They will find a reason
They want to be the only game company remaining
@sonic badger @glad needle you know it a DMCA is a copyright statute, not patent related
Patent can turn into dmca, and takedown
Patent infringing is a thing
They want to take down all Pokémon competition
They want no one else to make monster catcher games but them
Nintendo will never stop until they take down every single game company on the planet
And no one can stop them, since they already have 300 patents
Love how we will be stuck with the boring Pokémon forever
beside if Nintendo want takedown Palworld, they can do it right now but they don't want do, so they just sued Pocketpair for damage
Give it time, they will find a reason to
What do you think “injunction against Palworld” means
When a game does better than theirs? ‘Oh, you infringed on our patent! Take it down, or we will sue you for all your company is worth’
Because Nintendo is a shit ass fucking company that deserves to go bankrupt, and all their employees deserve to be homeless
...
They need to be blacklisted everywhere
Anyway, I will stop talking
Sorry
I just don’t want all of the game industry to be affected
The only solution is to destroy Nintendo
Let’s stop talking like this, m8
I don’t want to be banned from this server
I was just angry
Welcome to #chicken-little-chat
Why didn't you tell me the sky was falling!??!?!? I must begin my panic!!!!
So you just are not worried that Nintendo is going to sue every single monster catcher in the world if it gets better than theirs?
Sorry, that was blowing it out of proportions
But you get the point
I already stated a notion on that.
The patent is literally talking about summoning creatures to aid you in battle
They are patenting the monster catcher game
They have those in Japan as well that Pocketpair is actively fighting.
They secured it, though
Basically powerful one would be a collective of groups. I hope Hoyoverse would start first...
They secured the patent
Doesn’t mean as much as you think.
It can be challenged.
Nintendo is just bullying, that’s all there is to it.
Especially when there's malicious intent or they're not the one who invented it.
So no one can make a monster catcher without going to court with Nintendo
I hope the creator of shin megami tensei sues them for copyright, then
They started it
Imagine WotC, Blizzard or Square Enix reading this patent. They'd be raising their eyebrows at Nintendo's stupid patent.
That's Sega basically.
So sega suing Nintendo
Funnily...from Japan. With a more established hold in the industry compared to Pocketpair.
Pocketpair themselves owns prior art that predates even the parent patents of those Nintendo is using to sue with right now. That means Nintendo arguably stole Pocketpair’s invention to sue the said inventor.
So yeah they’re fighting it.
🤔 is laughing to self bc if the patent isn't written correctly then pest control agencies are no longer allowed to capture pests
That's the best part. If Pocketpair have their own concepts on paper, they can basically go up to the court and say they have this concept too and their patents were filled after the game was out.
I wanna see Nintendo employees ending up homeless and blacklisted by every other business in Japan
Which explains Nintendo's cowardice changing their patents mid-trial.
They have it in a preexisting product, it’s prior art either way.
Even if it's not unusual, the fact lawyers were baffled at the wording used in the updated patents doesn't bode well for these jackals.
That’s kinda messed up, man.
Not all of them. Only the jerk who came up with this idea.
No worse than Nintendo’s behavior towards any competition
And Pocketpair can pick up all their talented developers instead.
Nintendo: sees competition
LAWSUIT!
I would not hire Nintendo devs to clean my store after hours
Updating patents mid lawsuit is like an admission of guilt, imo. 😆
If only it’s seen that way in the court of law (maybe it is, idfk)
Literally this.
And no amount of gaslighting about Temtem or Cassette Beast being allowed on Switch is going to convince me otherwise.
Under normal circumstances Nintendo always approaches anyone they have an issue with and only bites if the target doesn’t initially comply. They did no such thing with Pocketpair.
They asked for licensing fee...for something they did not invent.
Not before the lawsuit
They knew they didn’t have a copyright case because Pocketpair did their due diligence so Nintendo fabricated a problem to sue for.
What does this mean for palworld?
They put a cease and desist clause, saying the game needed to be removed from stores and no longer sold in the intial letter.
Most likely nothing.
I hope so
Again for a weak argument. It's like CoD asking for C&D of Battlefield or vice versa because they're shooter games.
Other than small (hopefully temporary) changes to the game just to leave nothing legitimate for Nintendo to fight with.
We wait until something is posted to know, that way, we aren't taking the word of youtubers and rumor grabbers
Ditto.
Grifters gonna grift
Either that or Pocketpair getting a huge injection in revenue to keep up the fight.
Sony and Aniplex...
They can afford it.
It’s not at all ideal but Palworld is a stupidly huge hit.
The longer this last, the more deranged Nintendo gets.
Nintendo is the one dragging it out. This is deliberate right from the get go, imo.
I want to see them butcher their family friendly facade especially if Palworld expands into other media and be successful.
It is. That's kinda the argument right now regarding the patent adjustment.
It's not about winning anymore, or at least not the priority
It's about trolling with delay.
Morning
New “Mega” revealed
Morning
Reading some of these messages
The world is going mad as usual
At least we're still alive
Nintendo's new patent now potentially threatens Dragon Quest, Shin Megami Tensei/Persona, Like A Dragon, Digimon, Astral Chain, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle R, Terraria, Yo-Kai Watch, Monster Hunter, Monster Rancher, The Elder Scrolls, The Binding of Isaac, and many, MANY more games that have existed well before this patent.
What u mean
Can u explain what's happening i dont understand
Nintendo made a patent on being able to summon a character to fight for you
Where ?
So now if another game has a system where you can summon a character to fight for you, Nintendo can sue them
USA
This one I can see
So what about it that.means he will lawsuit other games ?
Potentially, yes.
Patent laws are extremely stupid and companies often get away with it because judges often do not know amything about games.
The flair off to the sides completes the silhouette.
Nintendo. They've been doing it to patent troll (creating and keeping patents for the sole purpose of either making money or destroying competition) Palworld
They keep making new patents to tack onto their current lawsuit because it's somehow legal
raises hand
Not meaning to defend here, but the end purpose of a patent is to make money
Fak Nintendo very bad of them to do suck stupidity it's like dirty fighting
Yes and it sucks and should be completely torn down
It's not even the same as copyright. A patent is basically "This is how something works mechanically, so now I own that concept"
Stupid of them a war will start if they donthis
It completely stifles innovation and serves only to fill the pockets of trolls
It's been happening for like 3 years now
Nintendo very bad company it failed to my eyes just now
Patents can be a great thing. If you created something entirely new, the patent would allow you to earn from your creation without others taking it as their own.
The issue comes about with how they are being used in many applications and legal loopholes that are being allowed.
Patents can also be the most hellish thing on Earth when used to patent certain medicines....
Clickbaiter?
You're referring to when HIV medicine costed insane prices because it was bought out by an internet troll who used the patent to prevent anyone else from developing HIV medication at a reasonable price?
That tactic would get u banned in wow
Crash smash 6 confirmed 30 anniversary!!!??
I might be. I only remembered, "a-hole patented medicine and kept it out if circulation"
?
More recent example is insulin
Yeah that was HIV medicine. The dude was filthy rich and got enjoyment out of seeing people die from HIV
Ignore that
PharmaBro Shkreli
"Click ||here|| to turn the Malmud into a Lawyer!"
(best clickbait thing I could think of.... I should go make coffee)
Techbros are also ruining patents. One recent example is a techbro coming up with a new system of transportation where a vehicle would drive along pre-determined routes and stop at designated stops to let people on or off of the vehicle.
You may know this technology currently as a "bus"
🤣
That's in literally every rpg ever made and a ton of other genre's
It was bound to happen. It’ll probably run like “MTA Mobility”, but not exactly for those that need Mobility
Can nintendo go away for 5 minutes?
Remember when Amazon made a patent for a wage cage, which locks workers in a literal cage that can only be unlocked via an electronic pad on the outside?
I have no dating disaster stories for you now, I haven't found any dates though
O.o they stole that from bread factories of the olden days!
(The owners used to lock the bread makers in the shop to ensure they remained on premise for dough rising times)
Sounds like you are having a good few days then xD
lol that patent
If you build a cage, sit it on top of a robot and have the cage move around the warehouse to pick up stuff
https://vxtwitter.com/u_m_a_m_i/status/1612572153563566090?t=yxW1vBWbMAw3tU-mspzSSg&s=19
There's also this
no joke this would actually be a way to skip adverts you've seen before if you've seen the ad too much
It'll take a lot of power and maintenance to keep the thing running
sees jet 2 holiday for the 20th time today
instantly skips add without having to get up
Large companies patent every idea that comes up internally. The vast majority never become a product or even an issue.
Jet 2 holiday, go to dubai and get murdered
I believe part of that patent requires the person to stand up, or perform a drastic movement. It needs to see movement and hear the brand
Some even give employees incentives for them to surrender ideas for the company to patent.
"your honour, my opponent has summoned a lawyer to fight for them, thus violating our patent. we seek an injunction against the defence's lawyer"
It's like patenting firing a projectile, you gonna sue every fps?
Colleges do this too.
Any projects you create while attending belong to them. Even if it is something on your own time at home. If it can be proven that you started it while in college they can claim ownership bc you were using their facilities or what you learned there
That’s more of an adjacent situation, but yes. This is true.
I'll trash any prototypes and destroy any records before it gets taken, f that
TMP: Too many patents.
When you go under someone’s wing right from the start you sign an agreement explaining how these things are handled.
So what you're saying is, the projects I did that were actually good could've gotten me a noble prize if I went further with the ideas? That sucks.
you know whats insane about the patent? nintendo didnt invent summoning a creature and using it to battle yet they still got it.
That’s the biggest time waster of all of this
I take it you also watch Mentiswave? Abolishing patents, or at least severely limiting them would be a net positive for society, especially with medical costs.
No idea, the school would get the credit though
Alright, some of you nerds should learn Japanese and work to become judges in Japanese courts so that in like 40 years you can try to overturn some of today's insanity, because it's clear that nobody with common sense and awareness fo today's landscape is making these rulings.
Never heard of them
How would that help?
It was a U.S. patent signed in the U.S. by a U.S. judge 🙂
💀
Cosmic Soldier (1985): In this Japanese-developed game, players could recruit alien creatures to join their party and command them in battle, which was a very early take on the monster-taming niche.
Chaos: The Battle of Wizards (1985): In this turn-based strategy game for the ZX Spectrum, wizards summon creatures and cast spells to defeat each other. The summoned monsters are the primary units used in combat.
Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei (1987): The origin of the popular Shin Megami Tensei series, this Japanese RPG allowed players to entice demons and other mythological creatures to join their party and fight alongside them.
Wizardry IV: The Return of Werdna (1987): This installment in the Wizardry series, a seminal computer RPG franchise, introduced a system that allowed the player to summon monsters to join their party.
Dragon Quest V (1992): The fifth entry in the Dragon Quest series pioneered monster recruiting and training mechanics that would later influence more popular monster-collecting RPGs, such as Pokémon.
here is a couple games that did it before nintendo did. so pocketpair can potentially use this to battle nintendo's bogus patent.
Anyway, lawsuit talk is simply a Blackhole of negativity, misinformation and aggression so…either take it to DMs or somewhere else but I don’t think we need it here at the moment.
That's still bs
in the past we just took it to a thread
Auto message every 15mins, cuz someone is gonna refresh the topic with some article or whatever
Now we take it to the streets?
Well they shut it off for reasons
Alright, no more talking about law. We're talking about cute things from now on to not cause Bucky to come and silence us like a parent.
. . .
cuteness laws
Seems like some of y'all actually need parenting..... ✌️

Yeah as the story gets around this’ll crop up.
If I was president, I would be suggesting that maybe we ban Pokemon in the US.
Sadly the clickbait is leasing people to believe this is some decisive event.
Can we add a clause for the first 5gens to stay
I ain't doing that if anyone asks me to. Sounds like a pain.
Not even 15 mins
Go tell them to pick theirs switch
time for someone to create the palworld thunderdome server
Even if it's just not possible or it's a violation of the first amendment, it'll bring tons of attention to the problem of vexatious patent litigation, and it would scare Nintendo so badly they would have to give up.

That's in another chat room lmfao
Still valid

I saw a video from Townsend where they make coffee eggs.
It looks both gross and interesting

Moderators will now be restricted to overseeing a maximum of five communities that each receive over 100,000 weekly visitors https://t.co/mJyJLJYTHk
Ok, but, moderators of what
basically, the "powermod" situation has gotten so out of hand that discussion is basically dead on that platform
Reddit removes subscriber counts to better show subreddit activity
Google needs more answers for it's AI I guess
I hate Reddit. I wanted to ask a question on a subreddit, hoping for some helpful information, but then I got a message saying it was auto deleted because I didn't have 5000 karma. Like, I'm fucking sorry? I need to actively kiss asses and get upvotes elsewhere before I can ask how to do something on a video game???
possibly not too far off the mark; powermods may have biased or poisoned the AI data rendering it horribly inaccurate or unusable
Good
"Sorry, your post was deleted automatically because your question did not meet the 500 character minimum."
I've only used reddit once and it was many years ago. I had a reddit thread tear my resume apart xD
I don't use reddit
"Sorry, your post was automatically deleted because any post with that flair must also have certain words in the title of the post."
reddit powermods aren't people
yea new US patent that was issued on sept 2nd and filed in march of 23 about "summons"
That is going to go backfire spectacularly at some point on Nintendo.
"Sorry, your post was automatically deleted because fuck you"
I should make some paper mache pumpkins 🤔
"Sorry your post has been..."
"You cannot view this message because the post has been removed."
It's still a month away....
ROFL was just sent here from general. Didn't realize bucky flagged it. Understandable on their part. This is slowly becoming an industry wide issue not just pocketpair.
Didn’t ya know? Halloween starts the second summer ends
more time to prep means more impressive spoopy-month.
I just wish a way to fight against it was given as a citizen.
I was going to lookalike my notifications to give specific examples but Reddit changed how notifications work and now I only see 2 from actual people
EA Games were the good guys once. They counter-sued Tim Langdell and Edge Games over their claim to the word "Edge".
I said pumpkins, not Jack o Lanterns
Numerous games had to change their name up until Mirror's Edge, when Edge Games lost their claim to the word.
Found it
Welcome to r/furry_irl! Unfortunately your submission was removed because "irl" is capitalized, which breaks the title requirements. Titles should contain one real word, of at most 14 characters, followed by one non-alphanumeric character (multi-character emojis are supported), followed by the lowercase letters "irl".
||There is, Don't give the company any money in any form. No tcg, no unite, no switches, no nothing. ||
Oh, that's easy. I don't like Nintendo and haven't for a very very long time.
Unfortunately, Nintendo makes good games and if I don't supply myself with good games regularly, I might blow my brains out
Are you one of those "Forced soul" people
Reminds me of when I attempted to play the Dragonriders of Pern DOS game from 1983. The player name is required to meet certain rules like an apostrophe for the second or third position, and a dragon name ending with "th"
No, I am one of those people that sees Nintendo patching anything remotely fun out of their games which still not optimizing Scarlet/Violet to not chug looking at water wrong while Xenoblade works fine.
That's Game Freak, not Nintendo
Even after having to remove several features, Palworld is still leagues better than modern Pokemon.
Also supposedly SV runs fine on Switch 2
Modern Pokemon hasn't been decent since B/W era so not surprised.
same thing at this point. they're both lazy and focused more on cornering the market via any means than they are on actually making games.
Pokemon is being marketed only to adults at this point, but the games are insulting to the intelligence of children.
The Pokemon games are made by Game Freak. Nintendo handles the legal stuff and has nothing to do with the game's quality
also; gamefreak is owned by nintendo, and as such, is subject to the commands of nintendo.
Gamefreak is actually a third party.
They co-own The Pokemon Company with Nintendo and Creatures Inc.
oh, really? huh. meh, they're so closely tied together at this point it's a matter of semantics.
Game Freak actually isn't owned by Nintendo
Gamefreak is making a 15 frames per second Soulslike for Xbox
They made Pulseman on Sega Genesis
The funny part is Nintendo somehow making people dislike Mario kart of all thing.
future GOTY
Pokémon company was basically formed to lock in Pokémon to Nintendo. they effectively own it, game freak just develop it
I laugh at everyone who bought a Switch 2.
Reminds me of the japanlife subreddit that will ban people simply because they don't live on Japan lol
is there even any real difference between the switch 1 & 2?
TBF the game is good but it's not what fans wanted. The issues with the game are all very specific to Mario Kart fans. It's a pretty common thing to see when a new game in a series changes up how it works.
Quite a lot, actually.
k, what are they? cause all ive heard of is some minor tech upgrades.
All of the gameplay videos I've seen of the new Mario Kart make it look really boring.
What should I doordash from burger king
borger
burgers fries and chicken nuggets. also an ice cream. :3
The new Donkey Kong game also looks like it would be very boring after the first playthrough.
Big Mac
Played with a friend it's kinda mind numbing and the padding of driving to a new race track pads time.
It gets exhausting without a break.
No Joycon Drift, much smoother gameplay, better screen that's way more scratch resistant, better battery life, has a microphone, magnetic Joy Cons, mouse controls, and more durable frame.
"so when do we get to the race?"
"this is the race!"
One long race without pause was a mistake.
like i said; minor tech upgrades.
also; a lot of that is stuff they couldve had in the switch 1 if they hadnt skimped on quality, like the joycons.
The stages themselves are fantastic, but the parts that ruins it for people are the transitions being treated as part of the track.
I mean, what is a next gen console if not a tech upgrade? The differences between console jumps are minimal these days since you can only do much compared to the 90s
translation: the only reason they even make new consoles is to force people to buy exclusive games. and of course, rebuy games that were on the switch 1.
All Sony and XBox have been doing is advertising that you can watch TV on it.
That's why I argue that PS2 is still a modern console. There's a huge gap between PS1 and PS2, compared to the gap between PS2 and PS5.
Switch 1 games are compatible on Switch 2. The only exception is Labo because the Switch 2 is larger in size.
PS2 is absolutely not a modern console hahahaha
HEY!
Hello
for a few days, pikmin 3 was basically unplayable, so there's probably a couple of small games that suffer some compatibility issues
it was meant to be more like this 😭
but hello!
I miss the PS2 and GameCube era.
hay
I still miss my PS1 with the reader we installed in it so we could just rip games from blockbuster* after renting them for a week XD
only cause they couldnt manage it without pissing off literally everyone. and the labo? they literally sold people cardboard and somehow made money off it. >_>
Also, while I agree that charging money for BotW and TotK upgrades are crazy, it's not full price and the games are playable as normal. The Switch 2 versions are full price if you don't already own it.
I mean, the cardboard also came with a piano software, a VR game, and multiple other things. It wasn't just cardboard.
That's like buying a Kids Meal at McDonalds and throwing out the burger and toy and going "That's it? A box?"
it was cardboard and software. such a difference.
Games are usually software.
or cardboard if you play monopoly
games dont usually try to sell you discarded boxes and call it a product.
They're not discarded, though. They're specifically manufactured for folding into workable parts.
meh, it's cheap-ass materials they dont even have to spend much on. they probably spent more on the packaging.
I do think Labo was overpriced, but so is every other "Build stuff" gaming sets. Labor is surprisingly cheaper when it comes to that part because that costed $100 rather than $200
build the rescue helicopter
They should get discarded boxes then start a recycling campaign on it THEN they should drop the cost 50% because its crazy expensive
Lego Dimensions costs $200 for a bunch of plastic, plus even more for each add-on, which is required to play the game
Skylanders was also similarly priced
Lego also needs to cut their sell price by 50% I tried to buy something for a birthday present and I couldn't believe how expensive some of their sets are
and they both had ten times the effort put into making them, though i agree they were also a pretty blatant attempt to make extra money.
You think Skylanders had effort?
yea im not paying all that money to have shrapnel on my floor for me to step on!
The only recent Lego sets I bought were a couple of the Animal Crossing sets
they actually made plastic figurines with decent sculpting. more effort than the labo at least.
but if it was 50% cheaper i'd prob step on it
"Decent" is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Labo had to at least have someone design the way the cardboard folds and functions. The Skylanders stuff was painted by machines and it often looked really bad
Every single Spyro figure is looking in two different directions
hun; you're comparing folded cardboard to a molded-plastic figurine.
dragons are pretty much lizards. Thats just how their eyes work!
there is no scenario in which anyone sane considers cardboard with some 'fold here lines' to be more quality than a molded figurine, machine made or not.
Designing an origami piano is harder than designing generic creatures
uh huh. id be more impressed if they werent charging for giving kids cardboard and saying 'hey, this is totally worth more than a week's paycheck at minmum wage!'
at least with the figurines i can buy the ones i want and display them on my shelf.
Again, it comes with a game and the cardboard is designed to turn into something that works
that doesnt make it better.
You can also make a cardboard piano and put it on a shelf. Or even play it to make music.
this is how I feel about mythic skins in overwatch costing $80-$100
thank you. exactly my point. it's overpriced for not-substantial return.
the figurines dont cost 200 bucks, and i dont have to make them myself.
I already said it was overpriced
No but the game did
the figurines cost less, and are a more substantial purchase than 'hey, fold this cardboard here!'
and it still had more effort put into it's design than the labo.
better gameplay too.
You're being insanely disingenuous
Have you actually played Skylanders? It sucks ass.
im not. if i were trying to be disingenuous, you'd know. im usually very obvious with my sarcasm.
i enjoyed it. more than i'd enjoy 'hey play this cardboard piano that you had to spend two hours assembling yourself!'
Labo is a mix between a game and a model assembly kit.
Many people have fun assembling things
what's even the replay value on the labo?
'hey, here's a piano and some minigames!'
meanwhile, skylanders is a whole adventure game series with a story and good voice acting.
they had invader zim's va do the main villain.
i mean; even from a business perspective it's kinda shit. you can only scam someone buying the labo so long, but you can always write more skylanders story.
What's the replay value on a piano? I dunno. Playing every song that ever existed and making your own? They also had fishing and biking games, as well as various other things that I genuinely can't tell what they are.
right, every piano teacher thanks nintendo, and every piano-kid student forced into it sobs in the corner.
That hands on building is part of the experience though. its supposed to be a "build with your hands/arts and crafts" style thing that gives you different uses and applications. I do think $100 is too much for the price tag and its probably not 60 bucks because its nintendo's brand name.
Labo lets you experience some real world skills and application which might be beneficial, some kids might start an a labo and find out they really like fishing or playing piano and further pursue those hobbies.
Comparing an assembly kit w/ a game to a game that is designed around buying figures to keep you spending money on it is essentially the transition system between old school gaming and modern micro transactions.
It also had a VR headset that could be used in other games, but it was kinda limited.
might as well sell them an actual arts n crafts kit for quarter of the price at that point, spend the rest on an actual game rather than a collection of minigames.
The point is, Labo is a construction kit mixed with a game and the cardboard has to actually be high quality to work.
It is when it has moving parts
cardboard ranges and has to endure (x) amount of uses for this application use. Sure its cardboard but you could say the figure are "just plastic" Plastic quality can range same as cardboard
I've moved enough times to know that certain cardboard boxes are the bane of my existence XD
i mean....the majority of kids, it's the parents putting together the complicated bits. to each their own, but it still seems like a scam to me. shrug
Depends on the kid
If you wanna talk "Scam," try Fushigi or other things that actually do nothing.
at $100 I think its way too expensive.
I would definitely make my kid build it though. Thats part of the experience. Anyone building it for your kid instead of with your kid is not getting their money worth
and then the kid complains halfway through cause they got stuck on step five.
Either way, Nintendo does still make good games. Bananza is a fantastic game and I 100%ed it.
how are they going to grow up and build ikea furniture?
you just listed a skill issue which can be overcome and is kinda the point of the assembly part of the kit lol It's to teach the skill associated with building it
Kids built Lego stuff. They can build a Labo. If they need help, they ask for help.
if this occurs you have an opportunity to teach your kid patience and to do an activity with them. That will build great memories with your kid.
The only time I cried and gave up on making something from a kit was when a Lego set I had was missing a piece, making the entire set near worthless
how I feel when ever I lose a puzzle piece in a 500 piece puzzle
Hello👀
Wuddup dawg
Apple:
- Becomes household name.
- Starts overpricing their low-quality (read: easy-to-break) products.
Nintendo:
- Becomes household name.
- Starts overpricing their low-quality (read: easy-to-break and also previous-gen oomph) products.
What makes it works is that Nintendo is using USB-C for their dock, but they use extra "vendor-specific messages" to block out "unofficial products" even though they would work just fine.
Actually, the Switch 2 is extremely durable
There's an extremely painful to watch video of someone keying their own Switch 2 screen and it was still functioning correctly. It also didn't get scratched by plastic legos
I have that
New apple stuff is pretty good but severely limited by lack of GPU options.
If they put an RTX 5090 in the newest Mac Pro it might actually be worth whatever price they put on it.
Joycon stick drift at launch?
Keying a screen is not gonna stop the functioning of any device.
me watching the customer's RTX 5090 laptop burst into flames (it tried to boot up garry's mod)
Switch 2 doesn't have drift, actually
Some got it so...
it absolutely did have stick drift issues at launch
Usually it will cause damage past just small scratches
Really? Because I didn't have any and I haven't heard of anyone having it. I've mostly just heard YouTubers claiming it for clout and that they were actually fine
I saw actual clips
Some received it with the drift
Stick Drift is the future of gaming
i received mine with stick drift completely out of the box lo
i rma'd it pretty much less than an hour later
It doesn't have drift so far
I looked it up and it seems to be a calibration issue for most people and not actually drift
Stick drift is just another reason I try to avoid remotes
Before Nintendo even confirmed stick drift issues on the original Switch, they were making people pay for replacement joycons... and not everyone had the opportunity to get a refund (either too early for their period, or the period of getting paid back was over because Nintendo didn't let everyone know properly).
I will say that I did have an issue where the material under the analog stick came loose and made it difficult to move, so I had to push it back to where it was supposed to go
Nintendo still barely acknowledges drift. Their help center even refers to it as "So-called drift"
Analog stick drift can happen on any controller with analog inputs (including ones with triggers (like the PS4/PS5 and all Xbox controllers after the one for the original Xbox).
There's a permanent fix but manufacturers will never do it.
They keep the flawed design so they continue selling
Or a Madkatz controller piloting a submarine
I doubt there's a permanent anything. Stuff will eventually get old and break. The issue is that it shouldn't break within like the first 2 years or so.
NoJ vs. Pocketpair ... how frequently were each one keeping their users informed on the lawsuit?
... I'll stop here.
Remember when Nintendo sent a private military organization to kill pirates
Obviously not because I made that up
But they did successfully sue someone for making Switch emulators and roms so hard that they have to pay a large percent of their paycheck to Nintendo for the rest of their life, as well as the rest of his kids' lives if he ever has kids
... check the URL.
What are these numbers and statements?
"Nintendo has collected 9 coins"
