But, I look at the Ancients power in the aspect of: if I see a butterfly in a spider web, do I interfere? If I save the butterfly, it could live and reproduce. It's offspring could be beautiful or decimate a crop. Or, I could leave it to possibily be eaten or save itself. If it is eaten, it nurishes the spider that may reproduce and its offspring could keep other creatures in check or decimate a populate of needed creatures.

I think they should interfere in the replicators to an extent. Deter them from advancing in certain directions in some ways, but keep that from the Asgard. Do not allow the replicators to decimate systems that have not yet been able to grow/live. At the very least, slow them to give them time at life.

A lot of companies buy out other companies or patents just to shelf the product. It makes you have to buy theirs.

An example I can give you is one I chased down recently. Was in need of a fire control panel that had specific capabilities. About 5 to 10 years ago there were many companies that could supply this. Notifier-Honeywell bought the small companies up and then bought the patents from the larger companies. They made their panel the only one you could purchase.

To earn more profit, they discontinued it for a smaller model, meaning if you wanted the same capabilities, instead of buying 1 panel, you had to buy multiple smaller ones that are priced the same as the large one.
