They sometimes try to get up close and personal if they are going to do an attack that requires it. I think the issue is they sometimes get too close to the opponent and end up just tossing each other around instead. Personally haven't had any other issue with pals being commanded to fight.

You can overstimulate a cat by petting. It goes from being pleasurable to painful for them and depending on the cat, the degree can vary.

When I overpet Scarlett, she will push my hand away. If I don't listen, she gently bites. If I continue after that, she holds on when she bites to show me it hurts.
