Long ago, some accounts that were purchased for us (my siblings and myself) were getting closed out bc the company didn't want to handle them anymore. They sent out information packets on what to do to transfer the money to the new company. I had to send in extra paperwork because my father was listed as custodian on the accounts and he had passed away and my siblings were still minors. I sent in all the required paperwork and received a phone call.
Guy was speaking to me, I asked what the issue was thinking I left out paperwork in this literal stack of hundreds of papers and he told me it was all there, but he had to speak to the custodian to be able to close out and transfer the account. So I asked him again if he was sure he had all the paperwork. He assured me he did. So I asked, "You want to speak to the custodian, the one who's name is on the death certificate you have right in front of you?" He told me, "yes, I have to speak to THAT custodian." This went on for a good 45 minutes until I finally in aggravation put the phone up to the box of ashes and yelled, "okay, speak to the ashes"
