Yeah that part is on Sony to figure out. I'm not sure how they deploy their legal restrictions either unless it has to do with laws in the countries they restrict. The relationship between steam and Sony feels contractual, so if Sony decides to region lock certain areas, steam has to follow suit to uphold the contract they have with Sony. Because if you can play a Sony game on steam that is otherwise restricted on PSN, then that makes steam the loophole, and essentially means Sony gets in trouble when fewer people use their platform because of this

I think so, yeh. I've seen a few cases where the crowds got mad and the company kinda just told them what they wanted to hear to get them to go away. Destiny 2 was one of them for a while, actually, and then the fans of that game figured out how to keep Bungie 'in line'. But then they still laid off a bunch of people and delayed the new season and continue to have their own bad practices. I attribute this to being the reason I don't think HD2 fans had much of a 'victory' against Sony. A small one, sure, but it felt more like an 'I'll get you next time, Gadget!' kinda victory, y'know?
