It's usually skewed data and statistics to not scare the foreign investors which are a strong source of income for politicians and private companies. As a country we don't even get to exploit and use our own national resources. Only some politicians have pushed to nationalize them, but many push back. Those pushing back are usually striking deals with foreign companies or have been literally paid off by them.

And that doesn't even scratch the surface to begin to tell you how things really are here... so yeah, a quick google search to some data and analytics is not going to cut it to describe Chile. Much less to someone who's been living and working here
