A synopsis of my book falls into essentially this: It is an 8-part series covering an entire generational bloodline of a certain powerful family, their legacy from beginning to very end. It starts off with a humble trade merchant family from Italy in the height of the golden age of piracy. They travel to sell their annual load of silks and get boarded by pirates, after which the father sells his son off to them in order to keep his cargo. The son then proceeds to travel with these pirates and learns some very mysterious things about who his mother really is and how he came to be. He eventually returns to home to find his father working as a political figurehead in his hometown, leads a raid on it, and eventually exploits a goddess's power to kill his father, who at the time is a weak old man. This causes a curse to fall upon his entire bloodline, making certain that each kid born to this family would eventually find issue with and kill their father, until the curse is broken in the 8th book.
