I remember as a kid, my step brother volunteered to take home the class tarantula for spring break. We were not told spiders shed >.> He woke me up in the middle of the night freaking out bc another spider was growing out of it. We kept checking on the tarantula, eventually it got out of the tank. Both of us were freaking out bc the skin was twitching and we thought the spider had died x.x I at some point found the spider and put it back in the tank, went back to bed, vowed to never volunteer to take care of a pet again. (I had the class hamster in my room....)
