Full disclosure here, I was banned from this server before because I made the mistake of posting an image of Google's search AI freaking out and spreading misinformation on the cockroach and why it got its name. Either the automod or a moderator deleted it and then banned me without any prior warning, despite the fact that I hadn't done anything prior to warrant an immediate ban.

The image itself contained nothing inappropriate visually and I had to reach out to one of the mods to unban me.

Bucky and Prima bring up good points, asking moderators to do more would be a waste of time and suggested solutions would most likely be impractical. I can only speak to my experience and say that I was banned, and that moderators can do what they need to do in order keep the peace, but I'll still say that my former ban was uncalled for. I am thankful for being able to reach out to a mod in the first place, though.
