I make both digital and physical art, also use clay etc.

All of those require a skill that has to be practiced. People with no practiced skills won't be able to draw digital nor physical. From my own experience, digital has its own perks but also its flaws. It doesn't improve artist skills, nor is it a shortcut. You still have to learn.

That is widely different from the "ai artists" who spend just a couple minutes modifying a written prompt while the machine uses stolen data to Frankenstein some crude picture.

Based on the answers I have received on my questions I have come to a conclusion over AI art:

The AI is trying to learn how to draw and is using online art as reference. It presents its art to humans for approval to see if it is improving. The humans then steal it as their own claiming their prompt created it and not the AI when in reality the AI was just trying to draw a picture from the online references to show the human :p
