@old quarry i wanna know more about that pontiac man, i grew up around junkyards and just a few miles away from one of the largest rat rod tour spots in the country

if i would bet any money on companies that have the funds to test stuff like that i would look at AMS performance and IAG. they are both huge into custom blocks and have seriously deep pockets but they are also so big they probably knew about the alloy before most others

we installed one of the first IAG open blocks for the STI ever produced back when it was a prototype, i rememeber when those guys were a skunkworks shop

then they perfected their closed deck design and it broke the ceiling on what subarus could do

that cylinder 4 issue everyone in the world knows about is due to engineering issues and downsides to boxer engines that are "lower budget" because porsche engines are boxer engines as well and dont have the same issues.

Ringland failure and oil burning issues were caused from the difficulty of managing AFR values on the back bank. to some extent many engine platforms have these issues (bmw e90 with the n54 engine or whatever, its cylinder 6 eggs from similar issues)

When you modify and throw more fuel and heat at engines it exacerbates the issues that would normally take a few hundred thousasnd miless to show up and now they show up at much lower mileage

your average performance car comes from the factory operating at roughly 50 to 70% of its capable power for a reason, and that reason is to get as much reliability as possible and a smooth driving experience.

In my country you need to know how and when to use firearms to pass the licensing test. Everyone should be able to defend themselves but that cant happen if people dont know how to handle firearms.
