This is likely because in the lawsuit nintendo can then move to increase the amount of the lawsuit if they want to pressure pocketpair into settling.

This happened with a previous lawsuit involving another game over a few also very wide patents. "The argument was that Colopl continued to violate Nintendo’s patents since the lawsuit was first filed" which raised the amount nintendo was going for from 47 million to 92 million. (in terms of USD not yen)

When after Colopl settled nintendo only took 30 mil from them.

This is likely why they are so undescriptive about which or how many patents are infringed exactly. If pocketpair knows now, they can update the game and any attempts to increase pressure for a settlement would via raising the amount sought would no longer be valid.

I think nintendo wants a settlement here because then they can push their own terms on pocketpair to keep them out of their business, its also why they are seeking an injunction.

After reading patent for a while, I wonder something about catching patent.
In the patent, it used the word, aiming a lot but what if player didn’t aim and allow a catch?
In Palworld, you can do this.

1. Player character aiming palsphere at the rock, no catchable character is display in front of screen
2. As player throw the sphere, it reflected from the rock fly backward to player due to physic engine, say it go overhead of player and somehow initiate a catch of Chikapi that wonder behind player, outside of screen and aiming system.
3. Also, this catch didn’t initiate from battle at all.
4. How many people try catch things when you throw palsphere into a deep valley where player stand on high ground and try to catch pal in low ground but can’t aim directly to character due to physic engine would reflect it if aimed. (I know you did it at some point when fighting alpha.)
   Did this kind of catch is included in patent? Because, this can be seen as different operation mode that not require aiming.

Also, about launching monster into battlefield
I wonder that, if you run into direhowl, it initiate the battle,but instead of aiming to throw palsphere, you turn around 180 degree, no direhowl is on the screen to aim for anything and then you throw a palsphere. Chillet comes out without direhowl is on your screen and then Chillet jump over your head to fight direhowl at your back.
Since no aiming requires with this operation (you can even aim an empty ground or aim at Chikapi that wonder around on screen but Chillet choose to fight Direhowl over Chikapi that being aimed), is it something outside of patent?

Pocketpair might be able to find a lawyer that only charges a certain dollar amount up front then nothing else afterwards. The catch would be if the lawyer costs x amount for court fees, x amount for phone calls, x amount for face to face appointments, x amount to take on the case and so forth, some lawyers might even try pro-bono (doubtful but maybe). The lawyer would be the expensive side depending on the type of payment plan they ask for.

However, I disagree. Gen 5 brought some much needed innovation and QoL. B2W2 was their best game mechanic wise, and from a gameplay perspective. Gen 5 also at least attempted to write a compelling story. Gen 4 might be better overall if DP were as good as Platinum. DP is so bad.
