if you don't snag the game, at least look some of the community section for it, I've seen a good chunk of players looking to expand beyond the game and join/start actual online sessions
also if VR is an option, take a look at some of the stuff that's out for VR and AR. again, sounds bunk but I met some fun peeps through a few tapletop vr sims

well I was a bit joking but I don't know things seems changed since I was here
I was a moderator in a gaming website's forum for like a decade and it was the most awful community I ever seen. we had a policy of not banning people until what they did became matter of our country's law so it made things a bit more toxic. so I respect moderation and places being used properly and I recommend things to people here to make moderator's job easier here because I know how suck it's. otherwise I would never break rules, mock a moderator or assume moderation. pretty much what I try to do here is making the community I like stay decent
as for moderation here I like it. I have no personal problem here. still I think it's a bit too strict here for making people only discuss the topic in the specific channel. I get and agree this but for example in #craftopia-help sometimes people can go off topic but people would still answer question of people, it doesn't change a thing. but when you enforce 1984 stuff in a community it will make people don't use your community anymore and those who stay will want to break rules. therefore find harmony between making community stay decent and people still do whatever they want. in that regard as long as nobody does a bad thing I always leave them do whatever they want
due to human nature if you mess with a person they will look for a way to mess with you and when they hate a community they will throw shit to community. as this place is an official server of a video game if a person hates you as a moderator their hate will shift to the game and the company itself. that person may have influence who has a community on their own, and especially indie developers should be careful because usually big deal people regarding video games follows games so one wrong move your whole company can be blocked by whole country either legally or with just bad review in a magazine or website or youtube channel
in that regard blocking a company in my country pretty much very easy. I can just send a message to related government agency for what kind of laws the game breaking and they will ask Steam to ban the game from the country. in fact if Steam didn't comply to this many times my country would block whole Steam long time ago especially because how much pornographic games being sold on Steam anymore as pretty much for the same reason even imgur was banned here lol. especially japanese games are what my country hates due to kinda sexualixed little girls and not many country is actually different. so just for political reason the related government agency knowing the game is developed by a japanese company is enough to request ban from Steam as they don't even care lol

the real problem is greedy policy to earn more with copy paste games
basically a creature collecting game, but I agree the story is monotonous, a player can only become a pokemon master, although there is also the possibility to ride on pokemons

not that I care about "good old days" but first series had the best pokemons because they are clearly well thought of
after that they seem more like produce of random design like they especially developed a program for it
pokemon could be better if nintendo left its root of "game for kids" mentality

I think the time is slowly coming when pokemon will not be figure out by humans, but will be entrusted to artificial intelligence
in the series, pokemon viewers were waiting for ash to grow up and see him as an adult, and for pikachu to become raichu
but the creators never created it
it could have been a nice ending like in digimon

for me as many people why we like pokemon was just because of its anime
even back then I was very disappointed to play its video game because feature-wise it lacks so much stuff comparing to anime
I mean even the theme of anime and its game is different despite having same characters and story in basic way
yet back then digital pets were very popular
people had special devices for such one type of digital pet
so pokemon made this craze get into extra level so you could collect and battle with digital pets
so video game was liked despite it being nothing like anime just because gotta catch 'em all craze lol
also back then there was no many entertainment subject to focus on so people could easily get into hype train of one thing for a long time
so it was the era anything on TV is the most popular thing
