A lot of video game adaptations, how they occur is:
Script/plot comes accross a desk. It has a tiny bit of potential, but they don't think it will sell. They tell people to adapt it to a similar "game" to make it more appealing.
But, none of the people really know or care much about the games, so it is VERY loosely similar.

still I think its a longshot that these patents could lead to an injunction of the entire game. At worst we might see some capture animations changed and a change to mounting animations of the pals

It genuinely saddens me to see Nintendo act like this. I've used or owned almost every system Nintendo made, including the Virtual Boy. I grew up on Nintendo games, and in that day and age, Nintendo was the undeniable King of Games. One of my biggest gaming achievements that I was most proud of was that I've played and beaten every Legend of Zelda game released in North America, except for Spirit Tracks, and Echoes of Wisdom.

How the mighty have fallen. It appears that Nintendo has forgotten their roots, where they named their flagship character after the man who had pity on them, and let them continue to use his warehouse, despite having the legal right to kick them out after they didn't pay their rent on time.

The Nintendo Seal of Quality was, at one point, a sign that the game was one of the best that could be made, and now their Online Shop is filled with shovelware, and they're trying their absolute best to squash any and all competition to them, and throw their weight around. They're acting like schoolyard bullies, in my eyes. If they win this case, I will no longer purchase from them in any capacity, and I will sell or give away all my Nintendo memorabilia. What they are doing is foul and anathema to me, and tarnishes the reputation of Nintendo, and all who do business with them.

Its just nintendo's lawyers thinking they have a win here when the patents are sketchy at best; I bet 100% nintendo is just planning on dragging this out as long as possible to waste Pocketpairs legal funds. They 100% are on shakey ground, theres no way this would win with a judgement. The goal is to settle out of court

Its hard for me to believe that nintendos lawyers (who NEVER lose) would help them file patents and then sue on those patents with the goal of winning the court case, when those patents are just... dumb.

And I could be wrong, but its highly unlikely its legal to change the contents of a patent during a court case ABOUT those patents

And even if they DID, they absolutely did NOT invent any of these mechanics; World of Warcraft did each and every one of these first.

Im actually pretty excited for this, this game will be made by 4J studios, the people who made the og console edition minecraft. Tbh I missed playing minecraft since they were incharge of console edition, the gameplay was so smooth and their code to make the gun run the best it could really was good. As someone who used to be a shareholder in Nintendo, I am disgusted by this and I fucking hate them now …..they used to be someone I respected, At the end of the day, they can’t handle competition and they can’t manage to bring a single Pokémon game to PC

It’s not a market they’re actively competing in and they’re creating a lawsuit on loss of profits….
Like I’m fucking flabbergasted there’s never been a Pokémon game on PC or PlayStation or xbox… Nintendo and the Pokémon company, intentionally neglected markets, and a competitor put out a product superior to the crap they were peddling on one out of six markets

Nintendo does not have the right to sue about a game being on PC PlayStation or Xbox when they have had over two decades to make a Pokémon game for these consoles and refused & then someone made something different and something SUBSTANTIALLY better
