one of our cats we're 100% sure was abandoned because her unique fur color and.... very dumb mannerisms. I owned a lot of cats in my life, but I've dictated her to be in need of special treatment. she was definitely a "designer cat" purchased, and eventually abandoned near our property. doesn't know how to use her claws, no biting, no feisty behavior. just one lost and very cold cat stuck in a tree outside because my big fat cat decided to chase her up it.

she's insanely afraid of people and strangers, but so... domesticated at the same time, I don't know how to describe it. she'll get scared hearing footsteps in the house, then see it's us and get all happy. a lovely little sweetheart, but good god she's very absentminded.

Mametchi was disowned due to getting pregnant, which wasn't her fault but rather the fault of her owners letting her out without spaying her and neglecting her as she was rodent control.

She is very anxious due to 2 months of mistreatment before I got her, but has been getting more comfortable and outgoing over time. She was very skinny when I first got her, and was only 6 months old so risks were super high. Thankfully everything went smoothly.

she falls off of things and is very clumsy. she learns quickly, but it's like her brain is adjusted just a smidge differently and makes her insanely friendly to all the other cats. one of my cats can give her a little bonk on the head.

that's so crazy to think about 😭 my biggest fear. when we get our cats, our first goal is to find out when they go into heat and immediately spay them. but it has gotten a lot harder in recent years. we made an appointment for our silly brown kitty in December of 2022, but the earliest we were able to get her spayed was in May 2023. we kept her ass in perma lockdown and set up barriers to make sure we could go in and out of the house without her accidentally slipping out.
oh yeah, sucked even more because her heats were irregular and extremely common. I felt awful for her, because she'd basically go in and out of heat at a moments notice within weeks of each other. she must've felt awful.

I had looked after lost cats and kittens before, and had multiple cats in the past, but I never helped deliver kittens before. Poor Mametchi was so round, I had to bring her first kitten up to her face as she couldn't wriggle around to reach him. After the second kitten, she became flexible enough to reach them on her own.

Also Mametchi regularly goes into heat =/ I am waiting for Tamako to go through her first one so I can get them both spayed at the same time to avoid kitty drama.

I'm glad everything went well for you and Mametchi, as well as her batch of kittens! I luckily have never had to deal with helping a cat deliver 😭 I am not qualified. ever since I was born here, we've always attempted to spay/neuter all our cats as soon as they stumbled into our lives, and any pregnant cats that were abandoned here were taken care of by my parents (and that was probably over 18 years ago now.)

we've had people be really weird with our animals before and beg us not to spay/neuter them. never understood it, really.

I did courses in Agriculture and Animal Care in college and still didn't feel qualified or ready in the slightest... XD

Also it is much healthier for them to he spayed/neutered as long as they have finished growing. For larger breeds of cats like Main Coons I can understand waiting on spaying/neutering, though one has to be very careful and responsible with intact animals.

I have read mixed things, so far it doesn't seem to cause anything major other than maybe weight gain, thinner coats (depending on breed) and female cats sometimes hulking out like toms like my old cat Angel did.

She was spayed too early, but grew into basically a small tiger that was pure muscle.

Yes it works for me every time. I tap the line twice where you enter text, a | line should show up and once you open your keyboard it should work!! Just have to make sure to tap it twice
