I do use a "No building collision" mod specifically so I can do this kind of decorating because I struggle with the large, open spaces that the default build system encourages.

Installed a mod that lets me turn off the hip lantern and decided to do some testing of the light radius of various lights. This is the hip lantern's radius for a default comparison.

Obviously this isnt every lamp, because of Discord's 10 photo limit, and the 60 min slow mode timer here, but I included the light sources that I think that most players are prone to use.

Some of them, like the street lanterns, give off an egregiously low amount of light for what they are, while others, like the Large Mounted Lamp, and the (Large) Ceiling Lamp, make things look really washed out, even if used in mega builds.

The best lights to use for accents for smaller rooms or just for slightly different colored lighting seem to be all of the torches and the Wall Lamp, which seems to be the only directional light we have with a mostly upward angle of light.

Then there's also the issue of light bleed through, as most of the lights in game seem to have some kind of aoe bleed through, which can lead to a single powerful light, like the LML, lighting and entire floor of your base, which is fine if that's what you're looking for, but can otherwise be frustrating to deal with when trying to make smaller, more aesthetic builds and light them properly.

Overall just a fun little thing that I was curious about after gaining the ability to turn off my lantern.

When you jump up in air and then select photo mode, you fall back to the ground before you were able to take a good one.

Thought I would share some shots from my 2nd base (which ended up being my main through to end game). I played vanilla and blind and just finished all towers after a few weeks. This was by far one of my favorite games to date. It just combined so many of my favorite things. If I had one building request, it would be a half wall for all mat types (half wall wood, stone, metal)!

Will share some more as this was my favorite place to be in the entire game. Spent a lot of time here learning the ins and outs of breeding, cooking and base optimization.
