Unreal 5 makes it very possible for a lot of people/companies who could never dream of making video games, to make video games
It does not make it easy to make an optimized video game, that still requires a lot of technical skill and experience

It's the general trend that video game developers will overload the "high" quality setting with horrendously overcomplex graphics that destroys your fps, and then make the "medium" and "low" quality strip all the visuals out of the game and compress the textures into the abyss

So you feel like you need High to not look at computer vomit the entire time, but if you play on High, your older/middling hardware can't run the game

If you don't have the cutting edge you can't play on High, that's as it should be
But a lot of games seem to think that "medium" and "low" mean "Make this look like you only downloaded half the game"

I think Unreal very kindly punches all the textures and VFX into the dirt for you, so maybe a lot of devs just let the computer make the quality settings

Commercial eggs have lighter, more yellow yolks bc of the grain they are fed and their living conditions. They are healthy, but not really living.

Free range chickens are able to eat grasses, grains, bugs, natural foods and get exercise. This gives a better, more healthy yolk which ranges more toward orange than yellow. To increase price further of said eggs, many sellers only put brown shell eggs in those cartons bc many believe only a free range chicken lays a brown shelled egg >.>

Yard eggs usually have an even darker orange bc these chickens just live their best life.

As for actual health benefits for the one eating the egg, I haven't looked far into it as of late. It used to be yard eggs were healthiest, then free range, then commercial, but I think it is marginal.

From what I've read, keeping chickens is pretty easy.

You do need to do some start up work to make sure you have a healthy environment for them, but other than that, it is pretty simple to keep them.

I think someone in this server keeps a couple of pet chickens in their house. I recall they used to send pics in this channel of a couple of them lounging around xD

Annoying laptop story:

My aunt would always carry her laptop from the screen. I told her all the time that was going to break it but was always told she knew best and it was easier.
One day, while visiting, my youngest cousin was crying up a storm.
She had just been punished for breaking the laptop. I was asked to look at it and after I calmed my cousin down, I set up my laptop and asked my cousin to do EXACTLY what she did b4 it broke. Had to stop her bc she goes to get it, grabs it from the top of the screen and drags it off the couch. I asked her why she did that and she tells me, "that is how mom carries it." Asked my aunt if that is still how she carries her laptop and she told me of course, why wouldn't she.

I told my aunt, "my cousin didn't break it, you did. The weight of the laptop detached the screen. No I can't fix it."

My cousin began angrily yelling back telling her I told you so and my aunt was mad at me for telling her that she was the one who broke it and not my cousin.

It is significantly easier than RSE, if you care about that, but i loved soaring with Lati@s and completing my Pokedex with aid of the GTS and Wondertrade and training at Secret Blissey Bases. I know tthese are features that originated in older games (Gens 4, 6), but this is the first time I really got to enjoy them. I'm still proud of my living dex.

I wish there was a super simple game like My Pokemon Ranch or something to just drop off all your Pokemon in and be NatDex so that even if you can't bring them into the mainline game you can still like... do something with them, rather than let them collect dust.

Pokemon is super special to me (I'm lowkey obsessive about it sometimes) and Pokemon Colosseum has a special place in my heart as one of the first Pokemon games I ever played

The fact that it's all double battles was sooooo amazing to me as a kid, and I fell in love with doubles ever since. That eventually led to an interest in VGC, even if I only really engage with it as a spectator and through low-ladder Pokemon Showdown hahahah

It's very high quality. There's a few points in which it suffers from having its base game content set up as a modified version of Red and Blue (Silph Co. my beloathed), but the sheer amount of added content is staggering, and the original story is genuinely good, and the many many artists that contributed all did phenomenally.

It's also just genuinely well-balanced (except for one thing in particular) and has so many customization settings and even a NG+

As you can see by this EB games ad, N64 games were very expensive, so my brother was always getting N64 games Used. I did some research, and those are pages from an EB games Catalog, with paid postage, so it got mailed to people, wasn't in the newspaper.

As of recent years it’s always a stellaris dream so you have like, the main galaxy and then some smaller galaxy off to the side and my sleeping brain is like “oh god no what is that why is it there??”

Meanwhile I’d give anything to see the night sky with no light pollution whatsoever. Especially if I have a telescope and the knowhow to use it to snoop on distant objects. Heck I had this game I played in my youth but idk what it was called… what’s that place you can go to find your obscure memories that make no sense? I’ve always wanted to find out what it was…

Basically it was a pc game that came with a projector I think? It makes night sky patterns in your room at night and the game was just, you start on earth, in an observatory, and you can move the camera around and then just… go places

And I mean like, want to go to the fucking sombrero galaxy? Yep go right ahead. I remember holding down W for as long as my impatient ass could so I could… idk exit the universe or something

Does anyone know what I’m talking about? Or maybe a place that might help with figuring it out? It’s one of those forgotten memories that haunts me and I really want to uncover it

Too many people and companies do things I disagree with for me to take a view of despising what they have done bc of who or what they are.
