@boreal monolith So, your right, it is unacceptable and it may have been preventable, Employee A should be fired. But, the thing is that the signs were all there. Atleast, to me, a Manager myself. This type of employee is really common in Blue Collar Retail. But, it always starts the same, extremely high performance. Get's along well primarily with Management. After a few months or, i've even seen it happen in a few weeks, their performance drops harshly and they begin complaining frequently about unfairness. They might have also complained about pay, or may frequently have made allusions to other employee's either not doing their jobs or doing something their not supposed to.

As a manager, I will never promote or give a raise to these employee's. The reasons are numerous but I'll try to explain. First, retail isn't very hard. It's time-consuming, mind-numbing, boring and requires alot of Mental Fortitude. All Employee's can be trained to be above average, and most, unknowingly, perform above-average without even being told to or pushed to, because they naturally get better and more effecient when the job is easy enough which Stocking for example, is.

What this employee showed me, isn't that they can perform better, but, that not only can they not maintain that performance, but they don't have the mental fortitude necessary to. And they probably aren't fit for a higher position because their attitude will bleed into new worker's and eventually hurt performance and effeciency far more than if I'd simply hired someone else who was much more moldable.

That's why I said it may be preventable and also complicated. It's part of what makes Management and promotions/raises hard. You don't want to give raises and promotions to the wrong employee's(Employee A) but you also need to be able to recognize when someone's actually genuinely a good employee and when they're going to turn out like Employee A.

well i played on hard difficulty, stopped buying items at some point just to have a reason to farm pals, never used breeding calculators, never used cheats, and used minimal mods only for QoL. i discovered my own breeding paths and recorded them in a spreadsheet, because if i used a breeding calc it would finish the game too quickly.
even so, i still exhausted almost everything there is to do. i havnt found a breeding path for jetragon, shadowbeak, or orserk yet which i want, but even so it doesnt really matter. you can complete everything without needing to breed pals. and breeding pals is kind of tedious in itself, there needs to be a reason to actually use those pals.
