Personally I think it’s more nuanced than all synths good or all synths bad.
If a synth has had their access codes rewritten, and they are cut off from the institute then they are no longer a threat and should be ignored.
If not however then they should be considered an enemy combatant and eliminated with extreme prejudice until the institute itself is removed from the board
